    Transfer rumours

If we can get a charismatic and mean cunt with bags of energy and a bit of technique in at CM I reckon one signing alone could galvanise the team enough to drag us out of the relegation zone. Tall ask to find the next Vieira/Keane though, so most likely we'll need to add as a minimum a new left back and striker as well before I would feel confident that the team is good enough to stay up. I don't think we need that many players in January as long as we have a semi competent manager who can teach the squad how to press as a unit, and work on how to retain possession when opposition team commits 2-3 players to press our ball carrier.
  2. Their squad sucks and he is setting them up to get more out of it than you'd expect. The only players from the team that won against Villa this week I'd have here is Ward-Prowse and the full backs.
  3. Impossible to rank. The quality of managers this year is the best I can remember. I mean, look at OP having to put Viera at 17th Maybe not that far out considering he is fairly inexperienced, but sure seems harsh considering how well they are doing.
  4. I was at the point of feeling pity for Moyes at the end of his stint at Sunderland via Man Utd and Sociedad so am happy for him now even though I don't care much for West Ham. From what he achieved with Everton and now doing with West Ham shows that with the right backing and squad composition (feel the Everton & West Ham squads are quite comparable?) he can consistently get good results.
  5. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMHHHH Fucking love listening to the Norwegian Liverpool supporting commentator trying to sound objective when West Ham scores.
  6. Squad isn't young, and players definitely doesn't seem hungry. Ritchie will make a fine lower PL standard PFM in a few years.
  7. Not really surprising considering that the players had a resting heart rate throughout the entire first half.
  8. Getting outplayed and out fought by 10 men & out field player in opposition goal
  9. Sanchez saved Brighton a point with that. Sucks for us. Correct decision thanks to VAR.
  10. Feel it's more due to Brighton allowing us more time on the ball than in the first half than us playing better, but we undeniably do look better this half regardless of whos "fault" it is
  11. Yup..not sure it's because I've watched more football since the takeover or that I simply care now, but seems to be even more of this post-Bruce. Infuriating.
  12. The shirt pull was why Trossard lost his footing after the initial contact. Edit: Not to say Trossard didn't make the best out of the situation, but I can see why it was given. Without the shirt pull it would probably not have been given.
  13. Agreed, was probably why the pen was given imo. Without that it would have been yellow for diving imo.
  14. One hoof and lost possession, no pressure on Brighton half. Looks like we're playing Man City. Gonna be a hoot watching this shit.
  15. Fuck off Jones. Let's hope we fluke it somehow, but I doubt it. Fuck you Jones. Good luck all. Hope a seagull shits in your mouth Jones.
  16. Fucking Jones and his line up man Should be booted out of the club the minute Howe and his team is there. Let him cheer for the team from the stands along with other fans. He clearly has no fucking clue when it comes to assessing players.
  17. Without knowing any context, I guess it doesn't necessarily mean the £40m was needed.
  18. With the right player acquisitions in January I think he should be more than capable of achieving that.
  19. While I agree with the part in bold, I also think the part underlined is a very weak argument to excuse the new owners. 1. They came to a club with a structure in place to take care of all day to day stuff with the club. 2. The purchase have been in the works for years, so it's extremely incompetent by the owners if there isn't already a clear vision and strategy established which can be presented to potential managers 3. The only thing they needed to focus on when they got control was to sack Bruce and get a new manager in. Based that, I can sort of understand why people are getting a bit agitated, but to quite a few the irritation is clearly OTT. This season isn't salvaged this half. The owners need to ensure the new manager has time to assess the squad and identify players needed in January to save our spot in the PL during second half of the season. My fear is that the same people that are OTT with the manager situation now, are the same loud people that will panic and maybe even want the new manager out again before he is even able to get new players in.
  20. There's bound to be unreasonable and emotionally loaded whining no matter what, simply due to the wealth of the new owners. I was absolutely desperate for them to get Bruce out as number one priority (I'd set it higher than meeting & greeting with players, staff etc), but now that he is gone I don't really mind them taking their time to appoint a new manager, as long as they leave enough time for said manager to get familiar with the squad and identify potential targets ahead of the January transfer window.
