  1. They’ve got the usual away section and the L7 corner so just the 8 Milburn L7 blocks left which I’d imagine will go on sale tomorrow.

Lyn Spencer. She was a teacher at my secondary school in the late 80's. Married that baldy c*** Roger Thames iirc It was Paddy McDee.
  3. Because it didn’t look a fifth down, and in anyway 42,000 turned up at a boycott, a waste of fucking time man. It did like. Lots of areas with huge swaithes of empty seats. Back of the Gallowgate, Upper Leazes, all over Level 7, Platinum club all well under 80% occupied and loads of 2s, 3s and 4s empty dotted around the rest of the ground, even in the central seats in the East Stand. I think low 40k or in other words 80% full looked about right. Certainly no more than that. Much less people inside than at any game last season and we dipped to 48k v Burnley as a comparison. Also the stadium plan can be rather misleading. They had sections W and X in the Leazes L4 as being sold out but they turned out to be less than half full. Mate I couldn’t give a fuck, either way you look at it, the whole thing was a failure. I completely disagree. If Rafa had stayed this match would have sold out weeks before even with no away fans and there was large gaps present especially in level 7 and the back blocks of the Gallowgate. When I had a look on the saturday Block V alone had 302 seats available, add in the fact the club were on a massive PR campaign, handing out free tickets and hyping up the new signings I would say at a minimum 10,000 boycotted. If we take it as read that over 10,000 ST holders cancelled (my family included), are we really to believe if they hadn't that over 57,000 newcastle fans would have wanted to attend ? I think not.
  4. After supporting them all my life and nigh on 40 years a ST holder I along with my wife and two sons cancelled the DD's in January. My sister and brother in law are not renewing. My next door neighbour, a platinum club member from day one isn't and i know of at least 8 more who have catagorically told me if that if Rafa leaves they will also not be renewing. This is my small circle of friends, I believe the folk saying there'll be 50,000 present against Arsenal are in for a shock.
  5. For the folk asking where's this and that here's an insight as to what happened. We talked about this last year and actually started the gofundme 5 months ago and out it on our Twitter etc. I can't remember the exact figure but in the first month it slowly got up to £700 or so., but then with all the anti Ashley and pro Rafa campaigns it was put on the back burner. We thought about abandoning the idea and giving the money back or giving it one last blast thinking it would crawl along and we'd do it for next season all being well with Rafa. With this in mind we told Dan our designer he had months to knock something up, well, it went crazy! We raised the total in about 3 weeks and with the prospect of the Liverpool game being Rafa's last plus the fact it would take 3 weeks just to print the material never mind stitch it all together poor Dan had to design then draw all the landmarks in a week. I'm not really sure how vectors work but basically he put in a 70 hour week and this is when he's self employed and just had a bairn. We had a massive list of landmarks and we all agreed that the city centre usual suspects had to be on, we did have Bamburgh castle , Lindisfarne etc on but it was simply a matter of space (and time). For Durham cathedral we really had no choice, nearly half the merch we sell is to a DH postcode , we have a massive Durham fanbase which was present long before 1992 and didn't just happen with Keegan's arrival as our friends down the road would have you believe. Anyway I'm from Whickham so technically Co Durham and I've been going since 1973! It's also sent the mackems into meltdown which is never a bad thing, as it happens Andy one of our group lives in Doxford Park, he's a Washington lad and been a mag all his life so they're lucky we didn't put Penshaw monument on. We thought we'd make it a bit lighthearted so we hoyed a few fans on with flags, a domestos advert ,a Ringtons van, a bottle of Lucozade ( if you can find it) and various other things. Btw it was me that insisted the cows were on, can't have a flag with local stuff on and not have the Toon Moor Coos on can ya ??
  6. It's a Greggs shop, we didn't want to fully advertise it so we just put their logo on
  7. Basically lads the timelines are incredibly tight, we ordered yesterday due to getting the design sorted, it's going to take 270 hours printing then needs sewing together. It won't be ready until the morning of the 2nd and we need it in toon by Friday night or early sat am at the latest . We don't yet know what time the Liverpool game is, it could be 12.30, nobody's sure. We can't leave it to chance on the day so we need a trial run getting it out and in so we thought it better to collect ourselves so it's totally in our own hands. The price I was quoted for haulage was £1200 and we've had a van donated by a lad so basically it's fuel, ferry/tunnel and digs on the way out so no difference really or even cheaper. Anyway the three lads going are buzzing to go !! The lads are driving solid on the way back taking turns.
  8. Now there's an idea, imagine if we added Penshaw monument 😂
  9. Be next season now, we're doing brilliant but still need a hell of a lot more. We'll still be doing displays this season though, we wont stop just because we're fundraising for the giant flag.
  10. Absolutely, places like Consett and especially Stanley are pretty much mag. I'm 56 so I remember when everything south of the Tyne was Co Durham.
  11. Nothing's finalised yet but to be fair there's loads of mags in Co Durham. I can't speak for the whole group but for me personally I don't really care what them lot down the road think.
  12. Apparently there's a comments bit on the main gofundme page ? Sorry I'm useless at modern technology !
  13. Funny you should say that, we're going to try to encourage that for firstly Everton but also for every match so it just becomes the norm.
