Sounds like your friend needs a precision strike to the esophagus

Pipe dream and all that, but seems like a player you'd willingly pay that kind of fee for as his value will likely double or maybe even triple in the next 2-4 years.
-
Isn't he linked with much bigger clubs already? Like that time we were linked with Nicolò Zaniolo Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. 19 years old, 13 goals in 22 league appearances in his first season. Being touted as "the next" Joao Pinto/Rui Costa/Cronaldo depending on whom you ask. Probably way out of our league and budget.

Rafa Silva is 25 years old and this is the first season he's performed well. Smells like a dud for whomever that would sign him. Not sure how much he would cost (assume a lot? )as I'm not that bothered following football in general these days (thanks Mike), but that João Felix looks really good and is only 19.

Give over. He’s been class in plenty of big games. I've watched very little of him and City so that might be. In this game he looks like Damien Duff when he played for us. No guts to take on a player, misplaces passes, no effort to make offensive runs.
-
Starting to understand why Sane didn't get to go to the WC. Not a big game player at all. No effort, sloppy passing, no dribbling.

Agreed. That being said, I think we would have been relegated if we had Muto instead of Perez, Elliott instead of Dubravka or whomever would have deputized for Hayden during the second half of the season. We would probably have been fine with Fernandez or Clarke in place of Schar though, but that shouldn't be an argument for not praising Schar for his performance this season.
-
1. Perez 2. Rondon 3. Schar 4.Dubs 5. Hayden Honorable mention of Longstaff for the games he played, but too few to consider him.
-
Both him and Yedlin are 25. There's a reason why Yedlin has been playing for Seattle, Spurs, Sunderland and us while Manquillo has played for Real Madrid youth team, Atletico Madrid, Liverpool, Marseille, Sunderland and us. He's a good footballer with a lot of potential. It's his mentality that is the problem. Hopefully Rafa can program him and we should have a cracking RWB.

Fabinho with a dirty dive for their free kick that led to the third. TAA with the assist for the second when he should have been sent off. gj FA.
-
For being the "big, duel strong" part of the back 3, Lascelles haven't really done himself proud today. Awful game.

Might not bother watching UFC tonight
-
Great entertainment the last 10 minutes
-
Went stiff there when the back of his head smashed to the ground.
-
Can someone explain how TAA didn't get a card even though we scored? Wish Atsu and the players had protested harder to the ref. Feel like he let it slide just because we scored.

People dreaming of a fluid attacking newcastle under Benitez is doing just that - dreaming. We know what kind of play style he prefers. More quality will help make it look nicer but the fundamentals will still be there. Just look how he approached the championship season. Just because you like the blokedoesnt mean he will start playing entertaining football. It will always remain calculated, cautious and effective
-
Good shout. He had one absolutely ridiculous good performance against....spurs? Assisted pretty good as a make-shift full back a couple of times but other than that failed to impress.
-
If we had them during their prime they obviously wouldn't be on the list, but for us the gig was up and Newcastle was only a last desperate pay day for them as much as they were desperate signings by us. Not their fault we signed them, but that doesn't make them any better or worse than what they actually were for us.
-
It's none of the listeds fault for being taken way above their level. They were all, relative to the level the club was at the time, shite.
-
My approximate worst to least worst of the worst from the time I've been watching Newcastle: 1. Lamine Diatta 2. Sol Campbell 3. Ronny Johnsen 4. Cacapa 5. Paul Huntington 6. Dave Edgar 7. Peter Ramage 8. Marcelino 9. Steven Caldwell 10. Moke Williamson 11. Jean-Alain Boumsong 12. Oguchi Onyewu 13. David Rozehnal 14. Craig Moore 15. Steven Taylor 16. Titus Bramble Sure I've left someone obvious out. There's so much crap to choose from the last 20 years
-
Too much quality and too much at stake for them to drop points against us. Our team will be prepared and set up to do its best as Benitez always does, but it won't be enough. A Winjaldum slip to give us a counter attack where Perez puts Milner on his ass before slotting home 1-0 in OT after a hard fought game would be fantastic though.

It's just so basic. He could just as well have said "shooting wins games" or "passing wins games" Of course there's instances where a team has lost due to lack of commitment, but in most cases losing managers that blames the players for not giving their all are either in denial that they got the tactics wrong, or they don't see/understand what is wrong with their own approach so it has to be something else that is the issue.
