This tea lady at the club, gets a lot of bloody shit. But how is she empowered to influence or be part of the decision making process ? FFS, if her brew is a little too hot and she hasn't added enough milk was this really the reason why John fucking Carver was appointed as Head coach, or something we can directly relate back to the lack of investment in the club over the last few transfer windows !! She's not the person that decided that Mike Williamson should play over 100 game for this football club !! If I was the tea lady at NUFC, I would be on the phone to HR to complain about this constant abuse, surely she's due some compensation.

NUFC.com are sitting on the fence again. Really piss me off those guys. Because they fucking lucked out and registered a domain name before the club and others saw the value in it, they've been left with a wed site that gets tonnes of hits and is one if not the most popular places to go to for the rank and file of the support, those with a mere rudimentary understanding of the internet. They are in a unique position therefore to be able to mobilise the masses, to try and effect change, but they once again want to sit on their cosy fence and spout the crap about them just being a couple of lads who love the toon.

I remember when Ryder first started to appear in the Ronny Gill, they were obviously grooming him to take over from the equally odious Alan Oliver, when I first read some of his stuff I would say, god help us when Oliver retires (and that says a lot because Oliver was tragic himself) this guy is borderline retarded and words fail me for how on earth he got the job in the first place.

How close are we to being in a situation where, it doesn't really matter how many people turn up, is it the TV money is what's keeping the club solvent ?

I've been pretty firm in the belief that getting relegated this season will do us no good in the short or long term, it won't help us rid ourselves of Ashley and only compound the problems we have, for example the likes of Willo, Raylor and Sammy would be seen as ideal Championship players and probably get new contracts, while we would lose the likes of Sissoko, Janmaat, Krul and Perez to the highest bidder. Also living on the other side of the pond, I wouldn't get to see us play very often at all any more. However now my opinion is changing, I don't really care to watch this shell of a team anymore, I tune in for every game and never would I miss it if the were on but I really don't enjoy watching the way we play the game anymore. So not being on TV, would actually improve my quality of life. In terms of the club, we need to stay down this time if we drop. An instant spring back is something Ashley could live with, just like he did last time. The only way for him to be gone is for us to remain a championship club for a few seasons. All I would really want then is for us to be bought by someone who cares, someone who's not just in it for financial gain of his other interests. At this point I don't really care if that person has the financial backing to achieve promotion back to the PL, I would honestly feel better supporting a club that prides itself in achieving the best possible on the pitch, rather than a club that has financial clout but lacks that desire and feels more like a business than anything else. Ideal situation though is that a wealthy Man City esque person comes along and dangles a lot of money in Ashley's face, that's only remotely possible if we remain a PL club. TL/DR: Would rather support a championship club with honorable aspirations than this PL club.

Surely he needed not to lose this game to have any chance of getting the job. Got to be final nail in the coffin.
-
They are sitting on the edge of their penalty area, any other team would have scored at least one goal by now against that, we can barely create a chance.
-
We've kept them up again this year, where would they been without our annual 6 point gift.
-
This is as bad a performance as I can remember in living memory, it's only 1-0 but really had we been playing anyone of any ability it would have been a big big defeat. If we get a draw out of this it will be daylight robbery.
-
Why would we let him go? Contract running out and not wanting to sign a new one? Guess his Dad wants to join Palace and will want his son to move down South as well? No reason whatsover and against our stated policy of nurturing talent then selling at a high value. You would basically be selling a player at point in his career where he'll only rise in value. Unless he wants out for some reason, but while his dad is coach here I find it highly unlikely. And what has this world come to when Southbloodyhampton are linked with poaching our promising youth products !!!
-
Was gonna say didn't he only cost 4m? 4m strikers crash and burn all the time, that's why they're costing 4m in the first place. This is absolutely the point. We've become fascinated with picking up those rare bargains, like Cabaye for 4 mill, Sissoko for 2 mill, Janmaat for 4mill, Perez for 1 Million, BA for nowt. That we seem to expect it every time we invest. For strikers paying that amount is going to guarantee you nothing.
-
I think 16th or 17th is highly ambitious of you, no way we would survive a full season of Carver even with 20 mill spent.
-
No such thing as a free lunch, amateurs !!

