  1. We’re not spending £35m on a striker like. No way will Bruce get money to spend. Loans all the way now.

not saying it'll be £35m but i think we'll sign at least 1-2 players like this lad from nice and joelinton who they think will be worth more later and are young etc.

we were paying +£10m fees for the likes of cabella & thauvin 4-5 years ago so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that ashley will sanction fees in the +£20m range if he's convinced he'll make more later as that seems to be the model they want to go back for

Yup, the deals for those French lads were not cheap throw away deals. Only the few French guys we got in that one Jan window when their contracts were close to ending in the coming summer.

Most papers are reporting today that the deal for Joelinton is already in place, and we heard a good while ago about personal terms being discussed with the winger from Nice, Saint-Maximin.

    This makes me laugh.

You need to transform your mind. Managers at Newcastle will not get money for anything.

Players with potential will be brought in by MA and the recruitment team and the manager will be told to figure it out.

The ones that excel will be sold for substantial profits.

  3. It seems Joelinton shares an agent with this St-Maxim fella we are also linked with. What's the odds that a bit of digging shows they same agency represented Gonzales, Doumbia etc??

If only we had a half decent local press to find the story in it

Now that is very interesting. Good spot

  4. You just know this world is so cruel that he is going to come in and pull off a Pardew 5th place season.

Just so we can suffer the torment of the media rubbing it in and MA lauding it over the fans.

    Bank on it.

  5. I am baffled why a young player would want to join this shitshow. Must of had a lack of offers elsewhere?

Back to the days of being a stepping stone. He won't be here long if he's any good, the tracksuit tycoon will cash him in.

But aren't there more appealing stepping stones than us?

    Depends ...

Probably not for what we are willign to pay for some of these players.

This is essentially a gambling game MA is playing. It's high stakes stuff.

Paying more for these types in the hopes of winning big.

When we got Mitrovic and Thauvin, others just weren't willing to pay what we did. Same with Gini too. Cabella ... etc etc.

Dude is just gambling with his mates.

  6. He'll slot seamlessly into the pint swinging, incompetent, jobs for the boys culture at the club.

Yup, it's all MA cares about. He wants the manager to eb someone he can be matey with.

It's why Hughton was dumped for absolutely no reason. He's too professional. Pardew, meanwhile, was chums with Llambias. McClaren was chums with Carr.

Rafa was the ultimate football obsessed professional, and it's no surprise that with how that went, they would completely write off a foreign appointment, that just wanted to do their job.

    Jobs for the boys indeed.

  7. I am baffled why a young player would want to join this shitshow. Must of had a lack of offers elsewhere?

It's an opportunity to showcase themselves in the premier league.

A lot of these players are typically talents that other clubs are hesitant to take a risk on.

MA is essentially positioning the club as one that gives them the opportunity, while then looking to reap the benefits for those that become a hit.

  8. I'd be raging if we spunked 36m on a player under Bruce when Rafa had to make do with Joselu for a season. I hope we get noone tbh

Rafa wasn't keen apparently, and preferred to have Rondon come back.

It's all about the age requirement, and players already identified by the recruitment team, which was why players weren't coming in under Rafa.

  9. Ashley has paid £4m apparently and it's all done. That'll come off the "transfer fund".

That'll be 0 in transfer fund now then or may have to bring money forward from next years budget

I'm almost certain we are going to bring in really promising players, and will be spending a decent amount.

Joelinton and Saint-Maximin are probably going to happen. I wouldn't be surprised.

It will be similar to when McClaren came to the club, where money will be spent on promising young players, and be given to the manager to use.

The manager is going to be Steve Bruce though, so it's made it difficult to even be excited about this type of talent coming into the club.

  10. This fat mess has actually gone and done it.

Another upstanding man of integrity to come into the club then. Just brilliant.

This is just classic Mike Ashley. Refusing to pay the compensation for him, but was more than happy to take money off Crystal Palace when they wanted Pardew.

    So disgusting.

  11. Are the only sporting institution in the world who deliberately aims for less?

    fpqWowx.png

and what a fucking coincidence? You support both piles of shit. Wish you kept your voodoo hex on Liverpool.

    And your name is Mike.

  12. I hope our quality players go. The likes of Lejeune & Schar in particular. Can see the likes of Ritchie & Lascelles happy under Bruce as that’s what they were brought up on but those two in particular need out.

It would be so awful seeing Lejeune and Schar start to be messed about and ostracised.

You just know once the likes of Bruce come in and start screwing up, these defenders will be the first scapegoats, because we need to 'get tighter at the back and take less risks'.

  13. My goodness Shola has so little character and integrity. It is so utterly shameful.

It is so interesting how certain situations allow you to really see what someone is made of.

That man will sell you out in a heartbeat if it benefits him in anyway. Awful stuff.

All the more alarming because he'll come across all decent and will smile in your face, but my goodness, the nonsense about MA today man. Terrible.

He claims to be a christian aswell.

Just words man ... 'I'm a Christian'. The way that claim has been abused to create some sort of good guy image. Yikes.

  15. He will never pay that compensation for Bruce.

This is the guy that left the club in the hands of that utter charlatan Carver, when we were threatened by relegation, in order to avoid paying the compensation for McClaren at the time.

I imagine they are looking at other options that are on a free. They were likely hoping Bruce would force Sheffield Wednesdays hand more, but he clearly isn't willing to.

  16. Okay, so at this point, I have to ask ... what are the chances some of these managers are using the club to get their names out there, or to try and secure a longer or more lucrative contract with their current clubs?

Fat Sam and Bruce in particular?

  17. It’ll be Bruce

not if wednesday are pushing for £5m or more compo it fucking won't

They’ll come to an agreement. It’s Bruce they want

Transfer negotiations over the last 12 years say otherwise. They never pay more than they want to.

Exactly. Think they offered £1 million and that's what it will be.

This is for a manager man. Not even a player

  18. Think they were relying on him either resigning or causing a stink and refusing to turn up for them.

Seems he's not up for doing that at all.

    Oh dear
