  1. £3k for 417 flags is just over £7 each, assuming half of them are small blag and white ones (maybe 1ft square) that you could maybe get for £4 each, that still averages the rest at £10 each which is either a great deal or else they are going to be tiny It was a great deal , I placed the order , the smallest flags are 1.5x1.5 metres the largest are 3x2 although there's only 11 at this size but these are individual designs, the other 460 are in 1.5x1.5, 1.5 x 2.5, 2.5x1.5 and 2.5x2.5 metres in 14 different designs ( vertical, horizontal , broad, narrow ,chequered etc etc The actual total ordered was 471! But that's just from our group, we've had loads donated . If any of you are in the gallowgate and would like to volunteer to wave a flag send your name, block, row and seat number to [email protected], you could also follow us on Twitter @gallowgateflags.
  2. Went to the ticket office today for a friend, got there at 2.30 7 staff on and had to wait in a queue. Rafa man !
  3. The blue star will be prominent !! The one thing the club would'nt allow was for the advertising to be covered which is a shame, basically because the plan is for the 'corner' to be filled with like minded fans, were hoping large and small 'waver flags' will be prominent throughout the game. its all a bit of a culture change to be honest so it could be a slow burner or it might take off straight away. If the stars are all aligned and we stuff Fulham ,sell out, and it's a cracking sunny day we could hit the ground running, but at the end of the day its up to us (the fans) really. Aye the 'noise and the passion' will be there.
  4. Incredibly the club have been brilliant about everything , the fans liaison fella genuinely seems excited by all our suggestions and nothing's a problem with image use for example. I think the vast majority will like what we have planned , it's a bit frustrating for all concerned that we can't give out concrete info atm, this should be addressed hopefully by Wednesday at the latest. As you can appreciate were a group of lads who've come together , we get an idea, get quotes then have to go to the club and this takes time. If we can succeed in what we are attempting I honestly think the majority of our fans (and other clubs) will be impressed, we're not quite the 'yellow wall' just yet but we could be on our way !!
  5. This post amused me from the perspective of the people working at the club, feels like they've been let off their leash to actually help people and be nice and s*** following 8 years of treating the fans like absolute s*** "Flags you say? Yes! You can have flags, any flags you like with massive sticks full of nails if that helps. You can leave them round at my house and all mate, I've got a van so I'll bring them to the match every week for you. Owt else, need a lift home? I'm going your way now, where do you live?" You've pretty much summed up the meeting !
  6. Sorry to keep pestering but we really want to show the club that there's a big,big support for this venture , we've raised just over £1000 (which is brilliant) and have over 900 followers on twitter but basically we want more !! If you could all spread the word as much as you can on twitter FB etc that would be fantastic. If the majority who like this idea could hoy a few quid in aswell this could really work. Cheers.
  7. Right chaps, one of our group had a meeting today with the fans liason and health and safety officers and I'm delighted, nay buzzing, to report that the club are 100% behind us! They have no restrictions on the size of poles and sticks, so large 'Kop style' flags are absolutely fine. They are really keen to get a better atmosphere and hope that displays etc would help get fans into the ground earlier to improve the atmosphere. They will provide storage free and are basically going to help in any way they can, they also want us to choose the prematch soundtracks to get the ground rocking! Again we must point out that any pyros (flares, smokebombs etc) are completely a non starter. They also pointed out that they (and we) would like all flags and banners to be pro NUFC and pride in our city, region and not targeted at opposition teams and fans. Please note our last donations page was Just Giving but as we weren't a charity we weren't allowed to use it, therefore we are now using this site www.gofundme.com/gallowgateflags - any donations would be greatly appreciated, along with following/sharing our twitter page at @gallowgateflags. Many thanks.
  8. The meeting is mainly about the use of poles and sticks for flags, at present we are led to believe the limit is 0.5 m , this would be extremely limiting! I can't speak for the whole group but I would personally prefer it all to be fan funded only. We also need to establish somewhere to store the flags and banners .Again this is no way an ultras type thing, it's purely a group of fans who want to attempt to recreate the atmosphere at the Spurs game for every game, it might not work but we can only try !!
  9. Hi, just to let you all know that we've arranged a meeting with the club about what we can and can't do, sorry it's been a bit quiet for a few days but we need to know what is allowed . I've had a few questions about the funding page ,again we are waiting clarification from the club until we activate it as we don't want to ask for money when we don't know precisely what it's for ! The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday so hopefully we'll have some positive news then .
  10. I really hope the club allow us some sort of freedom, it could be quite a spectacle if our plans come to fruition . Most of the designs are really positive and reflect not only pride in our club but with the city and our fans. I can't stress enough that any political or personal abuse of the owner will result in this venture ceasing immediately . This is purely NUFC fans hoping to make SJP a fortress of noise and colour (in a monochrome sense).
  11. Hiya lads and lasses, I don't know if any of you fine folk have seen or heard of this new group? Basically we are a group of lads who reside in the 'Strawberry Corner' who by the means of True Faith (although independent) have got together to form a group dedicated to making 'The Corner' and adjacent Gallowgate a cauldron of noise and colour! It would be great if you could take the time to have a look at our website and Twitter and you will see what we are trying to achieve, at present we have great plans but are still awaiting clarification as to what the club will allow, for example, size of sticks and poles for the banners. This is in no way an ultras group (if we were then the club wouldn't allow us to make bigger flags like we are aiming to do), simply a group of NUFC fanatics who want to wave flags and banners and create a cacophany of noise! Cheers. Twitter: @worflags Website: www.worflags.org.uk
  12. Talked to loads of mates who jacked in over the last few years , nearly all of them are looking to buy again on 6th June, can't believe I'm looking forward to next season so much, amazing what a bit of hope can do .
  13. Great news for season ticket holders later today apparently !!!!
  14. I really don't understand why people have a problem with this, it's for one minute,if anyone doesn't want to do it , fine, don't applaud, I knew John so I applaud for him.
  15. The fact that 96 families never gave up the fight against establishment lies , could you imagine if this was us and all the authorities and media blames it on our fans, I for one will applaud it wholeheartedly .
  16. What else can they say? True, but we all know in reality they are all bricking it, if they had got Benitez in I would be hoying up.

Its really weird reading the smb at the moment, the back slapping and uber appreciation of their 'awesome classy club' is slightly disturbing tbh. Oh aye, and apparently we are all scum !!
  19. So were 4,000 down after another year of shite, amazing really.
  20. Canny crowd i reckon after our start and live on the box.
  21. Sounds ridiculous but I'm a man of 52 and I'm in bits!!! I feel like a family member has died, I attended the protest and honestly got no pleasure in it at all , blokes in wonga tops drinking in nine bar holding up ashley out signs !!!! That man has killed our club and I will hate him forever.
  22. Right that's it, jacking in after thirty odd years, me,my wife and two sons have had enough. We've amassed over 300 loyalty points between us, does anyone know if these are held on file or something?
  23. Sorry, but that is totally uncalled for, the point i was making is that i find it a bit upsetting some of the comments that people are mongs etc just because they happen to love a football team and just happen to want to attend every game and want to win every game and quite frankly have been through a lot, lot worse than this situation, also i have not discredited the protest, i was trying to make the point that people on here have a go at loyal fans for blindly following the team. As it happens i didnt like pardew and did want him gone but i'm terrified what will happen next.
