Shame we arent interested at all then. We wont sign a LB this window, would like to know who the 'very, very good player' is Pardew is tracking. Who says we aren't interested? Pardew saying its only a CB coming in now after Cisse. FWIW yes i know he said no striker before that but it really was a chance purchase and its just daft to think another will follow. No idea whether it's him or not but have been told our main man is watching his team this weekend and that we're looking at a defender. You have been told? That the game we're going to be represented at this weekend involves that lads team. So? That doesnt mean we are sending someone to the biggest game in Holland this weekend for him. Pardew was bigging up his FB options the other day while openly talking of signing a CB. Makes no sense to be interested in a LB imo Vertonghen?

Vertonghen????//

Abeid Guthrie HBA Vuckic Jonas Best Is what I would do .. no chance of Pardew doing that

In Perth mate, I actually used to play against Chris Herd and Rhys Williams when I was a youngster.

If we were to make 3 realistic signings between now and the end of summer. What 3 players would you like to see sign? for me . Tranquillo Barnetta . Jan Vertonghen . Aly Cissokho

His best position isnt right back, its actually defnsive midfield. However hes developing into more of a centre back under Mowbray.
-
Williams is just a better version of Perch, comfortable at defensive mid, right back and centre back. Dont think wed sign him as a centre back only.
-
i would like a right winger as well

This is the lad Ben Arfa was supposedly raving about to Parew, telling him to get him signed?

"If the 12 million votes Newcastle has made a good deal. Would have thought Freiburg takes out more detachment."

Love this. Cant wait for the photos and the interviews from Cisse and Pardew.

Do you think its a 10 million pound transfer, wouldnt be surprised if it is a complicated deal based on number of appearances and goals he scores. Fucking amazing news this though

I think the way Pardew and HBA's skeptics see it, is that generally when HBA loses the ball we are attacking with numbers. Therefore, players are making runs in behind the opposition defence and are caught out of position, if the pass is intercepted or HBA is disposessed. Therefore we are more vulnerable to being punished on the counter attack because defensivley we are lacking numbers and are out of shape. Whereas when an unattractive long ball from Simpson or R.Taylor is played to Ameobi or Best and the ball is won back by the opposition, we still have enough players behind the ball to have a large enough chance to win it back. Pardew is playing the percentages, rather than the risky attractive football that HBA offers.

It was kind of inevitable that they were going to start brightly with a new manager to impress. We just had to weather the storm a bit. I was jsut a bit disappointed with how little we attacked them in the first 20 minutes.

There were about 6 or 7 moves that he orchestrated today that were simply outstanding
