  1. Harewood for our bench instead of the complete shite on it now.
  2. Nolan and Carroll have outscored him in a few more appearances.
  3. What on earth are you talking about?

    Nile Ranger

I do hope games like that will go the distance in convincing Ashley to buy a striker in January, but I doubt it. I'm really getting sick the back teeth of the shat-pack of strikers we have to accompany Carroll. Nile Ranger playing a full 45 minutes in the PL is nothing short of a disgrace. This is a player who looked like a little lost sheep in The Championship. And how's he ever going to improve here, by playing against the likes of Coloccini and Campbell in training? They'll just eat him for breakfast. He needs to steadily build a bridge to get to PL level, not take a run and jump - he'll just fall. He should be out on loan to Huddersfield, simple as that. Andy Carroll, man. What the f*** would we do without the lad?
  5. With Titus it was lack of concentration and intelligence. With Williamson i can't help but think he's a little bit out of his depth starting every single game for a PL club with mid-table aspirations. Case in point; the ball was knocked towards him on the near-side on about 70 minutes last night. He could have taken a touch and passed up sideways or knocked it long. Instead, he swiped it out of play. He knows his limitations, so did Scott Parker. Parker got early praise for getting the basics right and demonstrating consistency in a position that was crying out for it. In time, we turned on Parker and his sideways passing, just like Williamson will eventually be criticised for his complete lack of pace and ability with the ball. And he'll make mistakes leading to goals, simply because his best attributes aren't actually that great. I wish people on here would keep it real, keep it fair. I like the lad. He's ok, he'll make a fair few mistakes - as average defenders generally do. Sol Campbell just might be the better option, let's see.
  6. I think he's the opposite to Titus in many ways. Williamson's best attribute is his consistently. He's steady, a bit like Aaron Hughes before he stepped it up for Fulham. Ultimately not the answer, but he'll do for now, preferably as backup.
  7. Based on what? If Liverpool wins over there why not us. Stop it.
  8. He's been our best player so far this season, it's hardly a surprise that people aren't jumping all over him after one error. Likewise, if Carroll has a stinker on sat, nobody will be bumping his thread.
  9. So we should bump a thread every time a player makes a mistake? Dave would a loan to secure the space for Shola's thread alone, man. As for Colo, poor the goal but I liked the fact he was kicking and hitting folk tonight.
  10. That's the worst article i've ever seen.
  11. We'll need to win this, because we aren't getting nowt from t'Reebok.
  12. Alan Smith will come in on saturday, do OK and keep the shirt for the rest of the season.
  13. A fair few of us would have signed him permanently in January. Hindsight doesn't play a part.
  14. You mentioned Perch, not me. You're suggesting giving Campbell a chance to find out if he's still got it. Well what if he hasn't? We don't pick players to give them a chance, we pick players to win football matches. Up until tonight that's been going pretty well recently as it happens. Not against a certain style of play it hasn't. We're crying out for a bit of raw strength back there. As for the part in bold; I'd pick Campbell for us, not him.
  15. What people are refusing to do, is weight-up both players, or all three, even. Attribute for attribute, Williamson's probably the weakest of the three. It's all good pointing out that Williamson has done nowt wrong, but this is basically false, and completely the wrong mentality anyway. Success isn't achieved by accepting that which isn't wrong; it's achieved by addressing what can be more right.
  16. Doesn't really answer the question does it? It answers Madras' question, Einstein.
  17. What's that got to do with charity? Identifying our strongest Xl isn't charity, it's common sense. We can't do that if certain players (especially capable players) aren't getting a chance.
  18. You can use that stupid arguement with players like Perch, who've had a few starts. Campbell hasn't had one.
  19. There doesn't have to be a problem. There isn't one, as such. We can do better, though. I think Campbell and S Taylor are better players.
  20. May 2008. Sol deserves a chance. He hasn't started a game yet, how are we going to find out conclusively if he still has it or not?
  21. Why doesn't Campbell deserve a chance? surely it's "why does he deserve a chance ?". There's a cabinet of medals that answer that question. I'm sure Roy Keane is free to play too. Roy Keane retired in 2006. And didn't start for Arsenal last season.
  22. Why doesn't Campbell deserve a chance? surely it's "why does he deserve a chance ?". There's a cabinet of medals that answer that question.
  23. Why doesn't Campbell deserve a chance?
  24. Which is why the calls for Sol Campbell to get his chance are completely justified.
