Matias was in England a few days ago for the Villareal friendly against West Ham. Did he fly back?
Manuel Fernandes was here for the Valencia friendly. Did he fly back?

If there is any truth is this mystery MAJOR signing, then I would like to raise a point no one else has:
It seems awfully unfair on Coloccini if they are announced at the same time. Because Coloccini is going to be a huge player for the Toon and should be made to feel welcome on his own. Not have his thunder stolen by this mystery signing.

It makes sense having them presented at the open day that's for sure.
If it is Coloccini, Derdiyok and this big signing is a midfielder then we are set.
I think it is likely to be a midfielder because of the mere fact we were in for Modric and we since haven't brought in anyone like him i.e. a central midfielder who can dictate our play.
If we were in for someone like Modric surely we are still looking to bring in a similar player having missed out on him?
Remember how we werelinked with Xavi? It was merely a mixup.
Xavi Alonso to the toon tomorrow!

KaKa, what makes you so sure it is this Boavista left back, and not another?
Wiki says he is a right back and defensive midfielder!
KaKa, explain yourself, otherwise you are in for an epic Fail.
Colombian U-21 left back Bryan Angulo, 18, and Yasser Hussain of Qatar, 23, have been loaned to Boavista until the summer. The former has been loaned by the Spanish intermediaries Inverfutebol, while the latter comes from Sporting Braga.
Boavista have signed Portuguese international midfielder Luís Loureiro. 31, whose last club was Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus. The Axedrazados have also secured, via intermediaries Inverfutbol, the services of Colombian international left back Bryan Angulo, 18.

The only other left back is an 31 years old.
This guy made a good number of appearances last season for Boavista and is very highly rated as an under 21 international. Just 18 yrs old too. Seems to tick the boxes as far as the youngsters we are looking at.
I think it is most likely this fella if anyone.

Wiki is wrong.
Have a look around ...
-
This better not be one of thetwo.
Nah ... this is more of a Bassong move.
Another promising under-21 international we can develop.
If he is indeed kept on he will most likely backup Enrique.
-
Done a little digging ...
Very highly rated 18 year old columbian international left-back.
Very likely the guy we have here on trial.
Boavista have actually been relegated due to bribing referees so they are struggling to hold onto their players. Anywya Angulo was on loan from South America anyway. It is thought he was actually bought by Betis and loaned to Boavista but apparently he is still owned by his South American club.

Guthrie's freekick
EDIT: Sorry corner.

I think in general the whole team seems a lot fitter and more athletic. We seem quicker.
Martins touch looks great.
Duff's pace is back.
Cacapa sems a bit quicker.
Good stuff.
-
Martins is wonderful.
-
Joaquin has looked alright today.
Looking a lot better than I remember him being of late.
-
Another stupid play there.
When in that position why wack it? Go low and accross the goal and it's almost always a good result.
Stupid.
-
Zoggy's positioning was shockin gthere. Should have been closer to Joaquin who had drifted into the middle.
Like the Zogster but I hope he never has to play at left back for us in any games that matter this season.
-
Zoggy is so thick ...
Why wack that?
-
Really liking this kit by the way ...
-
What a lovely pass from Martins just then to send Duff through!
-
Who was it that compared Gutierrez to Emerton again?!!!
Wow ... thats looking really stupid right now.
-
Of course there is the likely but unpopular possibility that he's just a guy enjoying his dreads and watching the football.
Killjoy ...
However I have heard Taiwo will be in the stands tonight.

Why do I see my facebook picture?
Without going into too much detail, it's pretty much because you're stupid.

How do you guys reckon Enrique would be on the left side of a midfield 3?
Arshavin seems to have the answer your looking for ...
-
Coubury, You've absolutely made my day!!!
Even when Sunderland were linked with him I was hoping it was a mixup and it was actually us after him as he ticks all the right boxes as far as our recent recruitment goes.
I like Enrique but he can probably afford to be brought along a bit slower. It will be a good competition between the two.
Taiwo is a physical specimen and bombs down that left side like a man posessed. His left foot is an absolute cannon as well.
Sunderland have no right to sign such a player. Lets hope he signs for us and joins his pal Martins.
Coloccini and Taiwo?! Plus Derdiyok?! I will be in 7th Heaven.
Jesus wept.
I've watched this guy for a good whil, ever since he was a youngster coming up through the Nigeria youth teams. He could be very special under someone like Keegan, who will encourage his natural instincts going forward.
He is a very committed player and is a pleasure to watch play the game. 100% always.
He isn't perfect but he will definitely grow and improve as he puts in the work.
Forgive my excitement. Having just re-read my post, it is fair to say I am somewhat embarrassed.
