He’s unstoppable on his day.  He’s not afraid to go wide and use his right foot. He’s cut across the defender too and have his choice of pass.

Yeah, he just attacks the space you give him and manages a great shot or dangerous delivery into the box.

Also shown he can have a shot on his right foot at times too. The boy is an absolute menace.

It’s the season 2023/24 and players still not showing Saka on to his right ?

He just goes right and plays dangerous cut backs across the box. Gets a ton of assist doing just that.

The guy is a nightmare to defend. Impossibly smart and efficient with everything he does.

  3. Having Timber and Partey at inverted full back able to come into midfield alongside Rice while Havertz and Odegaard just have the freedom to then get right up in behind the striker is a very very interesting setup that is going to add a lot of defensive solidarity to Arsenal, while still keeping a lot of creativity and goals out there for them.

There was some uncertainty about how Rice, Partey, Havertz and Odegaard would all fit, and this allows them all to feature together in roles that suit them really well.

They are going to be very good again this season and should really be pushing Man City again just as hard.

These fees are bad news for us mind, we are shopping in different markets but they'll most certainly inflate the market as a whole. Milan probably gutted they didn't wait a few months to sell Tonali now.

These are 'premier league proven' prices. I think these clubs are still being lazy with their recruitment to be honest. I'm not worried at all about them increasingly throwing these sums at individual players.

Alvarez is a pretty highly rated DM that went for £30 million, Amrabat for about the same. Palhinha went for a similar amount last season, Fofana can be had from Monaco for the same kind of fee right now.

There's players that are not far off from these guys that can be had for fractions of these fees, but these top clubs as soon as they have the money always take the most obvious options.

    AHAHAHAHAHA

I was on RAWK earlier having a little gander and they were sooooo fooking pleased with themselves.

Kept saying "why didn't we get Bellingham then" and most replies were "because we hadn't sold our players yet bla bla bla"

No, it's because not everyone wants to join you.

Liverpool fans have been going crazy this morning man.

The backlash from the Chelsea lot if this ends up in their favour will be hilarious.

Funny thing is that Southampton will take Liverpool to the cleaners for Lavia now.

That £40 million Man City clause next summer likely means they can't take the piss too much. Think they'll still take £50 million.

  7. My God [emoji38]

This is spectacular drama. What a start to the season man.

Just been watching Liverpool fans winding up Chelsea fans all morning.

If he insists on Chelsea and ends up there anyway, it is going to be brutal for Liverpool.

Can't fault the lad for wanting a big move and agree he's too good for Brighton, but I don't think he's handling it great. Just seems to be openly flirting with anyone in the top 6 who's after him.

Seems more like an excitable kid that's just eager for a big move.

Agree he needs to chill out a bit and just let Brighton negotiate the best fee they can, but I'm willing to bet the more public stuff has been agent driven, because they are always the ones most desperate for moves so they get their cut.

For me, Caicedo has done exceptionally well simply by performing to the standards he has and putting Brighton in a position to get so much for him, especially as he didn't insist on a clause when he signed a new contract recently.

This money just allows Brighton to continue to level up.

Is Caicedo the one that openly admitted to wanting the move to Arsenal last season? Now he's been leading Liverpool on and changed his mind? Seems a bit of a knacker.

Guy just wants a big move. Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea ... He'll take whichever.

He's just been getting over excited about any of the clubs that seem close to doing the deal.

The boy has done a great job for Brighton. Came in as a kid put in the work and excelled for them.

Brighton are about to make a £105 million profit on him and they'll continue to build with it. I'm sure they're happy with their investment.

i just think that’s a mad fee, if he doesn’t show up the type of form you’d expect for that fee in 1-2 seasons at one point does the potential matter? Just seems like you pay a fee like that for guaranteed results. The sure thing.

I mean he's already a high level performer in a lesser side and played a major part in them not only playing great football but getting into Europe.

Put him in a better side alongside even better players, and goodness knows what levels we could see. Even if he stays at the exact same level of player, he still likely looks better just because of the better quality around him.

  11. 3 minutes ago, Kanji said:

110m = you better be world class for an entire season and be the best in the world at that position. That is title challenging fee. Anything less is a waste of 30-50m they overpaid them.

If he was 26 or older then yeah, maybe.

A large part of the fee is down to his age and even further potential for growth.

The guy is only 21 years old!

Kossounou is another Leverkusen centre back that has the attributes we are after. Might be available on an initial loan too, to defer the payment till next year.

Just a shame he seems to have or is going down the route of posting 'As I said' tweets now, when things come off.

Well most of these guys get derided mercilessly when they start sharing info and so let that man get his shine when he is proven right.

    About £80m each.

If they both have good seasons this year then probably £120m.

Bruno is £100 million minimum already.

Isak if he stays fit will be too expensive to purchase. It would have to be completely daft money. His mixture of size, balance, speed, technique and composure is exceptional. Just needs a full season to show it all.

I worry about Brighton like. Can see about 10 years of Southampton being concised into 3 years there if they have one dodgy summer. They can't keep losing players like that and finding gems  who just slot in every year.

With the money they are raking in they will start signing better first team players like João Pedro and Kudus if they can convince him, and the young gems will keep coming in at the youth levels.

Don't think Brighton are going anywhere. Southampton's operation was nowhere near this slick.

  16. In actuality the MacAllister deal was so good due to that clause that if you actually look at the total spent for both Caicedo and MacAllister together it is probably around the right value for the pair.

  17. 6 minutes ago, gbandit said:

Football is absolutely mental. What the fuck is going on? How on earth is Caicedo going for £110m? I rate him but that fee makes zero sense. The game off the pitch has become an absolute pantomime madness

I'm quite comfortable with these top clubs spending this way tbh. I'm really beginning to think we catch them quicker this way.

That Caicedo money is what we pretty much spent on Isak, Bruno and Botman.

I watched the Arsenal Vs Monaco game the other week and the Monaco DM Youssouf Fofana was outstanding, a player I have liked a lot for a few seasons now, but one clubs have been hesitant on similar to how they were on Bruno. Fofana would cost around £35 million.

He's sat there while Rice and Caicedo have gone for over £100 million.

    We will catch these jokers.

Adams for £20 plus whatever they end up paying for Lavia will be far less.

To be fair I do like Adams and Lavia, and so they likely will be fine.

However, this debacle is humiliating for them, which is fantastic. Also at this moment in time Caicedo is the highest calibre player. Great mixture of youth, experience and was a key player in a fantastic side that plays the sort of football these buying clubs are aiming to.
