Transfers are usually down to what the manager and club think. I'm pretty certain they're not bidding that amount for a player they don't think is worth it. Their track record is also outstanding of late, and so if you "hate" the way the club is being run because of this bid ... that is just astonishing.
-
I genuinely don't think we'd be at this stage if he hadn't. We'll know for certain once a bid is accepted.
-
We paid £63 million and included a sell on for Isak. These lot want £69 million and a sell on for Sesko. If we really believe in the kid then we need to make this work and stop messing around.
-
We included a sell on for Sociedad in the deal for Isak. Let's get back in there and negotiate one with them. Stop mucking about.
-
Knew it was something to do with the bid. They want a sell on clause included and probably more in add-ons. Think we should not faff about too much with this. Let's tie this up.
-
It's actually unbelievable how tedious transfers are.
-
Think the first one is still correct. Once the bid is accepted it should be all done.
-
If the bid was fully accepted by Leipzig and there was a delay then I'd agree with you. However, the delay appears to be from Leipzig's end instead, in accepting the bid. We've met the fee requested, but I think they are likely after more favourable payment terms or some sort of clause added.
-
So reports Sesko has accepted the Newcastle project. A bid goes in today, and up until now it hasn't been rejected or accepted. Meanwhile messages insisting that Man Utd are still involved and ready to enter the bidding, but still nothing concrete from them. This all reads like Leipzig are after something extra to seal this deal, either more money upfront or some sort of sell on clause perhaps, and are trying to apply pressure for that. If that's correct, hopefully we can resolve things soon.

Think Hojlund will be backup next season.
-
Interesting. Maybe opting to go with Cunha up top?

What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger Just as much of a chance we get a "Here we go!". Going to be a wild ride either way

It will likely be Sesko and Wissa, or perhaps by some miracle Sesko and Isak. If he signs it's going to be a great situation for him to come into and pull it altogether.
-
Unlike Isak, I think he knows that he won't get this sort of chance again after this season. However, I don't think he should push things too far with Brentford as I think it would be easier for them to make his life difficult and keep him on the bench. They already have the Mbeumo money to play with, and that Brazillian striker that was out for them last season, who was supposed to replace Toney, is back and will step in. I actually noticed he scored for them in their first pre season game, and apparently looked good.
-
He only just joined the other day. Not surprising really.
-
Yikes. I can appreciate his desperation, but Wissa needs to calm down a bit.
-
Not rejected, which is a good sign. And even better, no bid from the Man Utd side yet either. Likely finalising all the boring details of how much gets paid upfront and the structure etc. Think the actual number is fine, as even Romano has been saying previously that Leipzig knew we were willing to meet their number.
-
Very good
-
Oh dear, seems like they may be starting the damage control. Promising sign.
-
If we do sign Sesko, this move for Wissa will likely happen late on and will be dependent on what happens with Isak.
-
Oh dear

Doesn't even report that we have bid Likely because he has been the main one saying we are waiting for the go ahead from Sesko to bid They all seem completely discombobulated by the news that came out of Slovenia overnight and the bid that went in.
-
Would he say that to teammates about a club that hasn't yet bid in Man Utd?! Or does that again not tie in with what was reported out of Slovenia as far as Newcastle is concerned? Another important detail I think.
