There was talk that interest in Bakayoko cooled significantly after this past season. Feel a bit bad for him because it felt like PSV were playing silly buggers with him because he wouldn't sign a new contract. They dropped him for Perisic, and I don't think he reacted very well to the whole thing with his performances then suffering. Still had some decent moments though. Scored a great goal against Liverpool at Anfield if I'm not mistaken.

Yes , and even before we begin talking about Howe improving him. How about Bruno playing down that right side with him, and threading him through when he makes those runs in behind at the speed he does. Also the effect his ball carrying down that side is going to have drawing attention and opening up space in turn for Bruno and Tino to exploit. And then his familiarity with Isak from playing together for the national team, and how we could benefit from that too. He's going to have better players around him, which will also have a significant impact too.

Those breaks with Gordon, Isak and Elanga will be electric. The low block stuff we'll just have to continue to work on. Tonali and Bruno need to step up in those situations IMO.

We paid £40 million odd for Gordon who had achieved nowhere near what Elanga has the past two seasons. Elanga has just turned 23 too. No chance he's going for less than £50 million. Be very fortunate if we pull that off.

It's looking like the same targets as we had last year. Last year we bid for DCL, Elanga, Guehi and Thiaw. So likely also see a bid for Guehi or Thiaw depending on how insufferable Parish is. And likely DCL coming in too.

I like Elanga and I'm pretty certain he'll do well. Everyone wanted Howe to get his way, so give him what he wants. He clearly rates him highly. As for the £50 million fee ... with 6 goals and 11 assists in the Prem last season, and 5 goals and 9 assists the season before, and only having just turned 23 this year, I'm not surprised.
