With a first team full of Frenchmen I'm not sure the youngsters coming back with 'fuck your Pope' attitudes would be conducive to squad harmony.
  2. Big money for League One, like. LOL.
  3. Well yes, maybe if he'd arrived at a time of glory and stayed fit he'd have been popular. Him and Shearer banging them in 5 years earlier and I'm sure we'd think of him differently. But the fact is he was here at a testing time and he gloriously failed the test. Him and Shearer were always shit together anyway. Not only did he fail the test, we failed it by building the team around someone not even fit to wear the shirt.
  4. Lampard and Wilshere are better, imo.
  5. Aye and been f*cking awful every time, not to mention he's probably the best midfielder England has anyway. He isn't, like.
  6. Keys and Gray sniggered a a bit before realising what was actually said. He mentioned Tino straight after the remark and they quickly shut him up.
  7. Basically he couldn't see Les because he was standing next to something black. That was actually the punch line to an anecdote.
  8. And he's just offended listeners with a racist comment about Les Ferdinand.
  9. Two Taylors, both played in a very solid defence for virtually all of the first half of last season and he thinks Pardew's on about a midfielder.
  10. Vividly. Bellamy pulling up with a series of one-footed hops before sitting on the turf. Knew he was gone. They all seemed to happen in one game - our injuries this time have been building/growing steadily this time Similar scenarios though, for sure, immensely talented squad hampered by injuries and a poor manager. You know Bobby was manager then, right?
  11. They're Irish, though, mate. Don't think it counts.
  12. Unloved is an understatement. Nobody can stand the little prick. See, even Neville 'I just wanna take you knickers off' Southall knows the score. I just wanna what? A text he sent to the teenage lass he had an affair with. Always made me chuckle, the thought of him sending/saying that.
  13. Unloved is an understatement. Nobody can stand the little prick. Liverpool - Despised by fans Real Madrid - Forgotten about by fans Newcastle - Despised by fans Man Utd - Not noticed by fans Stoke - Not noticed by fans The Man U fans I know think he's a shithouse.

    Alan Pardew

All Carver did was go have a word with the little cunt before that PE teacher pushed him.
  17. You know I think you're a top guy, Dave, but that's a load of shit.
  18. Ben Thatcher apparently. Basically attempted murder.
  19. Captain ffs. We're on the verge of going down and he's only interested in writing articles defending his abysmal goalscoring record.
  20. His goalscoring record was never bad for us, but Keegan in-particular worked wonders with him. In a footballing sense, anyway. Giving him the captaincy was a bit of a brainfart and contributed to his increasing lack of interest. Somehow. Not whilst Keegan was here it wasn't. Was a bit of a masterstroke. It was a ridiculous thing to do which contributed heavily to us going down.
  21. My lasting memory of Halsey is comforting Carver during the tribute to Speed. Always seemed like a decent guy to me, but far too often makes an absolute mess of games and Sunday was the ultimate. Time to call it quits.

    Horror tackle

it's youtubeable. agree about burridge mind. sat behind him on a train from edinburgh and hte entire carriage knew who he was, where he was going etc, loud, arrogant prick. Oh, my God. Seen that one a few times over the years but didn't realise how bad it was. Scum.
  23. Pure conjecture. Of course. I stand by it, though. I genuinely think Krul would've been out getting both of them, as a keeper should.
  24. i'd have no problem with our players getting sued if they done something like that (especially in guthries case as it wasn't even a tackle, that was ABH). however it's going to be difficuilt to get a court to decide on intent etc. It really isn't. You don't actually have to prove intent per se for any criminal offence/negligence action against the person. but if you couldn't prove intent then it opens up prosecutions for injuries where there was no intent, do we want to go down that route ? Yes. If serious injury can be reasonably foreseen by the offending player the tackle shouldn't be made.
