What happened to the first time layoffs? Why does he now try to hold onto the ball so long? I fear he's been told to do this. It is not working.

Looks so far off his typical dynamic self. Can't even remember what the knee injury was, but it was the first long term injury he'd suffered for years I think. Would be typical if it's ended up robbing him of some speed and mobility right after we bought him. Hopefully it's just a matter of him taking a bit longer to shake the rust off after the long layoff. So far, not so great.

Eddie can we try something different in midfield please. It's mid January and the midfield setup is still putting the team on the back foot to start games and it's still costing the team points.

Just play him in away games going forward till he settles in. Looked far more comfortable and certain of himself away from his home "support", which is pretty tragic really

It's really got nothing to do with any of the front three. All the problems stem from the way the midfield fails to get a hold of games and consistently get the front three in good positions to have an impact.

Same thing every time he plays there now. Once again struggling to get any decent build up going because Mr. Tonali is just jogging side to side and can't take charge at the base of midfield.

I'm really getting bored with Tonali.

One thing that has always stood out with Carrick is his very cool temperament. Amorim was always all over the place emotionally. Not surprised to see the players look so much more relaxed and at ease today.
