He has been excellent in the second half of the season, turn his career with us around really, wasn't that long ago he was getting much deserved stick.
-
I would be more than happy with the current bottom three dropping, also no problem at all in seeing Palace, Swansea or West Ham replacing one or both of them.
-
Our joint second worst player today according to Ryder who thought Yedlin was superior with an 8, lol ! https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-player-ratings-plenty-14479869

Some of his passing was outstanding today, should really have had a couple of assists. His shooting though has been dreadful all season for some reason. Mooy's a very tidy player and a good one, but he really doesn't dominate a match as much as he should, maybe it's the role he plays in and he would benefit from playing further forward.

They needed to get a new manager bounce to survive and today's game was massive for them. The bottom three right now look the most likely but it's still wide open. Huddersfield will be worried tonight and it's hard to imagine one of the relegation sides not being one of the ones promoted from the previous season, with ourselves and Brighton maybe already almost safe, then they are the most likely. Palace in terms of form have been awful, but you've got to take into account the teams they've played during that stretch. You would think they have enough to stay ahead of at least three other teams, but they are very reliant on one player, that's never a good thing. Swansea have leveled off a bit since they got an amazing new manager bounce, I wouldn't discount them. Really do think it's between the bottom six now for the 3 spots with Brom taking one of them for sure.

Had to leave to take my son to his footie just as Slimani came on, couldn’t wait to get home to watch the rest. Awesome result and a 1 for sure now. We may already have enough points. Time to relax and watch a exciting relegation fight with our own worries more or else over.

Had to be a corner or a Pen that really.
-
Second half has been dreadful so far.
-
Wow all those empty seats at Brom, guess they are loving Pardew football
-
It is about patience but you can't help thinking it's one of those games, way too many of them.
-
West Ham 3 up against Southampton, that's huge.
-
Funny thing is, we all said Gayle isn't anything more than a goal scorer, his all round game isn't good enough. But right now he's in the team in spite of his finishing, honestly as bad as Joselu atm, hope it doesn't cost us here today.
-
Unfortunately too many of these games this season, FFS Gayle come on.
-
Yedlin has started very poorly today, think we need to upgrade that position in the summer, he's just too inconsistent.
-
I think central midfield is also a big concern. Diame has played really well of late, but he's going to be another year older next season, and I'm not sure he can be relied upon for much longer. Shelvey has been up and down in form and as we've seen, we are way too reliant upon him. Hayden has been somewhat of a disappointment this season, and could very well be moved on in the summer, Merino started well but has faded badly. We need a lot more quality in there and also ensure we have that dynamism that Diame has added.

yet he is at pains to point out he is a geordie at any opportunity- they really are a bunch of identity fucked up losers. A lot of them have the same avatar as this guy has, I've no idea who the player in question is which is sad indictment of their so called legends. Was a tribute to some bloke on their who died recently tbf. Ok then fair enough, I withdraw my statement.

Germany, Spain and Brazil followed by France, Belgium and Argentina imo. After last night's results, not sure I would include Argentina in the list but I guess the Messi factor can't be discounted.

Catts for free, like. Funny thing is they all seem to think that players like Cattermole and Rodwell should do the "honourable" thing, leaving and just forgo what is due on their contracts. Why should they have to pay the mistakes they've made ? They are going to have more issues with Kone, Khazri, Borini, Dilojobi (or whatever), Ndong and Lens's contracts too in the summer, lol. That's a lot of dead wood eating up a lot of wages.
-
Not in total agreement with this. The number of times we've blown leads in games where we should have won has been a sign of nerves, Bournemouth being the recent prime example of that but also games like Stoke away when we were hanging on in the end.
-
They are only 3 points from safety, so they are not dead and buried yet. However from our perspective it's hard to see how they would be able to get 6 more points than us (considering we have a large GD advantage) based on the games they and we have left, so could very well discount them as a threat to catch us.
-
Funny how daily on RTG there appears a new Cattermole thread, they absolutely hate the guy now when it wasn't long ago when it is all "Catts for me, like". https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/cattermole.1422963/

Mooy is massive for them, key to the way they play, if he's out that's huge for us. Still would be disappointed if we don't win this one whoever they field.

Yep that's definitely how top managers operate in vital games, if a player "insists" on something happening, especially if it's Stevie G then the manager has to do it. Honestly some journo's must not read what they write because surely they can't believe it.
