Bringing the ball out is really hurting us - you have 2 full backs who aren’t progressive and you only have Tonali ‘showing’ - this will change when Tino and Hall return but I also feel he needs someone with in the middle (like a Bruno/Miley) - as 2 holding/Sitting midfielders

I think his best game for us was against Spurs tbh - when he had Willock beside him - he seemed to have a lot more freedom He looks lost in the current set up and it’s not his fault

I said it yesterday on this thread that we need a RB (an athletic one who can play CB too) and a LB - 2 full time players on each side You can then change it up and play Tino at LB if you so wish to on the odd occasion but we should never be in the position whereby we see Tino as a genuine LB option because we only have one full time LB at the club - that’s basically neglect on the clubs behalf

Playing a flat 3 in midfield is hurting us - said it before it has to be a double pivot with 1 ahead to link with midfield to the wingers and to the 9

Without Tino and Hall you can’t play these 2 together as full backs - we had to go 3 at the back with Schar coming in I would have gone Schar - Botman - Thiaw - you then have Schar and Thiaw to bring the ball out Murphy and Hall as wing backs - Miley and Tonali holding with Bruno behind Barnes and Woltemade It’s not worked all season and yet EH persists with the same tactics and personnel

He just doesn’t have it in him to drop certain players nor try something different - it’s the same every away game

Quite what Eng are seeing in him is beyond me
