Was just bizarre. No-one was even close to him, he was in our half, just randomly decides "well, normal players would just control this and pass it on, but I'M NICKY BUTT DAMMIT!" and overhead kicks it out.

Pleased with that. No-one had a poor game, players that weren't great (Butt, Nolan) were still very solid. Enrique and Jonas started kind of lazy but got better and better as the game went on. Every game Colo plays he's looking more and more a Premier League defender, looks like he just needed time to settle. Guthrie can cross better than our wingers, and I love Shola.

Really pleased for Grant, ever since his dropping to his knees in (I think) a Champions League semi-final I've loved the man. Plus Liverpool's collapse has been hilarious.

No-one is saying Owen was the only one to blame, no-one is saying that if he looked like he cared he would have kept us up. He was our captain and he didn't look bothered when the team was teetering on the edge of relegation. That is why I don't believe he deserves to go to the World Cup. Now stop putting words in peoples mouths, of course the whole team was shite, that doesn't change the fact that Owen showed a complete lack of effort and lack of respect for the club.

He doesnt deserve it why? Because you expected him to turn around the team single handedly yes. If he performs well he'll deserve it obviously. Fuck off man. He was our Captain, and he didn't give a damn. Expecting him to turn it around? No, that's your words. Expect him to look like he wants to keep us up, as our captain, a big resounding YES. He doesn't deserve to go, because he completely let us down in every way, as a captain and as a striker when we needed him most. There were other factors of course, but expecting him to try is not expecting him to turn the whole team around. 1 goal ffs.

It is with the midfield we had. He was a rubbish captain yeah, dont see why thats relevant It's relevant because my entire post was about how Owen going to the World Cup would be a travesty because he doesn't deserve it, regardless of how good he is (he's terrible btw).

Expecting a striker (who was our captain btw) to score a goal to keep us up, and at least look like he gives a fuck is not the same as expecting him to single handedly turn around the fortunes of the club.

If Owen goes to the World Cup it'll be an absolute travesty. The little bastard was shit as fuck for us for god knows how long, not looking remotely interested when we needed a point to stay up on the last day of the season, even playing for his mate Al. His reward for that is to get a move to the best team in the country. Now for said team he's fucking shit and seems to be behind Danny Welbeck in the pecking order, so naturally his new reward for being a total cunt, passed it, wreck of a footballer is to be called up for England's World Cup squad. Bent, Rooney, Gabby, Crouch, Defoe, Walcott and Cole are just a few strikers that are better, more effective, more talented and more deserving of a call up than this prick.
