I think more alarming is the output from the wide men - is it 1 assist all season (nil goals) - in the league? Between the 4 of them, my own target was 30 combined Gs/As for the league (roughy 7 per wideman) - seems way unrealistic now
-
The flaw with the system is that it doesn’t allow Woltemade to drop and potentially feed in either Gordon or Elanga - plus being so limited currently in the 2 full back positions offensively is really hurting us
-
The problem we have is the gap between the flat 3 in midfield and the CF and there is a lack of connection between the wide men and midfield. I said last season, we need to change the midfield to a 2 and 1 (double pivot) - fill that 10 gap and stop those balls played through our midfield
-
We signed the wrong profile of winger, regardless of Isak being here or not The profile we needed was an Mbuemo, Salah, Bowen type - someone to link the midfield and attack and to potentially score 10-15 a season - we didn’t need Elanga as we had Gordon who offers kind of the same
-
We play with a flat 3 in midfield - it needs to change to either 2-1 or 1-2 - it’s not working and positionally leaves us open - added to this it doesn’t allow us to retain the ball
-
The amount of times I saw Gordon up against their keeper - he played it to Van Hecke who then plays it out wide or centrally and we are outnumbered - the same move every dammit season. Why not hold back - let them come on to us and hit them on the counter
-
Well offer more and you won’t get slagged off - quite simple really
-
Tactically at 1-1 you tighten up - I knew we would be open and liable to concede - so poor - worst case take a point
-
What’s he supposed to offer? Gets ball, cuts inside and passes it - then the occasional floated ball to the back post That’s about it
-
We needlessly press vs this lot and get caught out - happens every season - do something different for a change
-
Same old tactics from Howe vs Brighton yet again - refuses to learn from past mistakes
-
At 1-1 we were so stupid - needed to be disciplined - we were too open
-
In fairness to Brighton they have scouted and unearthed quite a few talents to then sell- something we should be doing also to help with PSR We are also a disaster when it comes down on loaning our youngsters
-
Musiala > Wirtz Surely they have someone better than Adeyemi on the right?
-
In fairness they’ve created nothing for him last 3 games I’ve watched
-
Big Nick hauled off
-
The team is full of selfish individuals
-
Germans not letting Big Nick take the pens ffs
-
Still a bit of an adjustment needed from the team to give him more opportunities but that will continue to improve as we get more and more used to him
-
Yeah I was thinking something along the lines of the Isak/Gordon combo from last season - just to disturb their 2 CBs
-
If it’s Gordon and Big Nick - I can see Gordon high up and Nick dropping slightly
