I do sort of agree. But pundits and the media choosing to spend more time talking about the so called ‘big’ clubs is nothing new.

The mainstream football shows on TV almost always have ex-pros on who only know about the Prem and the clubs at the top of the table. The whole football media vehicle is built around that.

So whilst I don’t particularly like negative Neville. It seems odd to single him out in particular.

I'd go even a bit further.

Even the football fans themselves are this way too. Outside of their teams, they only watch the clubs at the top.

They complain players at other clubs are shit when they are linked with them and disparage any other club they think theirs is even slightly ahead of.

I find it all very annoying. All the 'We're a big club, you're a small club' talk by all fans just feeds into this nonsense.

If we have 60m+ to spend on him and this is dragging on surely we can go ahead and get one or two others, why does it feel like its either him or nothing?

It doesn't feel like it's either him or nothing.

What's wrong with you if you are mentioning Dan Burn and Titus Bramble in the same sentence? The disrespect BDB gets is insane when he should be one of the most loved players in the squad.

Saved us from relegation at centre back, then switches to his secondary and lesser position of left back and is part of the best defence in the league that gets us a top 4 finish.

    Agreed. It makes no sense.

Really nothing like Murphy? Granted my opinion is based on a couple of highlight compilations and maybe two matches last season that I watched but not intently. Based on these he's quick, direct, got a rocket shot on him and isn't avert to getting to the touchline and whipping one in, all characteristics I'd say Murphy has. He's more of a goal threat than Murphy and is left footed and the player he seems to be stylistically closest to in our squad is actually Gordon but I didn't feel this comparison was relevant as he's not going to replace/compete with Gordon while he would be expected to do that with Murphy or Almiron.  A totally different player to Murphy for me would be someone like Silva who relies of positional awareness to find pockets of space and great close control and skill to make things happen.

Anyway I'd love us to go for him if we were able to move on Murphy or Almiron as I think that would upgrade the RW options this season and if needed we could still go big on a RW next season.

I wouldn't compare him to Murphy because he is much stronger on the ball, and is a much better dribbler and shooter.

He is also left footed, and mostly looks to cut inside onto his left foot to shoot or whip in a cross. Although he can also go on the outside and cut it back with his right. He can also plays upfront as a lead striker and lead the line as he's around 6 ft 1.

Murphy isn't that great taking on defenders with the ball because he gets shoved off it too easily, and so either needs to be played in behind into space, or has to knock the ball into space and outrun his defender. His shooting and finishing also isn't that accurate.

That's why I said they are not alike.

If he can be bought for £20 million or less 100%. Given the current prices, his age and position I think it would be hard to lose at that price. My main concern would be that from the little I've seen of him he's quite stylistically similar to Murphy while I feel we need someone with a bit more skill and trickery to them.

They are asking for around £10 - £12 million.

And he is nothing like Murphy man.

Bad keeping. Arsenal doing what Villa did to them last season in this fixture. Should be losing comfortably. Taken their chances and now it’s game over.

Genuinely think if Trossard had started they would have coasted through this game.

He's on the same wavelength as the other players, while Martinelli's head is in outer space somewhere.

Martinelli regularly plays like a dog doing zoomies. Just runs about at a hundred miles an hour, often in circles.

Don't understand why he starts for them. Would be more useful off the bench against tired legs.
