  1. If he plays more than ten minutes it’s an obligation to buy hopefully Yeah it’s weird how it worked out for him, made some big contributions in the fight against relegation. Goals vs Everton and Brighton and two (?) assists vs Brentford. There’s definitely some burnt bridges from their time at Bournemouth. Considering you have players like Dummett and Lascelles hardly playing at all but seemingly integrated with the team. We put him on the bench vs Bournemouth last season didn’t we? Almost felt like Howe making a point.

  3. Yeah I sit in level 7 and saw those lads in the queue. Pretty certain they were Saudi. fwiw they seemed pretty quiet and it didn’t seems like they were trying to wind anyone up.
  4. Heffernan getting an official announcement perhaps indicates they have high hopes for him? Perhaps reading too much into it
  5. Yeah only think we’d move again if a mutually beneficial loan to buy came up. Club seems to want to keep any expensive stop gaps to a minimum.
  6. I hazard this is part of a their ‘vision 2030’ plan so it will likely have to be self sustainable by then. They (similar to the Chelsea owners) seem to be going for the Netflix/Uber style approach of taking massive losses in the hope that you can achieve market dominance. It’s an absolute open question as to wether that approach works in football. For all it’s faults the Premier League is the the most successful league on its own merits, it’s an established brand and in the main generates the money that keeps it viable itself. For another tech world analogy, the Pro league is Threads - trying to take all the successful elements of the market leader but ultimately is providing nothing new.
  7. Dazn just got the rights to go along with the uncompetitive boxing matches they show.
  8. Maybe in the Middle East. As I’ve discussed on here before this is all impart a big tourist attraction to other Muslim nations. Outside curiosity no one in the west will give a shit.
  9. Still hardly sustainable unless the league itself starts producing actual talent.
  10. I get peoples complaints with FFP but what sort of madness would the last decade have been had it not existed?

  12. We’ve got exactly the same amount of scousers in our first team as they do. For a club that is supposedly prides itself on being the heart of the community they have a criminal lack local players. Wasn't it mentioned somewhere that they have been quite close at times to breaching the homegrown rules (possibly in Europe). Slight deviation but related, TransferMarkt stats actually show that we were the only club in the league that gave more than 50% of total minutes to domestic players. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/legionaereeinsaetze/wettbewerb/GB1/plus/?option=spiele&saison_id=2022&altersklasse=alle
  13. Thuram seems to have been left alone this window which is a bit strange as you would think he would be a default choice for Liverpool after the Caicedo/Lavia collapses. Wonder if his personal references were poor, as most teams seem to be more than okay with scooping up players before they are fully ready - Hojlund, Lavia etc. Guess it goes on the pile with the Jonathan David transfer that never happens.
  14. I think we’ll hear nowt and Eddie will say something vague in the presser.
  15. perfect in that he’d no longer be able to score against them
  16. I think it had been made clear he wouldn’t be number one and Courtois did his ligaments
  17. I think there are many folk who don’t fully understand the parasocial relationship with the players (at all teams, not just ours). They lose sight that the players are people too, young people at that. They carry a lot of the same insecurities, pressures that we all do. Being well compensated doesn’t make a lot of the shit they get okay. There are a sizeable number of folks who it’s part of the ritual go to the pub watch the game, slag off your own players, and if it remains in the pub it’s fine. But when these folks get on socials to try and directly vent at players it crosses the line at times. It’s the nature of the beast I suppose. Sort of strayed from the original incident here I suppose, which was just a clickbait post to start arguments.
  18. Yeah I’m in the camp that players should be strongly advised against socials, specifically Twitter. You really as someone of any public profile need to consider the worse thing someone could say to you and if you can’t handle it then don’t sign up.
  19. quite shocked at how poor their knowledge of our team seems to be
  20. We’ll get him back in a few years when the next Bohley fire sale occurs.
  21. Miley too unless we aren’t counting him as established first team yet
  22. Romano is an insufferable big club suck up.
  23. Get to live in Florence and there’s already another Scotsman there.
