  1. From the Journal, Danny Simpson: Anyone think we might line up as 532?

    Football pet hates

Choreographed football celebration dances like the Adebayor - Bale vs West Brom(?) the other week. Bale's heart celebration. Anything to do with Bale actually.
  3. Stick Stevie Harper as centre half. He must be a better defender than he is as keeper.
  4. Imagine turning up to school after the new year and you take that out in class. Asking for a beating!
  5. Not ultrashit, but ain't that good. Short temper, likely to fly into tackles and get sent off. Actually, a bit like Cattermole.
  6. Ferdinand, Lampard, Drogba? Complete joke.
  7. Yeah be interesting to see what he goes for. Chelsea's defence is creaking so maybe he'll go for the more attacking approach which would be Sammy. AVB's famous high line means loads of space behind Terry and Luiz, who aren't the quickest. In previous games, Pardew's always opted for pace down the right (Obertan, Marveaux, Sammy vs City), but he's always played it safe on the left to accommodate for Raylor.
  8. iirc he is second. Schwarzer may be 1st? Nope, Vorm has 6. Schwarzer has 5.
  9. I'm sure Vorm has kept the most clean sheets in the season as well.
  10. Can't see Pardew starting Sammy on LW, knowing the defensive job that Jonas offers. Santon is probably the next best option.
  11. Slightly different, as Taylor was first choice LB from the start and the back four has played every game. Guthrie wasn't first choice. I can't see Pardew dropping Raylor. He had an off day and isn't as bad as everyone makes out to be.
  12. I still remember the 0-0 draw when Shearer was tripped by Tim Howard in front of the Stretford End and the ref refused to give a penalty.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Scuffed his shot. Poor tacklling to give the penalty away too, but thought he played well today. It'll be interesting to see if we play HBA or Best, once he's fit.
  14. Myself and a group of pals may use racist terms within our group (mix of Chinese, Indians and Pakistanis), however, we know it is in jest. Similarly, 'negrito' might be used affectionately amongst a group of friends, but when you're on opposing teams in a heated match and you've been narking at each other throughout the match, I'm afraid there's only one intent in Suarez's mind.

Daft. £30+ for a ticket. They should be having friendlies over England rather than just Wembley. Although I've heard that they have to be held at Wembley as part of their business plan.

  17. I think we'd be crazy to go in 442. Teams we've come against who play 1 up front (1st half of Arsenal match, QPR, Everton), we've always been outnumbered in midfield with only Tiote and Cabaye up against their central midfield of 3 and we fail to get a hold of the game. Play 451, drop Best and play Ben Arfa in behind Ba.
  18. Lose at City. Might get a point at OT. Man Utd don't look solid. They could have easily drawn matches against Norwich and Sunderland. Draw or win against Chelsea.

It's on ITV. I've sometimes found that site misses fixtures on terrestial TV for some reason.

  22. If we remain unbeaten after the weekend, as does Man City - then it'll be the battle of the invincibles on Saturday after international break.
  23. Pretty much agree with everything in that. I can't understand why you'd want to take either full back out at the moment. Unbeaten and the best defence in the Premier League. If it ain't broke... Regarding Obertan - hoping with more match experience (he only got 14 games over 3 years for Man Utd), he'll gain more confidence in taking on full backs. He's got the pace to burn and there were a few times against Stoke where he knocked it long and tried to get past the defender.
  24. I think Pennant's more dangerous, if he's back in the team for tonight. http://www.eplindex.com/stoke-newcastle-match-preview/ [\plug]
