Howay man he’s regarded as one of the top centre forwards in Europe. The way the chips have fallen have stopped others getting involved this Summer but you’ve got one of the biggest clubs in Europe undoubted coming back in for him at some point. If he stays until next Summer you’d imagine there’ll be a few others involved.

I think this is fairytale stuff to be honest, it’s not the real world. You aren’t keeping Isak for another year on the terms he’s on know, it’s absolutely not happening and if it does, you’re not getting the best version of him next year and it’s naive to think otherwise. If he stays, it will be improved terms to compensate for the loss of salary of a move to Liverpool and a release clause, can’t see any other scenario.

I don’t think it’s permission - it’s give and take, negotiation. If he stays we want his head right and him at his best levels. Whatever we think of him, if he stays we need him absolutely on it.

He’s the most sought after striker on the planet and is likely being offered to double his wage. We don’t NEED his permission, but it makes absolute sense to try and bargain with him if we want him to stay another year while we sort a replacement. We’d need his head in the right place, if that’s an extra £50k and a release clause then so be it.
