    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I just think he should be wary of forcing things too soon. I think they went with the right approach last season, not using him as much coming off that long injury. Don't want him breaking down all the time because too much was put on him from young. Anyway, I doubt much of this is true. Seems a bit much.

Anderson is four years older than Miley. He wasn't anywhere near the first team when he was 19, and was instead on loan in league two. Your comparison doesn't make sense.

He's 19 and was coming off a long term injury. He has to be patient and earn the time. The manager clearly rates him highly and gave him a huge opportunity in the first team in the first place. Talk of being willing to leave Newcastle to get regular playing time already, reads a bit mad to me.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I really like Miley and think he's going to be very good. However, I really don't think he's in position to be making these kind of demands for playing time already, if there's any truth to this. Would be pretty ridiculous if he is doing so.
  5. Lacked mobility and pace before. Can't imagine what he's like now, after a stint in Saudi!
  6. Another good move, I agree. They're targeting the right players so far.
  7. I have no issue with the players at all. Like I said in a previous post. They're both 25 and so it's likely their last chance to maximise their earnings, because after this contract they'll then be in their 30s most likely. It's these Man United fans trying to make out them signing is mostly down to their big club and it's prestige, and their fancy new project. Nah, Nope
  8. Can't believe that's all they've paid. Wow. Actually makes me feel sick.
  9. Yeah, I hear you. You're right I just can't believe how the finances they offer is being downplayed as a thing. I'm not having it.
  10. Yeah ... Joining Man United was certainly a great career choice for the likes of Lukaku, Pogba, Sancho etc. Really propelled them to the top and allowed them to showcase their best as footballers. But no matter. At least they got to go to lots of cool parties. Fantastic.
  11. Froggy man ... I'm really sorry, but you are pitiful. Did you just compare the farcical state your club is in to any kind of project, never mind ours?! You don't even know for certain if your manager can deliver yet and most of the players at the club are ill suited to how he wants to play. Your level of delusion is frightening. The transfer window comes around with a few signings and you just can't help yourself. This is exactly how you were getting carried away last summer after the so called great business you did.
  12. Yes, and I don't disagree with this completely either, you'll be surprised to hear! I'll explain. If both ourselves and Man Utd had done just as well as each other this season and went for a player, and offered similar terms, in those circumstances, then I'd imagine their history etc comes into play and has some more pull and sway for players. However, with all other things being equal in what is offered to players, I do not agree that such sway exists regardless of how bad their state is as a club. They have a huge financial advantage currently, which they are taking advantage of, particularly when it comes to the wages they can offer. Why they feel the need to claim it's not that big a factor I have no idea. If these "bigger clubs" truly felt this was the case, they wouldn't be so worried about our ability to spend more, since their "heritage" would still win out most of the time anyway.
  13. In fact, you know what ... if Man City are announced as having won their case tomorrow and every financial restrictions is thrown out going forward, meaning we can spend as we please, you really think we are losing out to these players, while Man Utd are in their current state? Give me a break!
  14. Some of you lot are as bad as the media and the refs. You keep telling me what they have done historically. They have fallen far off of that in the last decade, and you think because in that time they picked up a couple of cups it justifies signing for them all things being equal. I think it's nonsense. If they had to offer the same terms as a Newcastle or Villa, players will not go there. The higher wages is the advantage they have right now despite the state they've been in. We keep hearing how players aren't pulling their weight, the atmosphere is toxic, stuff is being leaked to the press, managers are getting thrown under the bus, but "they're a big club, and won so many trophies!" Who the hell signs up to deal with that crap just because. The inferiority complex is really quite astonishing.

I don't think it works this way. At the end of the day clubs still need to sell for PSR. The top clubs have always done business with each other despite being competitors.

For players they need, yeah. It would be difficult. They have that young Brazilian coming back next season and he plays on the right, and so they're quite stacked with options there. We also have a pretty good relationship with Chelsea at board level. And so doing business with them or their affiliate for players won't be an issue I don't think.

They scared Man City off with a £100 million valuation. I'm looking forward to us doing the same with an impossibly high valuation for Tino too. Big fan of the likes of ourselves and Forest showing that we are not here to develop and supply players for these clubs, but to actually work towards challenging them.

Anyone seen much of Strasbourg this season? And their winger Dilane Bakwa? He's a left footed right winger there that has had a good season and has drawn some premier league interest. Not seen enough of him to have any strong opinion, but the age and profile seems to fit with the type of winger we may look at.
  19. Let me make this as clear as possible, so you fully understand what I'm saying. IMO if Newcastle, Spurs, Villa offer the package you did, and a spot in their first team, I highly doubt they join you instead. You are out of Europe, you finished 15th, your PR off the pitch is terrible, your owners are "worse than Mike Ashley", there's holes in your roof, the stadium is rat infested, the staff are only allowed soup and bread on the premises, Rashford, Antony, Sancho and Garnacho are still moping around the place and killing the vibe, Onana is still clowning about in goal and no one is sure about your manager still. This is not a sound career move. Unless the financial compensation is extremely attractive over the others.
  20. Well, I disagree. So we'll leave it at that. I think you were more willing to push the boat out for the pair of them and that's largely why they went for it IMO. Particularly as they are both 25 years old coming from smaller clubs, and so it's pretty much their last chance to land as big a contract as they can before they hit their 30s. Delap is younger, and had interest from other clubs that were willing to offer him just as much as you did, and he opted to go elsewhere even with a clear starting spot available as your number 9, to supposedly lead you back to the glory years. The reports were that he was concerned about the state of your team and uncertainty over the manger's position too. And so the magical aura didn't work there, when the other offer he had was just as attractive.
  21. All things being equal I doubt you sign these players. Cunha had some character concerns that put other clubs off and certainly would have had them uneasy about handing him a big contract. Mbeumo as good a season as he's had, is a bit over priced because of it, and clubs are again unlikely to be offering him the wage you have, as his typical production prior to this season doesn't really warrant it. Both good players, and you've pushed the boat out in order to land the pair of them, and take a gamble that they justify the fees and wages, and it all pays off. Just own it man, and quit with the romanticism.
  22. Well @Froggy keeps telling us their owners are worse than Mike Ashley. So who the hell goes there expecting any sort of turnaround anytime soon. They are a mess on and off the pitch at the minute and their project is very much up in the air. I'm not buying this "opportunity to turn things around, biggest club" nonsense man. It's ridiculous.
