They sold him for peanuts and spent big money on that carthorse Beto.

Simms looked awful in the Prem when he featured for Everton. Wonder if their manager's setup might be the problem.

McTom is great at arriving in the box late and has an eye for goal but the rest of his game is sub-standard, you're basically sacrificing a midfield place for a goal every 3-4 games. He'd be perfect for team like Everton.

I think teams like Everton that can't use the ball at all are the worst teams for him in this role he's playing today.

You'd want him playing with other midfielders that can initiate play and move the ball around, while he pushes up in support of the striker.

    Which was my point.

I don't want us to sign him but he's made a few people look quite silly.

    He's clearly a decent player...for someone.

    Yeah, I agree.

The role he's playing today suits him very well, as a number 8 that looks to exploit space in the final third.

You don't want him dropping deep or showing for the ball really.

Let the other midfielders control the game.

That's 10 goals this season for a player N-O vehemently didn't want newcastle to sign.

Not wanting us to sign him is fine.

But someone was saying he was League two standard, and Howe's job should be under threat if he signed him

  5. All the links to box to box type midfielders were likely due to behind the scenes work we were doing for the possibility of not getting Joelinton's contract done.

I doubt we will be looking at this type midfielder this summer, now that Joelinton has been signed to his new deal.

But that's not how it works. There's more negotiations and negotiations. It's often just a dance.

All depends on how nasty we want to be about things. If we don't want to dance there will be no dance.

Our owners are clearly not going to go down that route though. We will need the money and to get the leeching gardener off the books so hey ho.

This whole saga is very public. that's the only difference between us hiring Ashworth and Man U hiring him.

Indeed, but they made it all public to apply pressure, and so no more meetings, and no more negotiations. The price is the price. Pay up or be on your way.

Arsenal get knocked out of CL and now the “rumours” start of them targeting Isak and Bruno…

    :memelol:

I can't wait for the summer and shutting all these jokers down.

Maybe i am insane but I prefer watching how we play in our pomp vs both these teams.

Honestly, these ultra control teams take things too far. Can make for some rough viewing, and as we saw with Arsenal can be infuriating when chasing a goal, and the team isn't on it and super precise with every pass.

Would be livid with that corner if I where an Arsenal fan

I can see why Arsenal fans are a bit crazy tbh

The team can be so infuriating at the most inexplicable of times.

This Bayern team has been poor and they were missing some players today too.

    Pitiful stuff.

  11. Arsenal are an embarrassment.

I've seen this Bayern team exploited so often this season by lesser teams that play with more urgency and directness that troubles their defence, and this dense Arsenal team play so slow against them. Passing for passing sake.
