That wouldn’t annoy me as much as Everton, Brighton have history of being through players, as long as we have a sell on I’m happy with it.

Add-ons and a sell on percentage would be pretty key, if he's going to Brighton.

Could benefit massively from that in the long run.

I don’t think even they would at those figures. We would have to come down which I don’t think you can rule out at all

That nutcase spent a billion on players in about 18 months. He's capable of just about anything.

3-4-3 can be a lovely formation, the end of that season was wonderful, and then Ashley did what Ashley does.

Yeah, Rafa had us so well drilled in that setup. And the back three was such a great mix with so much room to continue to grow together.

Rondon's hold up and link up was great, and Ayoze and Miggy played off him so well.

There's something seriously wrong with Mike Ashley in the head.

  4. It's going to be an uncomfortable few days.

Chelsea and Boehly are psychotic enough to put close to £200 million on the table.

    Fun times.

    Loved Rondon.

That really brief period of Ayoze and Miggy either side of Rondon man. Could see something interesting was going to kick off with that.

We then had that 3 centre back combo of LeJeune, Schar and Lascelles at the back too.

All on the most miserly vindictive Mike Ashley budget, Rafa was still on his way to putting together something really enjoyable.

And then all of a sudden, Steve Bruce.

He was a good finisher under Ancelotti, a manager who knew how to use him. Cannot stress enough how much a manager matters to a player. We’ve seen it here with Howe digging at least half the squad out of the grave that Bruce put them in. I also dread to think how Isak would get on in that Everton team. Any half decent attacking player should steer well clear of them.

No matter how many times this is stated, they're not trying to hear it. In time the point will be proven yet again though.

It will be just like Rondon being rescued from Pulis ball. If you pull up the Rondon thread you'll see the exact same complaints about how awful he was when we went for him, until the games started and then he wasn't for us, under Rafa.

People love to bitch and moan about Chelsea's spending, but there's a reason to why they can spend as much as they do. They've sold homegrown talent worth hundreds of billions over the last few years.

    Yup.

Can you even imagine the reaction if we sold a talent like Lewis Hall? Or Maatsen who just played in the Champions League final?

But yet, such annoyance when Chelsea reap the benefits of it.

KI has repeatedly highlighted long term form too FFS but I suppose that's too long ago to count. Nothing but a specific patch of shit form will do. I'm not even a fan of his but the backlash from you lot is canny embarrassing.

Everything that needs to be said about DCL has been said now, no need trying to explain any of it further.

If and when he signs, August will eventually come around and the games will kick off, and then we'll see.

I don't think anybody really knows, outside the club at least.

    The Athletic article on the PSR deadline says;

"open to sales" is an interesting choice of phrase, it doesn't suggest a need to sell.

There's an article that just popped up from the Chronicle that also seems to indicate we aren't under pressure to the extent that has been reported.

Dropped off massively in the second half of the season I think

Always thought he looked good but maybe just lacked a bit of pace and is very one footed

Yeah, he's decent. Will probably be more of a squad player at Chelsea too.

Similar to what we did with Barnes. Can see the thinking behind it, especially as he knows the system already.

  11. To be fair Dewsbury-Hall had a phenomenal season for their new manager last season at Leicester.

Finished with 12 goals and 14 assists in the league over the season.

He might be decent to be fair. Pacy, two-footed, looks quite direct and hard-working. Scored comfortably above his xG two years in a row (though one in French Second division). Barely ever gets injured.

I could be happy giving him a shot as our Isak backup for say 15-20 mil.

some of the similar type players according to fbref: Thauvin, Jarrod Bowen, Matheus Cunha, Isak, Jonathan David, Nicholas Jackson, Lewandowski, Chiesa.

    https://fbref.com/en/players/4788cb6b/Georges-Mikautadze

Yeah, meant dodgy source for the link. He's looked really good in the tournament.

He's definitely going to get a move. No chance he drops down into division 2 with Metz, especially at such a reasonable fee.

Thiaw can play right back, cant he?  If we were to sign him then we could potentially switch around our lobsided defence from left to right when required with Thiaw playing the Burn role

A right sided centre back that could do that would be handy.

Seems fine to me. Krafth is a good defender, even if he's not great on the ball. Tino is the other way round, although I think he's had enough experience to be good defensively as well.

Yeah, maybe it would be fine actually.

  15. Very very dodgy source (football insider), but will share because it's pretty quiet, and a number of us were all loving his performance yesterday.

They've claimed we are among clubs that have shown an interest in Mikautadze the 'other' Georgian striker.

Metz have made his loan from Ajax permanent as they had an option to do so, but apparently are now looking to sell for £20 million after getting relegated.

Absolutely no one is freaking out they just have a different opinion to Kaka

    Here we go again ...

Must have been just me that read the plethora posts about Brexit Eddie, get him off transfers etc etc.

I’m not sure people are unhappy with this approach tbh, people were absolutely delighted when we got Isak. I think what you are referring to his people not being happy when linked to overpriced British players- DCL, Mctominay etc.

If anything, the excitement level goes up when we bid or get strongly linked to a potential younger foreign target where value for money is more likely.

Like @McCormick just stated, it's targeting players that are also a fit for how we play.

Yeah, they may seem like they are 'over priced British players' until they aren't when they come into the team.

Just as was the case with Gordon.
