I’m not worried, I’d rather he stayed but the silver lining is that we know way more than his fee would be reinvested in the playing squad.

You can’t just replace him like for like though.. impossible.

Football fans always talk about players being irreplaceable. It's the strangest thing.

Particularly because a lot of times the player in question wasn't even seen that way initially. Bruno cost £30 million and we had no idea he would be this.

There's no telling who comes in next and what direction the team goes in.

I honestly think it's all to do with that Lingard loan deal. We were absolutely desperate for a player like him then and we got laughed at and told to hand over a shit load of over valued money or fuck off.

There's no chance we were going to happily play ball when you came knocking [emoji38]

And you really can't help but wonder what @Froggy had to say about the Lingard carry on at the time ...

I have a feeling he will go to man united

He's being looked at by Arsenal, Man City, PSG and Real.

I think he'd burst out laughing at the idea of Man United.

I think Man City is where he ends up if he stays in the league, particularly because it seems Paqueta is headed there too.

Otherwise, I hope he leaves the league. Real don't seem 100% convinced by Tchouameni and so could see him at Real.

  4. Diomande signed Jan 2023 for just under £7 million.

Gyokeres signed summer 2023 for £15 million.

These two are already being hotly pursued by a host of top clubs, and could together fetch around £120 - £130 million this summer.

Wonder how Hugo Viana's interview went, because Sporting have been doing some serious work.

Genuine question, would you be calling us a joke if we had just paid £20m straight up?

I would have celebrated getting the money and taken a cheeky dig, but in reality I would have thought to myself ... man, these guys aren't messing about and know what they want.

Or even if you didn't pay it, just negotiate down in a more low key fashion, and get to maybe £10 million possibly, or whatever.

Instead Ratcliffe has been all over the place running off at the mouth, saying he's not paying more than what we did Brighton, and has now got Ashworth to take it to arbitration.

Very haphazard approach to the whole thing. I don't think the guy is coming across well at all, and at some point it likely bites you lot in the backside too.

They're not panicking....they're spitting the dummy out because they've been told 'no' for once and hadn't planned for it. Now they'll try every slimy loop hole to get what they're after. Hopefully our lawyers are better as that's the only way this is going to end. It won't be amicable, and no-one will be happy with the outcome.

Therefore i can see us ending up with man u paying what we paid Brighton for him, but him having to sit out his contract with us.

We're not happy as having to pay someone for doing nowt and having to find a replacement

ManU not happy as paying for someone who can't do anything for 18 months

DA himself not happy at being totally out of the loop on GL

'Football people' being pr***s means there's no winners here

If you saw Ratcliffe's interview after the marathon you'd see he was worried about not having people in place.

Far more pressure on them to get things in order ahead of the summer.

Aside from rebuilding the team, which needs significant work, they also need to get a new manager in place too.

We seem more than happy for him to sit things out and aren't concerned about paying him to do so. We are also already down to the final stage of getting in a replacement.

The joke is on Man Utd, and that will become increasingly evident.

  7. Yikes, blessing in disguise this guy leaving. Clearly a brilliant guy, but this man's character is seriously lacking.

Very very revealing this whole thing. Between this guy and what we've seen from Ratcliffe, I am very interested to see how things transpire at Man Utd.

I don't  think things are going to go smoothly.

Please post if you find it ?

There was one that covered the contacts world wide that he has, but can't find it.

But this one from the Athletic was a good read regarding his approach and mentality. The bit about player's mindset and character will be familiar as it ties in with our current approach.

After seeing Eze I would love to get him, better version of Maddison. Olise too would be awesome for that RW.

If Andersen wasn't as old as he is, he could be good for RCB, a like for like to put pressure on Schar

Ship has sailed on the pair of them unfortunately. They can command anything from £60 million upwards for them.

Another two that made their name in the Championship. We need to start paying more attention to that league.

Eze cost just under £20 million and Oliseh just under £10 million.

    Great business from Palace.

Dreadful from Howe. This play the same team that won the last game is such a basic philosophy. Totally different styles of play we were up against and a far superior technician in Eze who we let run the show without his wingman Olise.

Judging by his comments after the game he was clearly not impressed by the way our play was executed today.

Just because we lined up the same way, doesn't necessarily mean the instructions and approach was supposed to be exactly the same.

Howe has previously talked about having specific plans for every game, and we can never really know what tactics were discussed beforehand if the players fail to execute.

To be honest I've never been an Almiron fan, but I'd keep him till his contract is up as a decent impact sub behind a new RW.

I actually think he would be a big nuisance coming on late in games when players are tiring, as his energetic play and harrying would cause problems.

However, if we are offered that kind of money in the summer, I think we probably have to take it.

  12. Again a glaring lack of self belief.

This again led to him taking the easy option and looking for the referee to bail him out, as is typically the case with him.

Instead of doing everything he could to try and get a shot off from a great position, as soon as he feels the slightest touch, he chooses to go to ground, rather than take responsibility.

    Incredibly disappointing stuff.

  13. Just now, Beth said:

If they did we were mad not to take it.

Think the word at the time was Almiron wasn't keen to leave mid season.

Could see that happening in the summer tbh.

  14. 1 hour ago, Beth said:

Lets get fucking real for a minute man. Anyone saying we are going to get £15-20m for Almiron. He's 30 years old. Age is harder on wingers then any other position as the first thing that goes with age is pace, plus he's not really that good anyway is he. But dream on anyway.

Didn't a Saudi team offer £20 million in January?

krafth is a better RB than CB. BDB is a better CB than  a LB.

It's a hybrid system not a fixed one.

Didn't work tonight as it needed some changes based on the Palace team we went against. Worked a treat against Spurs though, so not as straight forward as player A and player B being better in a certain position.