  14. Hiya lads and lasses, just to give you all an update. We decided to get a new surfer a while back as WAU is getting a bit bashed and needs a bit of TLC so we set up a gofundme 5 months ago but due to the general air of gloom it sort of took a back seat. Since Almiron's arrival there seems to be a bit of a buzz around again and after the reaction to his display we thought we'd test the water and push it again thinking there might be a little bit of interest. Bloody hell its gone nuts ! We're only pushing it on FB and Twitter so far but we've raised nearly 4 grand in 2 days !! The WAU was £3,300 but we thought bugger it we'll go bigger. After lots of discussion we ended up deciding to fill the whole Gallowgate, this we believe will be a UK record size for a flag. It will weigh 35 stone and cost the thick end of 15 grand !! The basic theme will be to celebrate Tyneside/ Northumberland and a little bit of Co Durham. It's not quite finalised but will be our proud heritage, landmarks etc. Obviously NUFC features quite a bit ! We have a plan in place to form the letters of a phrase/name we're putting on from the names of every person who donates. Donaters can also leave the names of folk they'd like to be next to in the comments, family members etc. So basically could all you fine folk click on the link above and donate whatever you can. Myself and Heron have always noticed that when we mention stuff in this place there's always a mini surge in donations so thank you all for your continued support. We realise not everyone loves this stuff but I believe the vast majority do.
  15. Like I say we decided to keep it pro manager and team inside. Certain individuals actions stopped any momentum on the protests outside but that's another story. Any anti Ashley stuff from us will have us closed down immediately, not because club employees would want to do this , we've had nothing but help from a lot of them, one in particular. I can't see the point in producing something that will cause the end of something that in my humblest the majority of fans like. We did argue long and hard about using the WAU surfer given its title but we decided to go ahead purely to support the team and not dwell on the politics of the message it gives. Surely we're in the ground for one thing and that's to hope and pray the team win. Do the flags and banners aid this ? Who knows but surely it's better to try ! As it happens all members of WF's are in the corner or block V and attempt to encourage the atmosphere for 90 mins not for a few minutes pre KO.
  16. One more thing, we're nothing to do with leazes flags ! Things look a bit messy over there ATM.
  17. As it happens I don't take much notice of Twitter comments etc but I do on here as I see you all as quite a sensible bunch ( honest) , we got a bit of a bollocking about the Rafa Spanish and keegan banners but not too bad. We were more or less told any more and we'd be gone so we all sat down and discussed the way forward , we decided to keep positive inside but not outside , hence the hope, honesty , contempt and house of Benitez banners.and various stunts down the quayside and Tyne bridge. As it happens every WF member was at every protest, the last one being nearly exclusively WF members as no one else seemed bothered and out of the 20 members every one was going to boycott and some still did. The comments on here will be noted and I'll pass them on as constructive criticism is a good thing. We do try to gauge the support and yes maybe the lascelles thing we got wrong ( it was 50/50 btw) , personally I loved the last one simply because I hate the way the media call them United but again that's purely a personal thing. I'll admit I wasn't a fan of the tweet, I'd prefer to leave it at the image. Again I must emphasis we are not a secret group or anything , none of us knew each other before this malarkey so if any of you want to join of help out just shout.
  18. Shame you all feel that way, we got a great reaction from fans around us . If we ever do an anti Ashley banner that'll be the end if it and tbh we love doing the displays but hey ho can't win them all !
  19. Hiya lads, please spare a minute or two to have a look at our latest fundraising ideas. We're trying to get funds direct to our account thus not having to pay fees to gofundme. Share as much as possible amongst your fellow mags. Cheers. https://www.facebook.com/WorFlags1892/photos/a.607068209471098.1073741829.606960479481871/1005294202981828/?type=3
  20. Hiya Lads and lasses ,everything has arrived today so 7 of us have been in since 5 sorting stuff out, Heron may still be there! We're all back in tomorrow from 4 onwards and then all day Saturday. I'm pretty confident It's going to be stunning and everyone will love the theme. We've got some fantastic big 5m wavers but to achieve the full potential we still need folk who can wave them, if any of you are interested give myself or Heron a shout , they're big but honestly they're not too heavy and its bloody good fun.
  21. We started this whole thing because he stayed and the reaction to the Spurs game. Without him we'd be nothing, we'd probably be like them down the road.
  22. Thanks for all the brilliant comments lads, it's really appreciated. If any of you want to get involved just get in touch, we like to keep a low profile but we're far from a closed group. We're all basically strangers who've got to know each other through this flag malarkey although I did know Heron already as I stand just behind him in the corner.I've got to admit it does take up a lot of your life and we've lost a few along the way but in a way that's a good thing as we've now ended up with a totally committed tighter knit group who never argue. We used to argue a lot and I mean a lot ( usually because of one certain individual!). As Heron has stated previously we are not the voice of the fans and it's difficult to hit the spot every time. The Chelsea game for example,we debated wether to have an anti Ashley theme or full on Rafa love in, in the end we decided on celebrating this 'championship' bunch of players ( as the press kept referring) as firstly they deserve it and Rafa always says its not just about him and secondly there's a good chance Ashley will be going ( please God) . We just try to reflect the mood and personally so far I think we have, like I say if any of you fancy it get in touch, it's hard graft and were quite often in until 10.pm on a Friday night but you do get to walk down the tunnel all the time, I'm 55 and I still get giddy every time I do it !! Sad eh ?
  23. The club apart from the keegan quote have loved everything we do and basically let us run the displays now. I can guarantee that a single clapper will never be seen or heard in SJP.
