  1. I nearly s...t myself when nufc.com also mentioned his name in their report on the WHU match
  2. I laughed as well at the time. But these guys are on of London's largest firm of sports and entertainment legal firms and have no reason to make this up. I sincerely hope they are of course.
  3. Our London lawyers told us two weeks ago that Pardew was being lined up, to the extend that a draft contract was in place. I can only guess from that they they have prepared it. I refused to believe it but I am not sure all of a sudden...
  4. krul fantastic. Dominated his area. Harper wouldn't have come for most of those crosses
  5. Don't know if anyone else has said it but looked like Insomnia's second may have got a slight deflection.
  6. i think that is the worst penalty decison I have seen. Ever. The Chelsea fans agreed as soon as they saw the replay.
  7. can't get a ticket for love nor money outside the ground, so watching it on TV in their posh bar. There is nothing more enjoyable than being among away fans when yur team is winning....
  8. I agree. Blackpool did really well and we were far from perfect but the score was a travesty. And I actually think that Barton is starting to really look the part, now that he is fit. Still tries too many over-ambitious balls, but has real vision. And I did used to really hate him.
  9. Chris Waddle has got it so wrong. How many saves had Harper made/had to make?
  10. Definitely not. He has been a great servant and a good keeper but, due to his age, he is far too slow. He has made some good saves this season and a few great ones but I fear he will be badly exposed in the Prem, at this stage of his career.
  11. couldn't see in the second half but Williamson was our best player in the first half IMO
  12. He was just immense. I've never seen anyone more able (in this league anyway) to beat two players at once.
  13. Literally?! ps to be honest, part from our three goals, that is exactly how Swansea played against us at St James Park...
  14. It was clearly a different Carroll then I guess who sored those two goals against West Brom I guess. Tell me ANY goal that any of the above scored that was as good as either of those goals. Including Reilly's match winner against Liverpool. Yes that was horrible today and far too timid, but GET SOME PERSPECTIVE EVERYONE, FFS.
  15. in Orlando. Can watch it on Sky Player on my laptop but will it be on TV in Sports Bars?
  16. Trying to follow the match in Orlando using this slit-wrist thread is terrible. Every F5 is just unbearable!
  17. disgraceful penalty. Was 10 yards away ad he had his arms all over Kadar
  18. I thought Harper was perhaps at fault for the first goal. he doesn't make much ground across his goal at all when he dives, if you watch carefully. Sometimes his reflexes are fantastic, sometimes his movement looks really lethargic to me.
  19. Was it a good game on TV? Think that was one of the most exciting matched I've ever seen at SJP, certainly since we should have won the title in 96. We were completely overrun in midlfield and down our right side generally but I think the team deserves huge credit for not buckling and creating lots of chances of our own. Great game.

I know it's frustrating but I cannot think of another Newcastle player I have watched (including Ginola and Robert who I loved) bar Beardsley or Waddle who could have got into that position at the end. He bought us SO much time tonight. Compare the left side tonight with the right side.
  21. Jonas looks like he's never played football in his life before, in the warm up. Hilarious!

it wasn't just the run (stopping onside) it was the vision to see the possibility. he's not feet quick but a little nouse can go a long way and a great spot by nolan aswell. it's funny to me when everyones goes on about pace when you think of our better players in the premier era only gillespie and bellamy had pace to burn, all the rest had guile, nouse, technique and intelligence. Our two most successful periods in the premier were under Keegan and SBR, and both relied heavily on attacking players with pace. Keegan's key players: Ginola, Cole, Ferdinand, Lee were all quick. SBR: Dyer, Bellamy, Robert. We won tons of away games because of our lightning quick counter attacks. Lee had a great engine but I wouldn't exactly say he was quick and Ginola wasn't quick either. They weren't slow either. Both of them could motor when they needed to. But not what you would call quick. That's really funny. Not even quite quick.
