  1. Something happened there with Martins..Shearer does not sound too happy with him
  2. Some good results, in there but Boro's win is worrying, we are now 2nd bottom of course, we need a win today.
  3. Thanks Manure, they are playing shit, mackems deserve the draw, that could be crucial for them, with their next two games looking very winnable. Always rely on Manure to play shit when you don't want them too.
  4. I've got a feeling they'll get something against Manure this weekend. Manure are struggling for form atm, and if there was ever a good time to be playing them, then it's now. If the Mackems don't get soundly beat, this could give them the lift they need to get six points against Hull and WBA, if they do that, we'll struggle to catch them
  5. But it can turn a s***/average player, someone who's more sensitive to criticism or praise, into a better player. See: Parker, Scott and Bramble, Titus. Dont think it has much to do with it tbh, if they have more ability than theyre showing it'll be down to how theyre being coached more than anything else. You dont get to premiership level footie by being sensative to criticism. I'm sorry but those are some of the most stupid things I have ever seen someone write. Despite what you may think even the best pros are still human beings, constantly bashing players, like we did with Bramble, will have a negative effect on them, do you really want to see these players play even worse because you pay your money and are entitled to boo players on to the field, ala Shola or burst a blood vessel when they make the odd mistake ala Taylor. Criticism is fine if it's constructive, but the players need to feel they are supported to perform their best not in constant fear of failure as some appear to be. I'm not absolving the players from blame for our situation, they've clearly not done enough this season and are being paid hansomely for doing so. But as supporters we can do our part too by encouragment and making SJP a fortress itr once was. Perhaps we'll learn a thing or two from Stoke fans this weekend , who've made their home such a difficult place for visiting teams to play.

    Thanks Captain Obvious.

    Obafemi Martins

Martins is simply not doing enough atm, as is the case with most of the team tbf.
  8. I think that's more to do with Phil Brown tbf, the odious git.
  9. My stoke supporting friend tells me that this thread title has cuased some comotion on their fan site and they are contemplating an invasion of our board. Heaven help us

    Owen to stay?

What I always find funny with crap that comes from footballers or sources close to footballers, is the inability to concerntrate on more than one thing in their lives. These people who work 3 hour days, have pratically all the major decisions made for them, can not dedicate any time whatsover to talk about contracts. Why don't they just be truthful and say, "Until I know which division the club will be playing next season, I'm not signing a contract with this shower"
  11. I dunno why, but I always seem to think of Harry Enfield's "you don't want to do it like that" character when I see him.

    Ryan Taylor/Nolan

Nolan has been completely anonomous in appearances so far for the club, Bolton fans weren't that upset to see him go, that probably tells you something. Taylor is an championship player, nothing more nothing less, shouldn't be playing in the first team but with the injuries we have no choice in the matter.
  13. They've got a decent centre half there though, Faye I think is his name, we could have used someone like him here this season. The Stoke fans apparently think the midfield that played against WBA is their best 4 and they've been crying out for it: Lawrence Whelan Delap Ethrington. On paper it looks crap to me, and no comparable to a probable Jonas Nolan Butt Duff, line up, but they've been getting results all season in spite of their apparent weaknesses. Fuller and Beattie up front, look a formidable force, Beattie has been a great signing for them, hats off to him, he looked finished at Everton, but dropped down a league with Sheff Utd and that looks to have rejuvinated him. But again you wouldn't swap those two for Martins and Owen, ON PAPER !
  14. Yep accroding to the star, we are looking at a 6 million bid. Where the hell will we get 6 million from if we are a championship team and no way in hell we should be interested in a player with his atitude whether we are PL or Champ.

    ITV

ITV have always been utterly crap at football. I always find it funny at World Cups when they share coverage of certain England games with the Beeb and they always come out much lower in the viewing figures. They are just a crap channel full stop, there is simply nothing I miss about that channel living away from the country.
  16. Stoke's victory against WBA will help us I think in a strange way. Although confidence in their camp must be huge now and they'll know that beating us will more or less put them safe, with an easy reamining fixture list. But they may well feel sitting in 13th spot that they've done much of the hard work and easy up a little, it's so easy to do, for a team that relies so heavily on there effort and hard work, that could have a significant effect on them. Of course that is wild hope, but I'm going for 1-1, not sure though whether that will be enough to keep us up. This is very much a must win obviously.

Boro are not totally lost yet either though, they've got some good looking fixtures coming up and also a couple of games against the top 4, but they've got this knack of beating them. I think we'll need to get to 41 pts to be safe, which is 4 wins out of 7, it's a tough order, impossible if you look at the form this season.

A few weeks back, I would have said this was a almost certain, now I hae my doubts, Manure have looked distinctly fargile lately and that could have a huge impact on our relegation chances as they have many games against our rivals.
