No issue with him playing 15 minutes here and there. Problem is, he can't start games, and for that reason he shouldn't be any higher than 4th choice.

Try 25 years and you'd be right. They've been a non entity since winning the Cup. It's a shame, I always liked them when they were in the PL. Especially when they had Big Oggy in net.

Cheers. X -
Funny how Peter fking Lovenkrands managed 3 league goals in the time Owen scored 0 and generally spent his time hiding behind defenders. You can't blame Kinnear, Hughton or whoever for that.

Freddie was a likeable man.

Will Krul not be back? -
Im sorry, but what? Ethical obligations of a club captain? That's more important than his obligations as a husband then? The truth is that we don't know what the fuck is going on with Colo, but I have enough faith in human decency to give someone that has always been a model pro to not be low enough to lie about his wifes health. Well, we'll see, but I don't think it has a thing to do with his wife other than she wants to go back to Argentina too.

Feel real sorry for Coventry fans. For the best part of a decade they've been witnessing a slow crawl towards obscurity.

Him and a fair few other youngsters that 'came through' around that time.
-
Nobody cares that he went home while injured.
-
Mick's posts are the ultimate in being tenuous to irrelevant when his argument hits a wall, like. Shearer on a Jet Ski, ffs. Anyway, I think a lot of this discussion comes down to differing notions of what a club captain should be. Each to their own. Pretty sad what people are prepared to accept, though.
-
Nobody accused him of being an idiot. He's basically performed his contractual obligations, just not the ethical obligations of a club captain of a struggling PL team that's paid a large sum of money for him and to him.

One of the most level-headed posters on here just presented you with a list.

No coincidence he's playing so much better now he doesn't have to play the all-action role. Wonderful player when it's simply his job to keep the ball, occasionally win it and wait for the right pass.
-
If there's a fan out there that think he isn't doing anything wrong, they're not a true NUFC fan imo. He's supposed to be our captain. Can you imagine the laughing we'd do if a captain of one of the big sides or a rival announced he wanted to piss off for free to play in Argentina halfway through a season like this? I see it as a breach of his position that he'd happily sit in the sun watching us get relegated, which would've happened without January's investment.
-
No, I wasn't, but one game doesn't prove a point. Plenty of returning players have had great receptions. I hated Loven as a player but gave him his due when he left and would gladly clap him if he returned to SJP.
-
Both are in the same bracket as managers imo.
-
Don't remember Ba, Guthrie, Loven or Best getting much if any abuse when they left. In fact, who's abusing Colo? I think he's a coward and I stand by that conviction. I've no wish to dig the knife in, especially when it's a player I've supported massively on here and at the game.
-
Look at the state of that, man. Shame they didn't get a good kicking.
-
Still continuing that Hughton crusade I see. I like Hughton as a person and was one of the few on N-O to support him when he was made permanent manager here, but Norwich under him are absolutely unwatchable, dude. They almost make us look like entertainers again.
-
He was our best player when we made him captain and had a fantastic season to be fair to him. He's the best defender I've seen in our colours but he's no captain. I wanted to think he was, but he isn't.
-
Harsh to strip him of the captaincy. Is this serious? Cabaye can communicate with the rest of the team, leads by better example and doesn't want to sod off to play for some Mickey Mouse team in Argentina. Would be a twattish thing to do by the club. He's obviously got personal issues, we're the ones who've given him permission to spend some time back home while he's injured, you can't then go, 'oh by the way, you're not captain anymore'. We should've stripped him the second he said he wanted to leave. The only twattish thing here is him collecting a quarter of a million quid a month from a club who paid £10m for you and then saying 'I want to go to a club who'll pay fuck all for me, hurry up and make it happen'.
-
Watch them try to turn him into Grant Holt. He won't like it there. In fact, there isn't an attacking player in the world who would be well advised to go near that club.
