Isak out for £130m, Jackson in for £100m

£50m is taking the absolute piss to be fair.
-
Guess that's the end of that.

I'm quite looking forward to it...well sort of. Had some flashes of potential, and Howe must see something in him otherwise don't think he would have been so embedded into the first team squad
-
But we can't really grow our revenue unless we have those players to keep us at the top end It's absurd. Basically can't invest to grow.

What an absolute loon. New ground in 4 years as well It'll be several years from now if they announce it this summer I reckon.

I've just seen the Saudi news on the Guardian. What in the actual fuck. So they've now decided to directly undermine us rather than help our rivals. We won't even be able to use any transfer fee against European squad cost ffs. Wouldn't then be surprised they sold him to one of the breakaway clubs for £50m next season.

Globally, ensuring a closed-shop at the top is arguably preferable for the PL? The majority of domestic and global fans are for Arse, Man U, Liverpool, City, and Chelsea. Having a Villa or Newcastle disrupt this group could be off-putting to those fans, and therefore damaging to the product.

He needs to threaten to resign. Maybe that will wake the owners up.

It's fascinating seeing the Villa fans on Villatalk.com aren't as gleeful about this as I expected. It's dawned on them that they're pretty much as fucked as we are (though maybe not run as badly as us right now).

Current starting 11 for Villa? Elanga possibly bedded in slowly. Gordon or Osula Barnes Joe Tonali Bruno Murphy Hall Botman Schar Tino Pope Fucking fuck me. Suppose it's a better team than three years ago.

I said we should essentially not bother with the cups to help our squad cope, but it's getting to the point where I doubt we'd even manage just the PL and CL. This is assuming finishing 5th is the target again.
-
Ah well, at least we tried

Howe working miracles with a small squad was the biggest factor IMO. It doesn't feel sustainable, and there's a sizeable risk we'll regress next season. Players may also have had expectations of a new training facility and significant inward investment, including closing commercial revenue gap, ensuring we can kick on and really scare the top 4. None of this has really materialised.
