  1. You have to imagine these managers have heard that Owen isn't getting much interest from any other clubs, otherwise why would they be so open about their interest.

So far we have a denial from O'Neill of Villa, a rejection from Whelan at Wigan and interest from Hull and Stoke.

Pretty filthy situation and he deserves it.

  2. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/2496930/Ahmed-Sheiks-off-Prem-League-club-buy-out-talk.html

BILLIONAIRE Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasim has denied buying a Premier League club.

Reports in the United Arab Emirates had linked him with a 60 per cent stake in an unnamed side.

But both Sheikh Ahmed, the chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Customs and Ports Department, and the Premier League insist they know nothing of the bid.

UAE businessman Sulaiman al Fahim also denied Sheikh Ahmed was behind his offer for Portsmouth earlier this week.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan became the first Arab owner of an English club when he took over Manchester City last summer

He says nothing about a championship club!

Clutching i know, but will get the thread bumping a bit!

    Sweeeeeet!

    This could be a goer!

  3. I think it's ultimately going to be really hard to judge this kit till we see how it looks in daylight with the whole team wearing it.

I think it's okay at the moment, but it could potentially look better or much worse when the team actually wears it.

One thing's for sure though, it's not going to be one of those kits the fans can wear out and about. Don't think it will work well with a pair of jeans etc.

  4. I'm hanging onto the hope that Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi understands that Newcastle are a premier league calibre club despite our current predicament.

I'm going to ride this pipe dream till it is kaput and then hopefully there will be another faint hope to hang on to. Things are way too depressing at the moment otherwise.

  5. Well if we're going to have to keep most of the players,l as it looks like it's going to be crazily expensive to move them on then this colour of kit will be quite appropriate for the yellow bellied cowards they all are.

  6. Ah! So now we know why all the players have been so quick to claim they wanted to stay. Just so they were in line for their loyalty bonuses.

It's just so disgusting. These players were crap all season and sent us down a division and then further cripple the club by hanging on for every penny they can get.

Looks like the club is in massive trouble for sure.

  7. With Barry gone Jenas just about s*** on what Villa have on midfield so i can't see what you are complaining about Brummie, you should be happy.

Because we need creativity in the middle.

Steven Defour is twice the price but has more ability in his excrement than Jenas ever will have on a pitch. You are linked heavily today.

The rating of Jermaine Jenas perplexes me.

  8.

    Owen is so dumb ...

It was definitely a stupid thing to do sending it to a select group of teams as it clearly offends the others.

Should have just sent it out to everyone out of respect and then had his pick of the ones who responded.

Just another clear sign of his arrogance imo.

    Clueless guy.

  9. Marca are saying that Real have received bids from Spurs for Heinze, Huntelaar, RVN and Robben which have been accepted by the club.   Spurs ITK's have been saying those players were on the radar for the best part of a month.

However, Heinze wants to fight for a starting place and the other 3 all have other offers to consider.  My guess is that Spurs won't get any of them.

Why would you bid for Huntelaar and RVN?

    You telling porkies again?

  10. A top four club is in for Glen Johnson.

    Overratedtastic.

I like Glenn Johnson, but he's the exact same player he's always been. Great going forward but a bit of a headcase defensively at times.

Would be laughable if as rumours have suggested that he is going back to Chelsea.

  11. Albiol's quality.... I think. Unless he's had an awful past few months. Negredo is also an exciting striker.

    Has Negredo moved?

According to Hunter on SSN, it's 50m euros plus Negredo for Villa and Albiol.

Aaah I see. Very good pickup for Valencia then.

    Good player.

  12. Say what you like about Shepherd he always backed his managers, even thouigh it was money we didn't have.

Like when he backed Bobby with just Bowyer when we needed to push on when we had the chance, or go for his own choices like Carr over Miguel etc. Meh. Besides, what is the point of backing managers when the managers you pick are for the most part penny dreadfuls.

Sorry, not having a go, just need to vent when there is a prospect of the fat man returning. O0

Aye, just like when he backed Souness with Owen and Luque instead of Anelka and Boa Morte, who probably would have cost about £13.5m less!!.

Didn't Sir Bobby also say (in his book) that Gary Speed was sold by Shepherd without his (SBR) knowledge - and he (FFS) even denied what he had lined up when confronted about it by SBR?

Aye, wouldn't sanction a move for Carrick either so we got Nicky Butt.

When all is said and done it all comes back full circle to Freddy Shepherd.

If Butt never gets signed we never get relegated.

What a freakin' thing that is.

pretty foolish if you think it comes down to that.

Aaaaaah shut your Face Butt lover!

"i like big butts i can not lie"

  13. amongst all the talk of carrick, anelka etc i'd like to point out the only one that ever got beyond hearsay and into printed quotes (i think) was fred selling gary speed from under robson.

The Carrick thing was in Robson's book too IIRC and Souness wasn't shy about telling the world how he was done over by Shepherd when it came to signing Anelka.

I'd like to think Freddy is savvy enough to sue when he's being defamed.

Souness wanted Anelka and Boa Morte.

Shepherd brought in Owen and Luque.

    God help us ...