Said before. I now think we're at £5m as the kitty for this summer. Basically Our operating Profit. It'll actually be lower because we're going to finish lower in the league so broadcasting income will be down too. £18.7m profits reported in 13/14 and I make it an 18.6m net spend in 14/15 up to and including the sale of Santon. Wow so we have 5 mill to spend in the summer ? Unless we sell more players ? Wow !!
-
The way we sell our players it'll be Sissoko 10 mill, Tiote 3mill and probably Perez 5mill and maybe Krul for 5mill. Bringing it to a healthy 40 mill !! but of course now with a lot more holes than the holes we had before in the squad.
-
We are probably still paying their wages and Rangers I'm sure didn't pay a loan fee, so it's basically 100k per player IF they get promoted. If they don't get promoted which is highly likely, then they pay nowt, for 5 players of a higher quality than most of your squad for 6 months. The fact that are all bar Vuckic injured is unfortunate but I have little sympathy for Rangers tbh.
-
The big question for us though is how do these figures effect our spending power in the summer. It doesn't look very promising if you take the numbers as a truthful representation of where we are. The only reason we are in the black is because of the Cabaye sale. Since we already spent this profit in the summer of 14, then the only way we have to build our transfer kitty is from the sales since then, hopefully that includes Debuchy's 10mill. 5 mill for MYM, 2 mill from Santon. It's at best 17mill for the summer recruitment. Wow we are screwed, since there is so much work to be done on this squad.
-
Hardly surprising, there was no way in hell we were going to publish a 50 million profit, as some were suggesting. For tax reasons clearly they were going to get creative to reduce the figure as much as possible. Problem is the easiest way to reduce the profit figure would be to pay back some of the loan, but the loan is to the owner, I'm no accountant but I would presume if we did this then Ashley's personal tax situation would have been impacted heavily by a extra 50 mill in income or whatever they posted. Obviously he couldn't do that. The worrying thing is that we seem to be kind of a year behind in terms of spending what we make. This season we have spent more than we've brought in (probably) Debuchy. MYM and Santon out, for what around 17 mill, but we bought Cabaye, De Jong, Perez, Rivierre, Janmatt (feel like I'm missing someone here) for what a combined 32 Mill. So if we only made a profit of 18 mill when we sold a player for 20 mill and spent zilch then we will be back in the red next year and therefore need to sell to just survive. Selling Sissoko and Perez for a combined 15 mill, should help us stay in the black. Hopefully that's all we will lose. Of course it could all be a load of bollocks !!

This. Showing us up tbh.

There is a lot of s*** in our squad for sure and we have a small squad. The first team (if everyone is fit - which is very rare) is more than capable of hitting the club's stated aim of top 10 (not that that is good enough of course) but we really need to bolster that squad and hopefully show some bollocks and turn a top 10 team on paper into one that challenges higher up. To do both those we need to: GK: Keep Krul, we should be fine here with Darlow backing him up and Woodman coming through. RB: Keep Janmaat but need a cover full back to, ideally a youngster that we can develop that can play both sides. LB: See greater improvement (especially defensively) from Hadaria, or bring in another LB, may need to add another youngster to cover too. I don't mind keeping dummet if his contract is pretty low as an emergency cover kind of guy but not a first team regular. CB: Two new International quality CBs. Backed up by Laschelles, Saylor and Satka, if we are stuck with Colo too then fine. MIDFIELD: Decide upon a midfield setup Sissoko, Abeid, Tiote and DeJong are of the required standard but need a formation that works and need to add creativity to that group (Grenier would be a good cheap pick up IMO). Colback as a squad filler is fine for me. We may need to add another development guy though too. LW: Get Aarons on the pitch or if this is going to be a problem bring in another LW, we'll need one for cover anyway. I'm ok with Sammy covering too. RW: Decide on Cabella's best position is it RW or LW or just behind the forward(s), again get the position right, he could be our best player if we use him the right way. We need another player that can play RW. A player that can cover both flanks would be ideal. I'm OK with retaining Obertan as a squad filler/impact sub. FORWARDS: Perez is a keeper up front, but we need a proven goalscorer and some more cover, I would cash in on Cisse while we can (assuming we've already brought in a proven goalscorer). We then need to add at least one more international standard striker plus a another development player (Ideally that would be Armstrong, but not sure he's yet shown enough to warrant too much faith in him fulfilling that role. I would be try to sell or letting the contracts expire of: Elliot, Alnwick, Colo, Williamson, Raylor (although if he was to sign for a really cheap deal then maybe ok to add as a squad filler), Jonas, Ferguson, Marveaux, Anita, Gouffran, Rivierre and Cisse (but like I said assumes we have a proven goalscorer in). That's 12 players !!! So we have to replace them, here is what we need: 2 fullbacks 2 Centre backs 2 Central mids 2 Wingers 2 Forwards The two loan forest lads making up the last 2 slots. Of those requirements I think we need 6 or 7 first team players, the rest could be development players but need to be ready now to fill in for injuries, not someone that won't be ready to fill in for a few years. That's gonna cost a lot of money because the sales we make from the players we want to let go will be minimal.

I can barely remember Howard Gayle 8 games on loan in 83, tho i never missed a game that season. I remember Tony Cunningham, and a certain name directed at him, but I think his race didnt really come into the fact the fans just thought he was s*** and symptomatic of the poor first season back in the top flight playing hoofball under Jack Charlton. The Newcastle crowd were just generally racist in the early/ mid 80s, names, monkey noises, bananas and songs, chants were quite common iirc. Im sure someone will be along to disagree- but thats how I remember it. Casual racism was pretty much an accepted norm in the area where I grew up tbh. Yep I always remember the NF presence outside the ground in those days, it was shockingly obvious by today's accepted standards. One old bloke in particular I remember always standing outside the old Gallowgate end handing out NF Flyers, I used to give him some shit as I walked past him but he was completely emotionless.
-
Especially when we are in a situation where we can't find 4 senior pros to fill up our defence for our next 3 games and Ryan bloody Taylor is playing left back. Seriously you couldn't make this crap up.
-
On the grounds that it was a yellow at the worst, never a red card ever. I agree it was never a red, there were no studs up or any real danger in the tackle, it was late and clumsy more than anything. But I find it hard to believe the FA will overturn it, since that would have to be a big admission by the ref that he was bullied by the Everton players into sending Colo off.

I think that's a good appointment by the mackems, he's a name and that's something that their players will respond to, certainly in the short term, so it pretty much guarantees them another derby win. Win a couple more and they will probably be safe. I don't believe the bottom three as of today will be any different to the bottom three come the end of the season.
