It was atrocious yesterday I watched the same warm up and after his first practice kick, every one was basically fired straight at the fat bloke with grey hair. And his saving and handling in the warm up was perfect as well. I'm not ready to write him off yet, he had a great reputation and has a great physique for goalkeeping. Which is not to say that that cross yesterday and goal against Hull don't still make my blood boil.

For every position that Pardew wanted to recruit for, he apparently submitted (not sure if him alone or with Carr) a list of potential players in that position from number one to six. Part of his complaint with the club was that he always ended up with number five or six from each list. Gomis, Tadic and Alderweireld were nos one or two on the list for that particular position and apparently Tadic and Alderweireld wanted to come here but Southampton offered 40% more in wages. That is all from a manager source not a club source but I believe it.

I hadn't seen that timescale reported in the UK press?
