I think one of the reasons the club are so reluctant to spent money on matured players is the fact we bought Coloccini at 26/27 and nobody has ever offered money for him, even when he was playing well. Consequently we've just had to persevere and absolutely run him into the ground while players with potential like MYM get marginalised.

Yup, definitely. No re-sale value. He also cost a fair whack, and was given a substantial salary. They'd rather buy players with potential who don't cost much, or at least won't get paid much, and who can then possibly bring in huge money when sold.

Think Valencia is a really good striker, but he'll flop under Big Sam. He will just be another Maiga for them.

What's the Ajax striker like? Though we might show some interest, considering his contract was up in 2015, and he had such a good scoring record.

Ozil was fine last season till Ramsey and Walcott got injured, there was nothing wrong with him he just found himself in a team that wasn't making runs.

Disappointed in Fer last season but I would be more than tempted to go in for him, not necessarily for NUFC more in a general sense. I think there's potential there.

Yeah, there isn't much difference. Essentially, we will be playing with a main striker upfront, with a number of attacking midfielders supporting. I think we are aiming for that main striker to be someone with a presence. Who can at least occasionally embrace a hoof.

Think it's Lacazette the club wants. Doubtful we'll fork out what Lyon are asking for though.

Lacazette, Riviere and Remy are all similarish types. They are those striker/wide forward types, and not really leading front men. Not sure you would want them leading the line, certainly not in our team anyway, as we don't play football on the ground consistently. Remy for example looked far better for us coming in from wide left.

If Riviere is coming in it will be as an alternative to Lacazette IMO. Considering we were aiming to get Lassoga, who is more of a traditional target man type, I would imagine we are after someone whith a bit of girth upfront that can hold the ball up and be more of a presence.

All signs point to a 4-3-3 next season. In an ideal world we were probably looking at a front three of Cabella, Lassoga and Lacazette. I expect Sissoko might be leaving us, unless the king has wised up to letting him play in midfield.

I still can't believe we actually pay for fees all up front when no other club does that.

Apparently allows us to get better deals, as clubs getting 9 million all at once, rather than say 4 million a year the next three years can be more attractive. Think it's clever tbh.
