  1. Shola is just extremely inadequate.

Received the ball really well once and turned towards the byline where Obertan was waiting for the pass in space. Instead he then tried a drag back towards the centre, and promptly had the ball taken off him by the second centre back.

Obertan was already looking quite threatening at the time. Extremely frustrating human being is Shola.

  2. To be a success he's going to a) need the ball and b) have some movement.

We are a pretty static side and last night showed it. Shola is immobile, Jonas rarely makes an off the ball run and neither does Barton. Tiote's job is to stay behind Cabaye. Only Ba and Obertan made attempts to move off the ball last night and they weren't even on the pitch at the same time. He's a great passer but it's a useless if only 1 player makes the effort to make the space.

Great point about the movement of our wide players.

Never threaten to get in behind, and it's one reason I would not at all be fussed with Barton being moved on.He's way to static on the right side.

Jonas is the same. Tends to wait for the ball so he can then run with it, rather than make the run in behind.

Obertan looked to do this much more and Cabaye linked up with him well a few times after he came on.

  3. f***ing holocaust goalkeeping

Really didn't look good at all on the West Brom goal.

Whats strange is that he seemed to see the ball all the way through, and dived in time, but the ball seemed to roll under his arms or something.

    Very strange.

  4. This keeper is definitely dodgy. Will be moved along on loan back to Spain next summer.

No chance. Anyone who's seen him play knows that he's a top 'keeper who would have eventually signed for Barca or Real if he stayed in Spain.

Has shown a tendency for lying on the ground and watching footballs roll past him.

My prediction ... he will be enjoying the Spanish sun with Xisco, on loan at Deportivo next season.

Clearly never seen him play before then. It's a test of his mental strength more than his ability. A cracking keeper suffering from confidence issues if you like.

Sorry, just messing about. I really don't know much about him to be honest.

Just trying my hand at being a naysayer for a bit. It was fun.

De Gea needs to be careful though. It's tough to shake that reputation of being a dodgy keeper once it sticks.

Surprised ManU went with someone so young and relatively inexperienced tbh.

Ferguson isn't very patient with keepers either, once they start droppign clangers.

  5. De Gea - the worst keeper in the Premiership?

Bit of a random tangent, forgive me forumites. How was Reo-Coker for you yesterday?

Looked excellent, possibly MOTM and what we've been missing in midfield really.

Good move on a free. Good player, when confidence is shown in him. I like him.

  7. Cleverley is fantastic.

Hasn't done anything major in this game yet, but England should thank God everytime they find a midfielder that understands the basic concept of playing forward passes on the ground, as well as maintaining posession of the ball.

No desperate hollywood passes from the guy. Really like him in central midfield.

  8. Young assist?

Yup. Went with him ahead of Nani in my fantasy football team. Quite risky.

Gets his deliveries in quicker though, so should hopefully reap benefits in this team.

Also usurped Nani on free kicks, which is quite telling.

  9. Young is such a f***ing knacker

He's on free kicks and corners, and also whips balls in more consistently than Nani.

In what is a better team, he'll also have a lot more room, with the focus more likely to be on the likes of Rooney, Hernandez, Nani et al.

Think Young might just end up with better stats at the end of the day  :snod:

Nani is also prone to getting into Ferguson's dog house, and so is more likely to be rotated with Valencia than Young is.

  10. Kaka, don't be ridiculous please. I hope Cabaye goes on to be a great signing. I can only judge on yesterday so far and the game bypassed him. Yes Nolan was garbage first half v Arsenal last season. He was also instrumental in our fightback.

    Now stop being silly.

You troll. I troll. We all troll together.
