  1. Keyword for tonight for me is desire, we show enough of it and we'll get the win.
  2. Yeah I tend to agree. I think Pompey will score early and we'll be chasing the game. At the end we'll nick a point, which people within the club will say is not a disaster, unfortunately I don't agree. No win today and we are toast.
  3. I haven't seen much of Hull recently, from all reports though, they've been woeful. However despite being 1-0 down, they've looked alright and a hell of a lot better than we have been. They may not be in the freefall we all think they are. We need Liverpool to tonk them in the 2nd half, stick 3 or 4 past them, we can't afford Hull taking any confidene out of this game.
  4. Hull playing very well, Liverpool playing shit, just what we didn't need.
  5. I think Ashley is the main reason (and Wise the secondary one) for Newcastle's predicament, not Kinnear, though I'd agree it was a lousy appointment. Spurs were in a worse situation than Newcastle, the difference was that Levy did something about it. Ramos went, Redknapp was brought in and he was given a fortune to buy new players, one of which (Palacios) changed the season and the mentality. Ashley lost Keegan, brought in Kinnear, didn't spend and wound up making a profit on transfer dealings. I still find it bewildering that Wise couldn't tell Ashley he had to spend serious money. Wise was the DoF after all. Funny thing is that if the rumours were to be believed that Wise left because he didn't agree with the buying of Nolan, then you can hardly say he was wrong. Kinnear has been a disaster for NUFC beyond his initial month or so to steady the ship. After that he should have been thanked for his services and a proper manager brought in.
  6. Didn't want to start a new thread here, so hijacking this one for a sec. Just read that Lua Lua has only managed 47 mins of play time in total during his loan. Seems like a growing thing with our fringe players, you see them drop down a league or two in a loan, expecting them to flourish at the lower level, only to fail miserably. Carrol, Shola and joined now by Lua Lua. Are our youngsters even capable of competing in the championship next season ?
  7. Although I tend to believe the Boro game is way more important to us to win as they are a team we are fighting more closely with. Pompey is a must win from a mental point of view. Failing to win a game we've been banking on for so long now, will kill us mentally I think.

I've been wanting to move off a 10 for a while now, but just cant. Having said that. Looking at the fixture lists, beat boro and get a point some place else and we could still stay up. Hull and Boro have such difficult run ins, hard to see them picking up too many more points. Two wins out of the five remaining matches could actually be tough to beat, three and we are safe probably but this is all tempered with reality and the way we are playing.
  9. Spot on, as ever Johnny. The point about the players complacency is a very good one.
  10. I'm trying, ridiculousness is not the norm ? I'm 39 and 3/4 years old. oh nearly 40, its all downhill after that mate. I know I'm not looking forward to it. I actually lied in my last post, I'm 40 next month. Born in the same year as our last major trophy success
  11. I never claim to say I told you so, I was concerned, very concerned back then, what I take afront too, is people who openly mocked that viewpoint and still come on here now to tell us we were wrong to be concern. mind boggling really.

  13. Obviously I'm full of s*** then, because I started this thread. Don't bother asking me what I think of your posts, btw. Really? Point to your properly predicted fixture lists Point to where you named names when it came to injuries Point to any concrete f***ing fact where you predicted this with stunning accuracy Don't point to "Gosh I'm not feeling good about the situation now" and think that proves you right. Eat s*** forever. | | v goes double for you LOL. Point where I say anything other than the signs were there that the club could implode. How that has come to pass, has never been sumething I will say I predicted. There were a lot of danger signs at the start of the season, signs some of us recognised, things Johnny come lately's like yourself wouldn't have any clue about. If you think that we are somehow unlucky to be in the situation we are in, you are living in cloud cuckoo land, this season was so avoidable if those in power had only used some common sense. If you think I feel good that I was proved right to BE CONCERNED, because that's all I was back then. You can go f*** yourself tbh because you insult my 30 plus years supporting this football club. I would have like nothing more than this thread to have been ridiculed as pessimistic tosh. Typical high quality post from you.
  14. Nothing wrong with a bit of faith and optimism, what is gauling for those of us who try to be realistic and years of hurt have taught us to be naturally pessimistic; is the ridicule that is hurled in our direction from those that don't agree, "misserable twats" the lot of us.
  15. Obviously I'm full of s*** then, because I started this thread. Despiteme and a few others going on for months prior to KK's departure of worrying signs of direction from the club. Don't bother asking me what I think of your posts, btw.
  16. Exactly, absolutely no need for it. But yeah, well done to all you miserable twats who would have been contempt with 17 back in December Funny thing is it was not a "miserable twat" that bumped the post ! Also funny how those miserable twats have been proven right isn't it ? Signs were there people could see it, but others stuck their heads in the sand, laughed at the "miserable twats" and preached about us "being too good to go down".
  17. For me it would have to be creativity in midfield, closely followed by a player capable of converting chances that fall his way. The defence will also need a look at, a replacement for Colo and some back up in the full back positions.
  18. Not really, I think you would need to be a certified lunatic to answer no right now.
  19. Although I'm not saying Ranger is the answer, it may take a gamble with a youngster, preffarbly one that plays centre mid, that will save us from this. There's probably no one though within the club that has the ability.
  20. This is the thing. Although on paper they look very winnable, there is no way in hell a team playing the way we are, with the confidence levels we have, defence suicide we display, simple lack of any creativity in the middle of the park and wasteful up front, that we'll be able to win 3 games in a row at home, we haven't done it all season and I doubt we'll start doing it now. We are well and truely f***ed tbh.
  21. That's it I think, we need a point today and the confidence it would bring, Martins simply had to put that one away. We're down, only a miracle will save us now.
  22. Delivery from corners is terrible, the commentator is absolutely right
  23. That was a huge opportunity, pathetic execution by Jonas TBH
