I would be all over this, I can't really get behind Gateshead as I'm a north of the river guy, don't feel to much affinity for them. Newcastle City FC would be a great project. I think it has to be a complete fresh start, not some non league club, changing it's name. Obviously as you point out it's not likely to happen without some serious money.

I get what you are saying but we only need one win to be safe, surely ? With the fixtures we've got, pretty confident McLaren would get the new manager bounce to win one of them. If Mclaren can't, won't come then the likes of Vegetables and all the past their prime outdated managers, hell sunderland managed to bring in a big name. That's all you really need here, a name more than anything else will surely kick some arse I know it didn't work with Shearer for us last time, but Shearer had a lot more work to do than we do.

I think they will act, they have to, from a business perspective (and we know that's all Ashley looks at things from) they most certainly have to. Carver has to be sacked completely, he's made his own position untenable with the players. The players won't want him even on the coaching staff after the comments today. But of course you could be right as how often is it easy to predict what this lunatic running our club does.

I honestly don't know whatever gives you any hope that we won't drop. Sunderland had to lose today to give us a chance. We aren't going to save ourselves, and I would be shocked if Sunderland didn't get 2 more points from their last few games.
-
Wonder if Ashley would be prepared to pay someone 1 million to keep us up. It would payoff handsomely in the long run.
-
Only thing that can save us now is a new manager bounce.
-
He can't survive this, unless we really don't care about out PL status

Has anyone linked this piece on the beeb: http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32569248 Mcnulty has it spot on here, great piece Apologies if it has already been posted in another thread.

That's a good question.Rests on the Mackems game maybe, if they lose, i would probably roll the dice on sticking with Carver in the blind hope they appoint someone competent in the summer.
-
Ryder has already written an article drawing parallels with Hughton, struggled in the PL but came into his own in the Championship. The unfortunate thing is if we do drop, there isn't even the remote chance that the club will hire a decent manager but if we go down it's gotta be between, this inept fool and a manager who just threw a playoff place out the window.
-
It's not good enough to get yourself a job at a PL club, neither is his record in any other job in the last 10 years bar one season in Holland. I didn't say it was I know you didn't, I was agreeing with you're irony

That was just after the other bloke stated the stat of 15 defeats out of 21 at the end of last season, who was the manager then ??

Why am I still watching this, maybe because it's still 3 hours till the 4 round of the draft starts.

Post of the year, here folks !!

He'll be in place for the WBA game now, no doubt about it. Great qualifications !!!!
-
He's not even n the pitch ffs

Stupid idiot Williamson, should be banned for 10 games for that. One silver lining to this game I guess.

This is embarassing as fuck, it really is .

At this rate we may need to worry that Burnley and/or QPR can catch us too. Sunderland might not get to 35 points and we still could go down. It would only take a couple of results from one of those two and they catch us. QPR play us remember so that 3 points for sure.
