  1. They reckon in the 70's Millwall were too scared to come up to Roker Park now !!!
  2. Does anyone think that these 'commiserations' posts by 'new members' on the SMB are just weird mackems posing as neutrals to make themselves look really popular?
  3. Lads and lasses, it's a full display on sunday, hopefully everything we've got will be out but we're hoping that everyone else will do their bit and turn up with scarves, banners, balloons, streamers, anything that you think will add to the occasion. We're encouraging fans to buy spanish flags to salute the gaffer, cheap as owt on eBay and Amazon. Cheers
  4. Has it sold out ? Lad at work was trying to get online but can't get to the ticket page !
  5. I'm not condoning violence but it was funny to see that Leeds fan getting a few on the way out of the corner, no doubt he's a hero to them as he gained an extra couple of minutes of injury time.
  6. Wonder if the ground has a bit of a wash before the rugby finals, I went to the top bar in the gallowgate on sat for the first time in years, you can hardly see out of the glass, it's minging.
  7. We've had a few enquiries from fans in the leazes, all lasses as it happens. It will happen I'm sure but with the numbers we have now it's busy enough just sorting the gallowgate. The east stand and milburn I'm not to sure !!
  8. We were going to keep the design a secret until tomorrow night but it looked so bloody good we couldn't resist it !
  9. Just to let you know lads we've ordered a 6m high by 5 m wide silhouette type flag of Rafa, it will be held up by 3 8m poles so it should look mint, hopefully be here for the villa game. Another thing we are going to try and push is for all fans to start bringing scarves to the match to twirl, wave of whatever ( can't think what else like!). We're trying anything to try and improve the atmosphere as I think you'll all agree QPR was a new low and frankly embarrassing as it was live. Saturday was a lot lot better but sadly it's only really the corner and sometimes the main gallowgate that generates any noise. One positive was that when the Blaydon Races was sung in the last minute it went all round the ground and was imo spine tingling, this proves it can still be done but some folk need a push , we're hoping we can in some way help with this push. HWTL.
  10. Absolutely. i I'll suggest it to the rest of the group, personally I'm all for it.
  11. So we will be able to welcome Lansbury to SJP after all, should be fun!
  12. There was a problem with the middle pole, the flag company didnt put a seam big enough so it didnt hang properly but i think we the message got over.
  13. 11 million match day revenue, is that all? I would have thought with an average gate of 44,000 it would have been a lot higher!
  14. After the meeting last night we decided to go for the odd 'big display' rather than trying to get the black and white wavers every game, if there was 20-30 of us if wouldn't be a problem but when there's only half a dozen if us it's just not doing it justice. For various reasons,at the wolves match there was only two handing them out and six at the end collecting them in!. TBH it's all a bit of a learning curve but we are definitely not packing in. Ps, this isn't some sort of closed group, if any of you fine chaps want to help or have any ideas send an email and join in. Cheers.
  15. WTF is all this 'lads' shit ??
  16. We only handed them out to people who emailed gallowgate flags, we gave them a password, I would say about half were handed out and none went missing yesterday ! A bit strange because we had about 300 emails and some of those asking for two flags. We're looking to push on and we are going to have a bigger display for the wolves league game.
  17. You looking to sell? I live in bristol but would rather not sit in with the home crowd. Yeh got four, only two can make it. If you want you could meet my son at the turnstile, pm me if your interested .
  18. No, we were politely asking fans who were walking out with them at the end to hand them back, some did but nearly every member of the group had some sort of confontation, one of our group was told ' howay then, take it off me' ,I despair sometimes. There was a group of about 20 of us at the ground last night until dark and back today at 12.30. We are thinking of scaling it down a bit, it was a lot harder than we thought and to be honest we feel a bit deflated after the thefts, although i hope you all agree it did look stunning.
