He was a young player at Lecce. He was likely on around £2,000 a week there.
-
Honestly man, they're so insufferable. They really think these huge salaries have nothing to do with why players go there. It's all down to "aura", "pull" and "heritage". Absolutely shameless.
-
Go and find the right ones and post them and I guarantee my point will still stand. I doubt they are that far off. Honestly, this is just pathetic.
-
I see Man Utd fans are having a melt down because they're being called out for throwing over the top salaries at players like they have consistently done over the last decade, which has led to them being saddled with players they can't shift. Can't even be honest about the way their club operates, and just own it. There's a reason Rashford, Sancho and Antony will soon be back at the club, and hopefully you get stuck with the lot of them. It's also why Mainoo has the unmitigated gall to be demanding £180,000 a week, because he knows the score. Stop with the crying.
-
If we were to go with two up top like he did at Bournemouth, yeah.
-
Think he turned them down as his family wasn't keen, so they won't keep trying.
-
Yeah, not 100% certain, but perhaps they mix in one striker lineups at times. And also make use of Osula and Wilson at times too.
-
Really glad they didn't get £100 million for Bruno. Think it would have benefitted their rebuild massively.
-
That's what I'm wondering. I wonder if they may like the striker options available more than they do the winger options, and might be considering it. Would then mean Joelinton likely playing wide in some capacity.
-
When we were being linked with Delap, I remember one of the articles mentioned that Howe had told him the plan was to play them together in a different formation, which I was surprised by, and didn't know whether to believe it or not. Oddly enough we keep getting linked with strikers that would be looking to start. Out of interest where did you read that about Pedro?

How's the sale of Garnacho for £60 million coming along?

Worth reading the full article. Pretty reassuring, for those that are badly staining their bed sheets. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-talks-targets-after-31774175

So obvious this was likely the case. Was the same with Cunha. Players have a big opportunity to take advantage of their desperation this summer. Yet their fans will tell you it's because of the prestige of the club and their "pull".
-
Yeah, it's likely the wages. Cunha they supposedly gave £200,000 a week, and it's probably similar with Mbeumo. It's their typical play book really. Hopefully we continue to see it backfire.
-
Can you imagine?! If we don't get one this summer man, honestly!
-
Glad this decision has come so quickly. Was worried it would drag on all summer. Not 100% convinced we were all in for him due to the price at £60 million plus. Interesting to see where we end up going with that position.

I'd be so annoyed if we sold Tino to Man City. Would be a horrible move.
-
Both he and Elanga are 23 this year. Still room for growth with both. I wouldn't be upset if we signed Madueke, as I think he'd possibly look better in our style of play and would improve further. If I had to pick between the two though, I'd lean more towards Elanga that's all.
-
Well I don't see that creativity in Madueke, and on top of that his crossing can be hit and miss. Also think Howe is going to get a player more in style with how we already play, so wouldn't get my hopes up in that regard. But you know, let's see what happens.
-
Chelsea under Maresca can tend to be a bit slower in their play and can fall foul to the Pep side to side passing thing as Maresca is one of his disciples. Because of this they have come up against low blocks a fair bit as teams are able to get back and sit in. Madueke has not looked effective going up against these low blocks in these instances from what I've seen. He's just not very incisive in the final third. Elanga we haven't seen as much against low blocks, but his ability to deliver a cross is far more consistent and of better quality. I'd be far more confident of him making something happen. Regarding the right winger we sign, I don't think Howe will be looking for more of a play maker that opens up low blocks. I just don't think that's how he views things.
-
Wolves tend to get decent talent through the door. That new manager looks like he knows what he's doing too. Think they'll still be alright.
-
Forest play a counter attacking system. That doesn't mean that is all Elanga is good for. I trust Elanga far more to deliver a decent ball or finish a chance in the final third. Madueke can often be quite rash and snatches at things in similar circumstances.
-
Elanga has been the more productive player the last two seasons. Playing in a team with less talent around him. Madueke looks great taking players on, but is prone to making a mess of his final ball or shot.
