After today's game, I'd like to see N'Zogbia in the center of midfield with Guthrie. He may not have the passing and vision of a traditional center mid but he has pace and drive that would add a totally different dimension to our attack. 95% of our offense when we build up is down the wings and trying to throw it crosses to our strikers, totally bypassing midfield. We are completely predictable going forward. I'm a fan of Zog, admittedly. This is a move that can accommodate JFK wanting to play Duff. It might also make him change his mind and want to stay, especially since he defo isn't going to Arsenal. I would give one more shot at it before giving up on him.

4 games in and people are giving up ... unbelievable! Keegan's timing was ass, but the good thing is that there are another 34 games before the last whistle of the season. There's plenty of time to recover and I am confidently we'll rebound nicely. Is it really surprising that we lost today, given all the circumstances? Not really ... what's bad about the loss is that it's three points we should have taken easily, under normal circumstances. If only we the last two fixtures were swapped around! Anyway, bad losses are a part of any season - the key is to make sure we don't have too many, if any, more of these. The players are obviously not immune to what's been happening and it will have affected them more than the fans, albeit in a different manner. Once this transition period blows through, our squad is good enough to make a serious run at a UEFA spot, I have no doubt about it. Keegan's not the end all be all of this club, although reading this forum, you definitely wouldn't know it. Assuming the Board appoint the right manager this time - one who can work within Ashley's desired structure, can motivate players, has a sound tactical acumen, and can get the club playing attacking and entertaining football - and this whole ugly episode will be a distant memory by the end of the season.

Agreed. Takes an Everton fan to see that our window's not been nearly as bad as some are making out and in fact has been pretty good, even without seeing Xisco and Gonzalez. We've improved! We're not deep, obviously, but we're not in Europe, which negates that factor a smidgen. I've no doubt we'll be active in January (first priority selling Smith and Ameobi, hopefully), too. For those going on abt Robinho to ManShitty - look at them last year: made improvements to the squad and had a flying (half-) season. Raised their profile a bit, had a quality summer (of course, last minute gazillionaires help too). Let's have a good season, qualify for Europe, and then bring in more quality and quantity. IMO, the fact that we haven't been able to bring in more players is down to the club not wanting to sell, the player not wanting to come, or Keegan not wanting those who are available. I don't think we lack ambition at all.

If we've got a replacement lined up, I'd like to see him in first before we let Faye go. Otherwise, we cannot let him go, even if he doesn't want to be here. We are one season-ending injury to Colo away from flirting with the 12-17 zone again.

Looking back, IF it was Guthrie, Insua, and Hobbs, I'd take the deal, especially if there was another 1-2 million thrown in. Would solve our backup LB and CB spots (which we seem to be after, still) and allow us to focus on the other parts of the pitch.
