  1. Someone needs to find the dumb dumber gif, "so you're saying there's a chance".
  2. The tweets I've seen from him, whoever he is, suggest he's a bit of a dick tbh, maybe connected to Ashley some way though, so probably toeing the party line no doubt.
  3. The ironic thing is I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he went back to the guy that was here when Ashley got here, assuming that Everton wise up to what they have. He was always the perfect manager for Ashley's ambitions.
  4. Feels like the end is close, after today, it's been fantastic having this man managing the team we all love. Such a missed opportunity, that's the most depressing aspect for me, Ashley could have repaired a lot of the damage he has done to this club by just backing the man sensibly and letting him get on with rebuilding the team. It wouldn't have taken in relative terms a massive investment. He would easily get that money back in terms of making the club way more saleable, it's just all very sad. Whenever he leaves he will leave with his head held high and have the bulk of our support's true thanks and best wishes.
  5. Yep. Pretty much said that she's a time waster which, in the business world, doesn't look good. SUE HIS ARSE, AMANDA! Not much she can sue him for, no official statements and even the unofficial one doesn't go into personal insults. It's pretty strong language though to say it was a "complete waste of time".
  6. The pantilimons failed, that's perhaps the saddest part Have to find a new avatar now.
  7. Honestly not the worst news in the world, at least we are not stuck in this will she won't she situation where nothing gets achieved because everyone's afraid to make a decision. On hindsight it was clear this was where we were headed for a while now. The important things now are, for Rafa to stay (not sure why he would) and for us to retain our PL status. If that happens perhaps we'll see a change in ownership in the summer. I wouldn't rule this out at this stage, if I remember rightly (and I'm not also great with that) the deal for Man City was off, days before it was finally confirm. I think it's a common business tactic in these types of deals, brinksmanship. We'll find out soon enough when PCP respond, which will happen as fast as their lawyers can put something together I'm sure of that.

Although they are in a poor run of form, Southampton have been "in" most of the the games they've played recently. I don't see a relegation team there tbh, but they do need to start winning. There are so many teams in a similar situation, don't think anyone from Everton down are out of it.
  9. I would take 20 million for him if there was any hope in Rafa getting the full whack to reinvest, both aspects of that statement are fanciful so just knock back the offer.
  10. My preference would be an Reina type GK with a ton of experience and a lot of quality, a true number 10 and a striker that can put away the chances we've been creating on a regular basis. In an ideal world, I would like an upgrade for Ritchie too and and defensive midfielder who can complement one of Merino or Shelvey.

Fat Sam and Everton are a strange one, although they've got themselves out of the mess, they aren't clear yet and aren't in the best of form, Fat Sam's teams also have a tendency to switch off once they hit their target which is usually the 40 point mark. They do need to start winning again soon or they will be dragged into it again, like Watford have been, the same thing could have been said about Burnley too but they've already got enough points to be in cruise control for the rest of the season, the concern they should have is the number of goals they score 19 is pathetic for a team in 7th spot, even we've scored more, and only Swansea, WBA and Brighton have scored less. Form guide for the last 5 games has both teams bottom of the league with 2 draws and three defeats.
  12. If true this is good news, I would rather Ashley pocket an extra few million from the sale than we risk our PL lives. It does though signal that no takeover will happen anytime soon. He could however change his policy of buying players outright, and do staggered payments, like evey other club does, he might think he won't be able to increase the asking price by the value of the players. It could be as well of course that these 3 players are all loans.

After 29 games I had us bottom, after the season was over 14th with 39 points. Swansea pipping Huddersfield to 17th spot on GD, with Southampton and WBA dropping too. I'm sure I've over estimated some teams, like bournemouth who are finishing 9th in my table on 48 points. Also the points tally is way too low on mine, 33 would make you safe. Lesson learned, it's impossible to predict right now, way too many variables, over clubs's interest level in the PL games is the real key, along of course with form and luck of the teams in and around us.
  14. Seems like a terribad appointment, but he did improve Wolves considerably last year when he took over, probably doesn't need to be outstanding to keep Stoke up. Negative though, is that that squad is old full of players who are playing for not much more than a pay day, it's unblanaced and Lambert is a long term disaster of an appointment, might well save them this year but will probably drop next.
  15. Where do Stoke go now, they probably didn't contemplate their first 3 choices turning them down ? Can't believe they haven't gone for Koeman, in fact, surprised none of the recent teams that have sacked their manager looking for a bounce haven't. Perhaps like Laudrup, there is something on him that hasn't been made public, perhaps he's pissed off the wrong folks.

We'll have weekends like this where everything seems to go wrong, but it wasn't a complete disaster this weekend, that would have been if we had lost. We focus on ourselves and how we are struggling but we are clearly not alone, which is a good thing. I've moved back to a 6 now, from an 8.

Huddersfield will imo. I’ve thought they would for awhile. Still think it will be Swansea, West Brom, and Huddersfield. Swansea are too far a drift, and with too little quality to get out of it at this stage I think. Brom got a huge morale boost today, it's Pardew and we know he can get a flukey run of results going, that might drag them out of it. Huddersfield are still ahead of us in the table, they still seem to get the odd result here and there, of the two other promoted clubs I think Brighton are in the bigger danger, not convinced Hughton is that great in these situations and they don't score nearly enough goals. Watford aren't out of it either, they are in awful form, Bournemouth never seem to have got going all season, we are very much in it, with our terrible home form at the moment. Still can't call this, when the dust settles on the window though, I think we'll have a clearer view, just hope we've made the necessary investments in the squad, honestly one or two quality players in the right positions would have us comfortable in the mid pack.
  18. All I have seen is the first 30 mins and that was far from the truth. Obviously the game went downhill from there but you seem to be blowing it a little out of proportion.

Last year Watford got 40 pts and finished 17th, the previous year Sunderland were 17th on 39 and the year before the 17th team finished with 38. 40 points is a pretty good indicator actually. What happens towards the end of the season, the bottom clubs results all tend to pick up a little as those higher up in the table focus on other competitions or just don't care as much.

The next 18 days will define the season, we knew that going into the month. We have to do something. I only saw the first 30 mins today, I have the rest on my PVR but going to hit the delete button. In that half of an hour it was a familiar story, we just don't seem capable of taking our chances when we are on top. That's a very fixable problem to have with a little investment. It was a funny day in terms of fixtures with a lot of teams at the bottom playing each other, we still have a gap between the bottom three and us but it's clear now the more established PL sides like West Ham and Palace who have struggled early on are starting to get to where they expected to be in the table. Hodgson has actually done a fantastic job there tbh, considering the start the club made, and I honestly thought Moyes was finished but proving he's still got something. The three promoted teams should be very worried right now, signs are not good for any of us.
  21. Wouldn't it be nice, just for a change, for a positive tweet or article to come out about the Takeover, Signings or support for Rafa within the club. It just seems like a constant flow of negative crap rom all the journos right now, it's probably the truth but I'm for one fed up with it all.

I struggle to see why. 34 year old, one in five forward who spent practically all of 2017 out injured with recurring knee injuries. Sounds exactly like the calibre and type of player that got them into this mess in the first place. This is perfect. He might have a purple patch when he first joins, like a lot of players of his ilk do, but honestly if he's going to be their main man going forward they are screwed. There's an article on the Ronny Gill though that says Coleman is confident of getting two strikers in soon, not sure who the other one is, but they better hope for better than Walters.
  23. That would break our transfer record, lol
  24. I honestly can't remember if he did a good job or not at Watford, got a feeling he will get them out of trouble this year though.
  25. They are not going to be one of the favourites to go down next year for sure, if we survive this season we'll be behind another team next year already.
