That will be the Wolves that are unbeaten in five away games, including at Spurs? Give over man, they're not a good team and we had no reason to sit back and play frightened like we did. I agree completely, I'm just trying to retain a bit of balance here.

The thing is, going back to previous posts, is that it is simply factually incorrect to say that Krul did not pass the ball to fullbacks or wingers or central defenders ONCE during the entire game. I think that we didnt win yesterday because we were far too bloody deep and defensive during the first twenty minutes of the second half (funny, just as Spurs have been once they went two up. Maybe Arry should be sacked), for which Pardew has to bear some responsibility and because Wolves had an extra man in midlfield. But when we had the ball, I saw a team trying to play football along the floor, just not successfully enough. And whilst I'm on this soapbox - just trying to bring some balance to the debate rather than be an apologist for Pardew - to say above that Pardew does not have a Plan B is patently untrue as well. His plan B was there for all to see when Wolves scored their second (not that we should have been forced into that in the first place) and for the last twenty minutes, we looked transformed. Again, plame Pardew for his Plan A or his Plan B but not for not having one. Right, I need to get back to the world of golf!

There are two main criticisms of Pardew - one the over-cautious, defensive approach and two the hoofball accusation. I think that the first - yesterday anyway - has some validity to it. The second, in my humble opinion, is absolute bollocks and has become something of an urban myth. I watch a side, including yesterday, who invariably play the ball along the deck and through midfield. We only resort to the long ball usually when there is no other outlet. Even the long balls which which were played yesderday were invariably pinged along the deck and reached their mark.

What is all this hoofball stuff? It feels like an urban myth to me at times. Yes we DO play the long ball a bit, mostly under pressure and more often than not when Best is playing, as he holds up the ball so well. But we play more football along the deck than I have seen for seasons and seasons. I know it's not a perfect example, but you can't watch the first half of the Fulham match and say we don't play our fair share of attractive, intricate, passing football along the deck.

"Papisse says McLeish is a reet dour c*** lol" I was actually surprised at how Demba remembered almost everything Cisse said. About the only bit he missed out was that Cisse said he wanted to thank the "Good God" and his team.

A million times better in the second half. Despite all Blackburn's corners, we looked a lot, lot better. For which I hope all the Half Time posters give Pardew some credit for. And for as long as Lovelypants and Obertan are castigated here, I for one will not forget how they combined for our second goal. Brilliant
-
That isn't correct. We have been awful since we scored. Prior to that, we were by far the better team.
-
He told me that the first half was the best 45 minutes he had had whilst at Newcastle. I said that you couldn't have seen thes second half coming and he said neither could he. Was a complete Gent actually
-
I thought he was brilliant today. ALL GAME. And even when he's not, his workrate makes him invaluable. Blackburn were sh............g themselves the whole second half with Santon and Jonas combining. Shame the same can't be said of the other flank. Not that Obertan deserves the dog's abuse he got today. Raylor looked world-class when he came on, in comparison with who he replaced.........

This is going to be bloody torture. Can you guys spirit me the score metaphysically or something please

Sitting on a f.....g plane that takes off for LA at 3pm. Won't know result for ELEVEN hours. Disaster. Wife has lost all the brownie points for this that she gained for buying me Subbuteo for Christmas...
-
What does the bold bit mean? Sorry, I meant until I was told.
-
Apparently................and this is from a direct source, Santon feel down the aeroplane steps when he arrived at Newcastle. He only told the club when he then pulled up ten minutes into his first training session. Not sure if this is known locally or not but I certainly hadn't heard it unless I was told.

Well I watched the whole march and thought we played really well going forward and got absolutely nothing from the ref or any run of the ball at all
-
Watching it in The Underground Pub in Dubai. Every Premier League match on a different screen. Loads of golfers here. Look very vulnerable ay the back but knocking the ball around really, really well. Really impressed with the way AP has set them up. Oh, and what an awesome goal

Very, very happy to contribute

Agreed. Absolutely unbelievable. Was 15 yards gained at times. That said, Mike Dean is forgiven everything for having the balls to make that second penalty decision
-
Krul deserves 8 imo. One of the best saves I've ever seen from a Newcastle keeper
-
Shut my eyes every time Moses got the ball
-
Rubbish. We matched Spurs pass for pass today in the midfield - possession and passing success statistics back this up. Agree. Completely. I think what was so exciting about today was that we realised that this side could actually be the real deal. By our recent standards in any event.
-
I thought Cabaye was everywhere. Quite surprised at the comments here. I thought he was almost as important as Tiote in nullifying the Spurs midfield.
-
Have to agree with this assessment 100%. Listening to some -educated looking - Spurs fans on the train who seem to genuinely believe that Spurs dominated the game. I assume that was not how it came across on TV, bar the opening 15 mins? It certainly wasn't what it felt like being there. Can rarely remember a better atmosphere than for the last 15 mins either. Even the Esat Stand was at it.
