  1. Chris Waddle clearly never wants Newcastle to win ever again, now that he doesn't play for us any more. He's gone right down in my estimation. All that nonsense was caused by Barton being stamped on, unpunished.
  2. I think the club's offer of £55k until 2015 was more than fair. Don't forget that part of AP's contract involves redducing our overall cost base.
  3. i'm guessing that bad reputation goes way back to SJH and Fat Fred being in charge, i can't see us being "bad payers" now with Ashley paying the full whack up front. Yes, I am pretty sure he was referring to back then. I remember being quite taken aback about how vicious he was about us. Did you punch him in the face? I felt a bit embarrassed actually!

  5. Glad it went through. I met Michel Seydoux, the owner of Lille last year. It was a meeting about golf but we soon got onto football and he said that Newcastle have the reputation throughout Europe as being one of the very worst clubs to do business with. I think from memeory he added something about us being notoriously "bad payers". He was really quite damning about us. We were talking about Ben Arfa, I remember now, he said he was a great player but had a reputation in France of being "unmanageable"

    Joey Barton

Part of Pardew's remuneration is based on how much the club's operating expenses (wge costs for him) are reduced. I think that this fact will influence much of this summer's decisions - ones that seem logical to us and ones that don't.
  7. Just inviting pressure Inviting pressure? Have you been watching at all? Obviously not. I know it's frustrating but bar one sodding shot on target (that I can remember), those tactics worked superbly the whole half. Our finishing has been rubbish, that's what worries me. I give Pardew some credit for that performance.
  8. Same, I just can't understand it.ß Lineup looks spot on to me having watched it. Dominated that half from start to fininish. Scoreline not a reflection of the same at all.
  9. It's an engineering miracle that you can stand under a roof at this shithole and still get pissed on.
  10. He might not, you're right, I fail to see what happens in training to suggest that Ranger will only be any good if he comes on at a certain time. I have seen in actual competitive games that Lovenkrands is a weakness. Ranger looks better at everything Lovenkrands does except that he hasnt as much experience and hell not get that sitting on the bench. I am not sure that you can have been at the Fulham match in that case..
  11. A very specific part of Pardew's written remit is to reduce costs and the debt, to make it easier for MA to sell the club. Look at everything he says in this context..
  12. I wish I'd said this at half time. Was going to but didn't dare. In realise that we wouldn't have got that result if they hadn't had a man sent off but even in the first half, we played some good stuff. Other than Williamson (and Best), our football was good, much, much better than against Fulham.
  13. It's quite bizarre how affable they are, given what we know. Sorry, but it's the only word I can think of to describe them. You were that close and you didn't glass them?
  14. I introduced myself to him in the Directors Lounge tonight after the game. He was polite and affable and offered the opinion that we "will be ok this season"..... I also hovered beside MA as much as I could and he was affable as well with everyone he spoke to. The only nugget I got was that we have received "most" of the Carroll fee in one lump sum, which is unusual.
  15. Sitting right behind Al Fayed. Wrong bloody side of the Directors Box
  16. In all of this guys, don't forget (I almost had) that our info was that Pardew was given the very specific responsibility of reducing the wage bill as a condition of his employment, as MA feels that a lower cost base will now make the club easier to sell.
  17. Have the now dubious pleasure of being in the Boardroom and Directors Box on Wednesday night. Questions for MA on a postcard please...
  18. Guy who sits next to me - a nice guy - said that he was disappointed that Bale went off as he was looking forward to seeing him play....
  19. Enrique and Colo were immense today, as ever. Jonas as well. Better with the ball than usual but as importantly, he buys the team so much time when breaking out of defence. Still can't quite my head round why basically the same group of players are showing a zillion times more guts and spirit than two seasons ago. Spurs could have played us off the park with Modric in that type of form, but we chased and chased and chased.
  20. Harper 6? He made two terrific saves and kept a clean sheet man I honestly wouldn't give anyone less than an 8, as a team we were fantastic and no one had bad game. Aye, probably harsh on Harper. His kicking grates on me though. Brilliant, brilliant team performance - as you say. I wish Krul was still in goal but Harper's kicking is a million times better.
  21. Apart from that p...k, some of the songs were mint, esp the empty seats one.
  22. They sure did last season. Diagonal run from lovelypants and ball either side of the full back from Routledge for him to run on to.
