Because we are biased, I didn't see any of the game at all but thought is was an awful decision

What if he's the best English CB in the country? Is he ? I must say I've not ever seen enough of him to make that determination, just because Man City spent 50 million on him, doesn't prove it. Who's better? Like I said I've not seen enough of him to say one way or the other.

TBF, looking at the team it is way from our strongest 11.

Ours is absolute shite like, terrible tune and increasingly irrelevant lyrics. It's no wonder we do so badly when we blast that dirge at our players before every game. I've always said since we do not compete as GB or the UK then we shouldn't be using "God Save the Queen" especially when the likes of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland don't. I'm not religious in the slightest but love Jerusalem, Land of hope and Glory is another much better alternative. I don't hate God save the queen, I just don't think it's appropriate.

what is that, seeing it more and more on the forum. It's what the kids are saying these days instead of "Fuck you, you arsehole, you the prime example of why your generation sucks and an example of why it's important to complete your education and not dropout" I think anyway..could be wrong
  7. Agree but it's a shame if Ritchie can't make it, as he's just started to really pick up of late.

‘Mag’ is a mackem term like, it’s so transparent it is unreal. Now this is for sure a fraud, it's such a bad attempt too.

Can't say I'm shocked. The only thing that is surprising is why it's taken him so long to be linked with a return. Hope he lands flat on his arse, if he's stupid enough to get involved again.

Rugby League is fucking awful man, it's so contrived and sterile, just a stupid attempt to satisfy the masses to make the game more "exciting", the popularity of the league game as opposed to union is all the evidence you need to have to see which one has the most potential to grab peoples attention. Honestly don't get all the hate on here, this was a great chance for the City's Rugby team to gain some much needed exposure after what has been a fantastic season for them, that's all. I find the game to be an excellent one to both play and watch but it's not to everyone's tastes. I absolutely hate basketball, don't get the fascination with the ridiculous amount of scoring that goes on but would be absolutely stoked if the Eagles got the chance to showcase what they have done for the city in the same way.

Objectively it's not. Evidence = national and international attendance and TV figures Rarely if ever do you see an empty seat at Twickenham, as opposed to Wembley for England games. The International games are extremely popular.

Tremendous support, really pleased for them and a vital win, 3rd in the league now !

Story of his season. We're not sure if his injury has had a permanent effect, or if he's simply getting back to full fitness, or if he's just not playing enough. Need to get Dummett in for him for the next squad

Well that's put all their minds at rest. Their made up Wolves supporting friend has posted the following in response to the well respected throughout football comment: "Too right pal. I know most Wolves supporters respect Sunderland fans for their passion and knowledge of the game. Geordies in general are just big headed twats who Bully managed to score 4 goals against on their manor. " That is so clearly a Sunderland fan pretending, it is word for word what they are regularly saying about themselves... Their sadness knows no bounds. I honestly can't get my head around why anyone would pretend to be a fan of another team and then come on and say nice things. It's so weird. I'm sure he's probably real, pandering to the fools on there though to curry some favour. Honestly we are not missing out a great deal if a Wolves fan thinks that way about the "passionate" (10k at max ) Mackems. So Steve Bull scored 4 against us once, 30 years ago, big freaking deal. He's real if you ignore the coincidental nature of an opposing fan joining RTG and magically having the same agenda as a mackem. And also ignore the fact we never get fans who come on this board and immediately start comparing NUFC to SAFC despite said fan having no allegiance to either. When Groo signed up as a Swansea supporter, imagine if instead of joining discussion about an upcoming match between us, he just started stamping SMB, fizzy pop, cheesey chips and hot dog sausage in a burger bun in this thread It just doesn't fucking happen. It's also a sign that we are way more relevant than they ever will be, there will be fans of other clubs who hate us, that's fine, I hate Manure with a passion, but I don't really give two shits about a club like Birmingham, Wolves, Bolton, Derby etc, because they are really not relevant. That's where Sunderland are to most other supporters, the non NUFC fans on here I'm sure will concur that they really couldn't care less about them. No mackem uses the word "Manor" to describe home, it's possible it could be a southern born Mackem, but why would he bother, he's just someone desperate to be liked, kind of like a wolves version of Mag in Peace, honestly not worth the bother to think up conspiracy theories.

  16. Surprised he's went that low. I'm the opposite, surprised anyone else is taking a chance on him, he's made his reputation by hanging on the coat tails of a world class manager, done nothing himself to deserve the opportunities he's been given.

I think if they do go down they will struggle in that league. First home game will see 10k if that and in the lower leagues you need momentum. A double relegation will be hard to suddenly snap out of. I don’t even think the team they have now would get out of that league. There are some good teams, solid, experienced teams and they will become a scalp for many. Darker days loom for them Would love to agree with you but you only have to look at the teams at the top of L1 this year to understand that there is a significant drop off from the Champo. The bottom three from last year's champo make up 3 of the top 4 spots this year and all have won 20 plus games including Rotherham who were as bad, if not worse than the Mackems are this year. They'll bounce straight back up, most likely but I expect them to be more of a Leeds than a Wolves in terms of making that next leap to back to the PL.

I wasn't aware that the Falcons were playing there this weekend, hopefully the city gets well behind them, they've had a fantastic season and deserve it. Loved going to watch them at Kingston Park in the 90's when we won the league, Kingston park was blowly as hell but it was great to be able to get so close to the players and we used to walk from one end of the ground to the other at half time to be closer to the action, as we tended to dominate territory at home in those days. Football will always be king in Newcastle but in all honesty we've been a hell of a lot more successful in the other sports like Rugby, Ice Hockey (at least when they had a team) and Basketball in my lifetime.
  19. Crazy to think he was a penalty shootout away from being in the Prem. Did a really good/ lucky job for them last year They've tanked badly this year, could easily get sucked into the relegation fight.

Or 13-3 if they ever learn to add up, which was the point of Paully's post which everyone whooshed on
  21. I agree in a sense but the timing could be when we've all but mathematically secured PL status. The thinking behind it being they can negotiate a better deal, the numbers we saw being touted from Stavely's group seemed to be close to what he wanted but the relegation clause is what made the deal unacceptable from Ashley's perspective, hopefully soon you won't need a clause in there and the two parties should in theory be close to a deal. I dunno, it's probably going to start up again pretty soon IMO, whichever division we are playing in, having an apathetic owner as we've seen down the road is a recipe for disaster.
  22. At some point you would expect Staveley to make one last ditched attempt to buy the club, I was assuming that that would happen near to us confirming our PL status for next year (assuming that happens of course). I don't think she ever said she had totally given up. Ashley I think is holding out for someone to make a move like this, he needs to say something at that point (if it happens) and state his intentions. We can't afford another window like the last two, uncertainty will kill us eventually.
  23. He's improved massively since being re-installed, I agree that that pair is very strong and a great basis for us for the future.
  24. I went the unconventional route of a Dragon 32 then onto BBC "Model B" Micro (I had a modem and was hooked up to Prestel, which was a souped up teletext system before the internet took over). A few years later though the Amiga would blow everything out of the water, I hopped on that bus pretty quickly. I had the original Football Manager on the BBC and Elite, those two games were absolute classics.

How many goals has he scored this season for a team ambling about in the champo, come to think of it, how many games has he actually be preferred to start in ? Might have some promise but honestly he's not shown anything in a season where he had the opportunity to shine, they'll be lucky to get a joselu type fee for him at the moment.
