  1. £24m is great business.

Not when you have a manager that will most likely spend it on

    A ) another kid

    B) Scott Dann

    C) All the above

besides i'm not too sure about that 24m figure.

    You better quit hatin' child!

When it's all said and done Arsenal will still finish ahead of you ... again.

Don't call me a child you Adolf Hitler fanboy.

Besides you continuously hate on us yet we're probably going to finish ahead of you.....again. Pretty much makes your point invalid.

Um ... Adolf Hitler what?! Okay then ... pretty weird.

I don't continuously hate on Spurs by the way. Said Adebayor and Diarra would be great moves just recently. Also stated you guys will beat boh Liverpool and Arsenal in the upcoming games, which I got clowned for, but I will be proven right.

I'm just being honest! You are a major hater on anything Arsenal. I mean they're your biggest rivals so it's understandable in a way, but your just so petty. Don't feel so inferior dude!

Unfortunately for you they will be better than you again this season too, sorry.

    :aww:

  2. Crazy, this situation they have with Adebayor, Bellamy, Bridge, Santa Cruz all sitting around on truly massive wages that basically make them unsellable (Wright-Phillips, also on the fringe, is "only" earning £60,000 a week; Adebayor is on £150,000, Bellamy on £95,000) and not even allowed to train with the first-team squad.

Wouldn't be an issue if footballers all weren't massive c***s and actually played the game because they enjoy it.

    :sadnod:

Such a f***ing waste of a career 90% of this country would kill to have. I'd struggle to find anyone who wouldn't play football for £1000 a week, yet these pricks are winging at dropping from £150k to around £60-70k. f***ing bellends

Aye, a f***ing sad state of affairs.

Not quite the poverty line is it. And to soften the blow of only having £70k a f***ing week wages, they get to play football in front of 40,000 fans every week. Poor lambs :(

Adebayor earns more than 28,000 times as much money as someone on the official UN poverty line.

Cool. Can you work out how many incubators for premature babies the tax he pays on that 150kpw buys?

You want to halve that number?

    You want babies to die?

      awesome.

  4. Nolan just wants another midfielder in there alongside him, so he can get away with doing less work, so he can continue his cherry picking ways. This guy is an elite con man.

He looks way off the pace at wham, looks even slower and missing simple chances he would have scored last season.

Think it turned out to be pretty astute business getting £4m.

West Ham don't have the defence we had in the Championship, and so Nolan will be quite the liability for them in midfield. Think they'll struggle to keep goals out. A lot of decent attackign teams in the championship this season too. As of right now, I don't see West Ham coming back up.

  5. Look why can't these guys just identify a striker whose price they can match and get it over with. It's too late in the day to still be haggling.

If they want a cheaper striker then just go take a gamble with one from the lower leagues, or one of the less well known leagues in Europe.

Long is looking like he could be a gamble that pays off for West Brom. Go look for a similar kind of move.

Not looking like it's going to be this guy at all from the sounds of things. Move on.

EXCLUSIVE: Nolan wants Barton reunion at West Ham

Published 23:01 22/08/11 By Darren Lewis

Kevin Nolan has urged his friend Joey Barton to join him at West Ham.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is poised to move for the Newcastle midfielder, should the Upton Park side get an offer that meets their £8million valuation of midfield talisman Scott Parker.

Nolan - who Newcastle sold to West Ham in June - insists Barton would be more appreciated in east London than he currently is at St James' Park.

Barton has a year left on his contract, and has been told he can leave the club on a free transfer.

"Would Joey Barton come here? Well, I came here, so I can't see why Joey Barton would not come," said Nolan.

    "It is a massive club.

"The way he has been treated over the last couple of years, he is probably looking for an escape.

"He knows I'm here, he knows Sam [who signed Barton for Newcastle in June 2007] is here and what we are about - I can look after him and he can look after me!"

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew admitted last month that skipper Nolan was sold because the club did not believe the 29-year-old had another five years in him at the top level.

Barton and Nolan formed the engine room of the Newcastle side that gained promotion from the Championship two seasons ago.

Nolan added: "It would definitely be good for me. Joey is a great player to play alongside and he is a winner.

"He tells it straight, as people know, but deep down he is a lovely lad and I get on really well with him.

"He would be a great acquisition to the squad if we got him here.

"I'm sure the West Ham fans would love him and the players would come to love him. They [will have] read a lot of things about him - some of them are true, but others are blown out of proportion.

"With Joey, you have got someone [who] when he puts on the shirt, he genuinely wants to win, and he wants to do the best for the club and the players."

    Desperate. Get real Kev.

  8. Chelsea have needed a creative midfielder like Modric or Silva since Mourinho left with his more direct approach, and they have failed to by one since then. Turned their noses up at Van Der Vaart and all.

They want to pass the ball around, but they don't have the midfielder they need to dictate things in the final third.
