Looks like Thomas Frank is going to Spurs. Would quite fancy Spurs hijacking Mbeumo. The reaction would be out of this world.
-
I read yesterday Bournemouth asked for £75 million for Semenyo when Spurs enquired. It's really really wild out here in these Prem streets.
-
Man ... I fear for how we're all going to feel about him going to Bournemouth for that price a year from now. Dean Huijsen all over again.
-
Yeah, that could be it too, but could only see that if Wilson has realised his race is run, and he's ready to pretty much pack it in as a player, which might be the case.
-
It could be mind games from his agent to get him a better deal elsewhere. I could see that.
-
Yes, I get it. But the manager doesn't view him as being a complete write off. And so I'm trying to look at it from his point of view.
-
I can kind of see it if we are either looking at loaning Osula out or using him more in wide areas for now. And maybe we go for a younger rotation striker we like, but who may need a bit of time to acclimate to the Prem. And so maybe the option of Wilson for a bit of physicality and making a nuisance of himself is deemed worthwhile? Like others have mentioned though, he's going to want to play and so may not accept that. Hard to say really.
-
No. We've given up. It's too hard.
-
Question ... Is this acceptable if it helps us offer the kind of contract to Isak that means we can re-sign him? And then also sign a rotation striker from abroad that is more affordable, but who may need a bit of time to adjust? And so Callum is just insurance?
-
I see what you mean. However, it seems they get killed for these sorts of articles they put out, when they have no substance. But then again, maybe even generating fewm from them is deemed to be worthwhile. It's really quite unfortunate.
-
Or they are looking at Osula being brought along as more of a wide forward initially perhaps?
-
Regarding @Joelinton7's post just above about the kind of players Howe said we'd target, can they not look into that further. Maybe find out more about some of these sorts of players the club has scouted over the past season. And do some articles on those players maybe?! And how they'd fit into the team, and what they'd offer. Everyday it's some nonsense on Mbeumo, Guehi, Elanga and how were chasing them and it's going to be difficult to sign them. This is going all the way back to last summer now too. It's pretty outrageous.
-
That article is so toxic man As if we've only just started asking how much players will cost, and have been caught off guard with team's responses. Reads as though Edwards is just throwing the typical names out there and speculating we haven't done anything because they are too expensive. It's horrific all these guys put this kind of stuff out there to generate any kind of reaction or engagement they can get. In this case to feed into the panic setting in from some supporters and have them over react to this nonsense article. Doubt the guy has a clue about anything going on.

One thing we also have to start thinking a bit more about is the selling to Saudi option. South American and African players are much more open to playing in that region, and so if they don't quite work out, it's much more likely you get your money back, or even make a profit funnily enough.
-
There are strikers out there, but just not sure we'd do it. Think we're trying to land players that are going to be comfortable in the league straight away. Somewhat understandable, but also limits us to some extent.
-
Can only see it happening if we are also selling someone the other way for decent money. Something like Muniz for £45 million and Willock to them for £30 million.
-
Buying from any club in the Premier League now is going to be a case of paying over the odds if they want to keep the player. Unless they are in the last year of their deal and not signing a new contract. I keep saying it, but we are moving closer and closer to parity. Either teams keep their best players, or they get so much more money for them that they are likely to come away even stronger, as they are more and more well equipped to identify good replacements and more from all over the place. We'd better not overly limit ourselves to buying domestically, or we won't make progress like we hope too.
-
I kind of understand where you're coming from. He can have poor moments, but he can also have really good ones too. A few things that make me think he may be attractive to Howe is how good he is defensively/pressing, his aerial ability, and his work ethic and attitude towards improving. There was an article just the other day on him in that Athletic. And he already does extra work with video analysts etc to improve, similar to what Joelinton does. Worth a read: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6397105/2025/06/04/rodrigo-muniz-interview-fulham-brazil-maguire-van-dijk/

The price that's out there is £50 million. They do not want to lose him, but due to him going into the final year from next summer, will likely have to if they can't agree a new contract. There's been talk as of yesterday that Fulham are interested in Joe Willock, and so maybe that comes into play.
-
Fulham have an option for a further year.
-
This guy was linked with us when he was a youngster. Think he'll be on Nickson's list. Actually had really good numbers playing down the right this season, but is quite a versatile forward. Wonder if he's still on our radar. Seems to fit the type of player that we should be looking at that can play down the right but cover up top and also on the left too. Decent scout report here too: https://breakingthelines.com/player-analysis/evann-guessand-striker-winger-or-a-hybrid-forward/
-
Surprised by that. Had been a lot of talk they were looking to upgrade on him.
-
I think what's likely frustrated them is that when Joelinton got injured and Willock was playing so poorly, that he didn't get more of a chance to step in then. I think that's somewhat understandable actually, when I think about it.
-
Yeah, and he was getting decent exposure and time for his age. The injury was what slowed that, and he just needs to get back up to speed, and keep working on himself physically.
