He's nowhere near as bad as he has played the last two games against pretty limited opposition. And that's what makes the whole thing so frustrating. He gets too down on himself and plays with fear. This leads to him dwelling on the ball because he's indecisive and second guessing himself, or he just starts playing it very safe every time, which invites pressure when we're trying to advance the ball. He also then stats mis-controlling the ball, scuffing shots and going to ground looking for free kicks under minimal pressure. It's so painful to watch man. Like someone already mentioned, his body language just looks so bad. He needs a serious shift in his mindset/mentality, to overcome these things for himself.
  2. Been so good for them man. So good playing off the front man as a shadow striker making those runs into the box.
  3. Malen, Asensio and Rashford look like very useful additions the rest of the way for Villa. The battle for Europe is going to be immense.
  4. Djed Spence is so good.
  5. He's been getting pushed around a fair bit. Will need to get stronger. Still really young though.
  6. Tel isn't up to it physically.
  7. Yeah, been good. Great movement for that second goal.
  8. Bailey is so selfish and dumb.
  9. Spurs man. Absolutely ridiculous.

If nine figure sums are a thing of the past then he's going nowhere unless he's in the last year of his contract, should it come to that.

They don't seem to understand £115 million was paid for Caicedo, which is the current Premier League record. And so that is the starting point for any discussion. If Caicedo cost that much, what on Earth do they think the best all around striker in the league will cost?! He absolutely should cost AT LEAST £150 million, if we're talking about a move this summer.

Arda Guler and £100 million. And we'll maybe start to consider contemplating the possibility of entertaining the idea of any further discussions.

Did really well in the lead up to the first goal too. He was solid.

I remember someone compared him to Collymore previously. Interestingly he said this today ...

These are the games we need him for, so it's really disappointing he doesn't perform in them, when he really should be above the level of the opposition. Doesn't bode well for us going forward at all if we keep him.

Yeah, he's got really quick tricky feet. Looked so dangerous running at their left back. And they then made it a point to just start kicking him. The dangerous thing about him on that right side as well, is that he seems very comfortable using his left foot and so he'll still also cut inside onto it like he did with his goal against Bromley.

Um ... no. Held players off well other than when he got fouled and took players on well with the ball. Strange comment.
  18. Yeah, I thought earlier in the season they were coming around and Maresca was going to push them on, but it hasn't really worked out that way. They're a decent enough side, but nothing really special I don't think. Spending a billion pounds for these results is pretty crazy. Brighton schooling them here despite trying to take all their staff and players is just funny.
  19. Good to see Wilson, Krafth and Targett come through okay. Will be nice to have some solid, experienced players on the bench going forward.

Was our most dangerous player. They realised it and started targeting him, which he dealt with well. Plays with a lot of confidence, and a ton of energy. Strong, good on the ball, and looks to take his man on relentlessly. A real viable option on the right, as he continues to develop. No one else in the team has looked as good taking players on down that right side. Going to be a very useful player.
  21. Longstaff always slows the build up and goes backwards, inviting pressure. This is just pitiful. Just granting them all the momentum and initiative.
