Agreed. If you asked me a month ago who was the more realistic target between Szoboslai and Tonali, I'd easily have said Szob.

With Tonali coming here, someone who is more suited centrally/in the half space like Maddison/Szoboslai isn't as important. Wouldn't be surprised if we get a more pure winger instead now.

I find it a bit weird. My perception of him before he came here was that he was a bit limited and lacked end product, but had ok technique, good stamina and excellent work rate. Every time I saw him for Everton he just seemed to keep going at a high tempo the entire game.

Out of curiosity - based on what? Bruno has scored more than him the last two seasons. 21/22 season Bruno equaled Tonalis number of goals, but did it in under half of the number of games.

Can't see us using a rigorous set of roles within the midfield with Longstaff, Joelinton, Bruno & Tonali. The exception is maybe Willock, but all the others can do everything. If Bruno or Tonali carries the ball on the left side of midfield I can see Joelinton slotting in to cover and vice versa with Longstaff/Bruno on the right if Tonali is starting in the center and goes on a run on the right. Like total football, just restricted to the central midfield positions.

Don't really care as long as it's option 2 or 3. Just hope they expand significantly so it's not a big concern whether it's possible to get hold of tickets or not. Although I understand the concern from locals with connections/ST holders that it could affect the atmosphere I value my convenience higher

33 is pretty fucking old for a top flight player. Not rotating Trippier to keep him fresh would be extremely speculative by Howe imo. There were 8 players who played in the PL at 33 last season. About half of them were regulars at teams and even less of them were playing in European competition. There were 26 players 34 - 38 who had PL appearances last season. 6 of them playing regularly. Trippier looked absolutely great last season, but generally speaking players are starting to decline heavily around this age. He should be preserved as much as possible. Risking him against a lower half PL team or lower league team in one of the cups before a CL match f.ex doesn't seem very smart to me. Burn looked extremely fatigued at the end of the season. 1 year older and a ton of additional matches I can't see how he can play every game either.

He'll have to this season. Tripper who turns 33 at the start of the season, 31 years old Schar & Burn won't be able to play all games in all competitions even if they manage to avoid injuries. Might as well get better technical players play the games where we need to break down low block teams.
