Steve Harper, Steven Taylor and Andy Carroll are at least certs in our team. Started thinking about present CB's who could partner Taylor. Is there no one else besides Caldwell brothers and Paul fucking Huntington?

Is there a web site where I can see how much (distance) Kevin Nolan runs on average each game he plays?

Players who joined a youth academy, and came through the ranks of one team. No transfers at all is allowed. Ben Tozer, Aaron Spear etc is not eligble for Newcastle as we paid money to get them from another team.

No. If the foreign kid quit his local team because he and his family moved to England for some reason and he then joined an English team, that would be ok

Imagine in a world where no transfers of players from one club to another existed: Which teams would be the best in England today then? In a way, I feel bad for clubs like Southampton, who could arguably be a potentially solid premier league team if they didn't have to sell players like Walcott, Bale and now maybe that Chamberlain kid. Other teams, such as West-Ham would still have players like Lampard, J.Cole, Defoe, Carrick, Ferdinand, G.Johnson etc. Don't know why, but this topic always intrigues me. So out of all currently active players, what teams would be fighting in the top of the league today if the players never were transfered? P.S Carrick is not eligble for Newcastle, as we got rid of him and came through West-Hams academy. P.P.S Use the players current ability, not past or potential when arguing.

Raol Ferdinand and Bryan Giggs Can't be serious

Simpson on twitter tweets that he had a class training session today. The guy must obviously do something the players like. Only notable mistake he has made so far in my mind is putting Tiote on in the Stevenage game.

He would be perfect as he can oprate on the wings and as a striker, but Celtic just got their £2.15m bid rejected for him. Don't think hes worth much more than that considering that his contract will expire soon. They offered nowhere near £2.15mill. Reports in Norway say that Brann want £2mill and that Celtic offered a deal worth £1mill if they qualified for Europe ect. My bad, you are 100% correct.

Drop his basic wages so they fit with the structure, and add performance based bonuses so he could make the same as he does now if he performs consistently. I don't think he would drop his wages out of love for the club, especially the way he is performing these days, and I can't really blame him for that. This could be a good middle ground for player and club.

http://www.safc.com/news/20110114/fan-panel-sunderland-v-newcastle_2256213_2266436? Sunderlands fan panellists for our game. All of them think they will win, apart from one guy who somehow thinks they are playing Fulham.

In the sense that the fan's get on Jonas' back like they did with Robert. Two frustrating players. Does something poor in the game and you can hear the abusive shout outs and groans go right through the ground. The two of them combined would be one of the best LW's in the world. Robert was one of the best LWs in the world. Would agree on this, though I got laughed at by quite a few friends when I said it. Imagine if we had a LW now that would score 8-10 goals a season and around 20 assists with Carroll upfront. Ask them to name 10 better ones during his peak. You'll get silence. Pires, Giggs, Ronaldinho, Nedved at least. Feel like im missing someone. I agree somewhat, and I'll rephrase: The two of them combined would arguably be the best lw in the world.

Would love Tottenham to get Agger. King, Woodgate and Agger in the same team

Blatter is and will be the man

Haven't you seen enough of Nolan behind the striker to see that he is not very good at that role as well as the rest of the team being much, much better when playing 4-4-2? Yes, Seb is right footed, but so is Jonas. Not really. Havn't got to see many games the last 6 months, but he seems to be excelling in the box, while contributing little else bar his captain duties on the pitch, so why not give him a more offensive role?
-
I'd just like to see it. Not saying it will work better than anything else we've seen this season, but it could. Isn't Larsson right footed? Can't see where else he'd fit in our team bar right wing.
-
If we got him, I'd be tempted to push Barton back in the middle again. Tough since he has played so well there, but if his performance drops in the middle, it's not worse than to put him back out right. I'd like to see how this works, at least untill Ben Arfa is back. ----------------Carroll-------------- -----------------Nolan-------------- Gutierrez-Tiote-Barton-Larsson

8 minutes added time in the Wigan game due to the Kirkland injury. Sounds bad. Step forward Al Habsi!
