  1. Aye, much better to pay his wages until he buggers off for nothing. There's another possibility too, apparently we've offered 40k he wants 60k, I'm sure the common ground is 50k. Offer him them, make sure it does not come into effect until the end of his surrent deal, he'll probably take it. If that is an amount Ashley would rather not, try to sell him in the next window, at least we would likely get more than a couple of million, which will not get us anyone of any quality to replace him, and we desperately will need to replace him, the squad is too thin not to.
  2. Well fuck, hope he goes to a foreign club, doubt it though.
  3. I think this is bad news tbh, absolutely sure he'll do a "Milner" when he leaves, and go on to be a quality CB. We'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 million I think for him right now, we don't have the biggest squad and Taylor can fill two roles CB and RB. I hope this is not true or just a scare tactic by Newcastle to get some progress, 60k is outrageous I agree, but some club may be prepared to pay him that.
  4. I think I said in another thread that I believe Spuds are the only side capable of breaking a top 4 of Manure, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Shitty, but it would still need a awesome effort and a lot of luck to finish in a CL spot. Winning the title ? Fucking stupid thing to say. They've got no chance and just keep raising expectations and pressure on themselves.
  5. I agree. For Champs League, I think Manure and Chelsea are locks, Arsenal would be a huge surprise for them not to make it, Man Shitty and Spuds for the last spot. If Spurs qualify for the CL this season I think the extra games will really start to take their toll on the squad, particularly at CH. They're going to be playing every 3 or 4 days and they're going to pick up injuries and suspensions too. Can see them slipping out of it a bit unless the droopy-eyed prick signs another couple of players. I think they'll finish about 6th. That's true. I still think they are the only team that has a chance to break the top 4 of Manure, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Shitty, the rest of this league is just not up to their standards. I'd go along with that. I think the top 4 will be away and clear by March and the likes of Spurs, Everton, Liverpool and Villa will be scrambling around in a little league of their own. The other 12 clubs will be trying to make sure they stay in the division. Think City will finish 2nd unless ManU sign someone massive in the next days. Chelsea M City Man U Arsenal Spurs Everton Liverpool Think Everton need to pick things up a lot to finish that high tbh, the two games I've seen from them, they've looked toothless and distinctly average. They always seem to start off slowly though, so you may be right. Think they need a couple of big signings though. Disagree (though I was bound to really). We don't need any signings, we need our squad to stay fit throughout the season (which it is atm). And although I'd agree with you about being toothless against Blackburn, we were much better on Saturday and will play half as well and win comfortably this season - and Wolves will play twice as well and lose this season. Just wasn't our day. Doesn't help we have Villa - desperate to prove a point - and Man Utd in our next 2 games, admittedly. We'll come good, and I honestly think it would be stupid to write us off for a while yet. Thought you were toothless in the Wolves game too, sure you dominated possession, as you would expect to against Wolves, but that cutting edge just isn't there. You need a proven goalscorer, it's as clear as the nose on Andy O'Brien's face. There's a lot of quality in the midfield but without someone up front to regularily put the ball into the back of the net, you'll never reach the heights you should be capable of. Not saying you won't be comfortably in the Top 8 but you could aim higher with more goal threat than just Tim Cahill.
  6. Yeah that's so fucking annoying. A.
  7. I wouldn't argue on the quality, but no use to us if he's on the treatment table as often as he has been especially on the wage he'll command. I thought we moved away from the big name injury prone type signings.
  8. Don't understand the Santa Cruz link tbh, not sure he's of the right mould to work with Carroll, has terrible injury record, will be on huge wages, not the right age, it's just all wrong to me.
  9. Basketball is one of the worst sports in the world, the score just showed a tribute to Kobe Bryant, about as exciting as a Chris Hughton interview. That's all.

  11. I think he's up against it, with a squad not capable of meeting expectations Liverpool fans have for their team. Not sure he's good enough either, they should have gone for M'On, they may do that soon, if results don't pick up, Hodgson could have a very short time in charge there.

  13. Not really, considering we were repromoted, we had just ben beat of man u 3 -0, every pundit has us down for relegation and the club has chaged its policy of pay on the day. We've been used to better though, even last season, hopefully people we come out again after the 6-0.
  14. Lol it fucking carzy atm, Wigan on the other end of the scale, but they just signed Steven Caldwell, so that should fix that
  15. 4k more in attendance than our game, that's disappointing really, for us.

  17. Will Torres ever be the same again, I have my doubts tbh.
  18. Yeah I think there's an element of truth in that, he's never going to win the title with Liverpool, even if he plays for another 10 years, think he probably realises that now.
  19. Think it's been a bit better in the 2nd half, but I agree, it's lifeless, think we are just used to 6-0's, we've been spoilt. Edit: This one might end up 6-0 too, Liverpool are woeful.
  20. Can't believe there were some freakin idiots on 606 forums yesterday, saying Harper was better than Hart. No wonder people call us deluded.
  21. Not as bad as the other guy who referred to the Emirates as "Clock End Stadium." Max Bretos, he's a legend in my book, been doing soccer coverage in the US for years, and he so awful at it's unture, I wallow in his awfulness.
  22. I do not like Robbie Mustoe (ESPN's "expert" in the studio for NA coverage), complete twat, refused to give us any credit there in their half time summary of the weekend.
