it always is. Everytime he's quoted he never mentions NUFC. He just defends himself and his ridiculously overrated goal record programme notes to a huge game and he whinges on about his 'conversion rate' when was this?
-
I remember some daft fuckers on here saying they didn't want him
-
he didn't mean the clubs player of the year....he meant the national award, don't you remember............like giggsy just won( ) Even better credentials that award like, fucking hell Ginola's goal record and productivity dont even compare to Robert's man, honestly, how can you people have such short memories?
-
Steed Malbranque was player of the year for Spurs, and look where he ended up a few weeks later. What the hell is your point?

both players had fantastic first seasons and poor second seasons for us. i just seem to remember robert wasting so much more possession, playing fantastic crosses when he'd looked up and saw there was no-one there, taking ridiculous shots and free kicks which went nowhere near in the hope that 1 out of 10 might get somewhere near etc Too right. Obviously Ginola had his bad points; he didnt defend, he tried to do too much at times, and he didnt have that lightening turn of pace from his first season. But it was like he'd been trained in football etiquette, if that makes sense. I always got the impression that Ginola saw it as downright bad manners to misplace a pass or cross. I forgive him a lot of this stuff thought because you always knew it was there waiting to come out. With Robert I was never sure, and under Souness he was absolute dogshite. under Souness he was often benched for Darren Ambrose, Shearer was shite under Souness, Solano didn't look the same player until Roeder took over

Ginola wasn't fit to shine Robert's shoes man

Only just came back to me today that Everton missed relegation by beating Wimbledon 3-2 on the last day. Weren't they 2-0 down at one stage as well? Yes they were. I think it was one of the games in which the enquiry looked into Hans Seger's performance anyone who saw that game and knows anything about goalkeeping knows that Segers threw the game, twat

Looks like Owen's played his last game in black and white then. Cheers, you little cunt
-
No eye for goal was his main failing. He could get in the right place but didn't have killer instinct / touch. Always quite liked him, but it's almost pointless having a player that good who's that inconsistent with regards to fitness and performance. Yep,he was a very good player,in spite of his lack of confidence in his shooting ability, had he had the confidence to shoot, then he would have been an intrnational regular, probably usurping Lampard. Dyer, even at his absolute best isn't in the same league as Lampard

lubing up = Butt, R Taylor, Nolan, Owen and Duff in the same team
-
In terms of effort there's been an obvious improvement under Shearer. It's an easy thing to say, but it's absolutely true. And we've certainly looked more assured in defending as a team The problem is, effort doesn't get goals and never will

Hamann was brilliant for us, our best player by far in 98-99, just didn't want to be here Remember his sterling performance in the 1-1 against Arsenal at SJP. Scored the equaliser and looked classy all game, his tackling wasn't great back then but Speed next to him more than compensated for it
-
If they play smart and concentrate on wining the second ball instead of the first they should be ok. If they go shoulder to shoulder to Carew they'll both get anihilated
-
I'd honestly bring Oba on at half-time. Our most important player by a mile but really shouldn't be playing with that injury
-
one of the few to follow up free kicks incase the keeper spills it aswell. scored more than one for us that way. I actually only remember one tbh, Chelsea away in 2001
-
Acuna had a real knack of getting into exactly the right area, he was a real trier and had a lot of steel about him. He also looked like he might be dead, so obviously intimidated the opposition
-
Wigan's player of the year - Titus Bramble joins Faye, N'zogbia, Bellamy, Parker and Solano (first time round) on the list of players who were let go absolutely needlessly, and not replaced
-
It won't soften the blow in the slightest, and there'll be a piece of you fuming about the bet if we stay up. I don't know how people can bet against their own team, I did it once, never again. if we stay up I wont give a shite about the money, i'll be too busy enjoying the best day of my life I have £12 on Chelsea, Gers, Celtic, Barca, Arsenal and Pool, return of about £185 £10 on all the above plus West Ham, and Blackburn for a return of about £650, cant be arsed to check that one and of course £300 for us to go down which will get me a return of £530 should it happen
-
thank fuck, just got my ticket. I really dont think I could stand watching it on the TV
-
thought it was all nonsense, which is why I haven't commented until now
-
you were 7 when he left us. How did you see enough of him in a toon shirt to decide that?

Beardsley, Shearer, Speed, Robert, Solano, Albert, Lee
